    MY 8-Month Weightloss Report

As some of you might know, I have been on a quest to lose weight. I reported my figures after 4 months and here I am again to report my results after 8 months. I haven't lost as much weight as I would have liked, but I know that a steady 2-pound loss per week is the healthier way to go. Not bad I suppose for someone that just 8 months ago suffered severe joint/ back pain and became winded just by walking to the mailbox. Also, I can now run 1 mile/ walk 10 miles without becoming winded!!!

    ~LOST 76 pounds
    ~LOST 25+ inches
    ~LOWERED my BMI by 10.9
    ~NO more back pain
    ~NO more high blood pressure
    ~NO more swelling in my legs/ ankles/ feet/ neck
    ~NO more joint pain
~No longer have Left Ventricular Hypertrophy (onset of Congestive Heart Failure)
    ~No longer take any medications

I still have a way to go, but I wanted to share what I have accomplished so far. I will try to make it back and update everyone at my 1-year mark.

And also, a BIG THANKS to all that have taken the time to understand, get to know, and care about a guy like me

Nice going man! Almost 80 lbs . . . that was like walking around all day with a bag of concrete mix on each shoulder. As someone who has struggled with weight my entire life, I love hearing stories like this. I know how good you must feel now to have that weight off. Good luck!

Thank you so much! And yes, 80 pounds makes a huge difference. I lost a small person I have a spring in my step and can do things I haven't been able to do for 8 years.

Good to hear man! I've been on a diet for the past 6 weeks, and have lost 18 pounds. I cut out all junk food out of my diet, and have been eating more and more vegetables throughout the day. It really has made a noticable difference.

Wow! That's totally awesome! Good for you! I've been losing weight myself over the last few months (20lbs so far!) and I'm at the halfway point for my goal weight. I packed it on slowly, so I don't mind if that's how I lose it, but I know how frustrating it is when it seems a little *too* gradual. I just had the best surprise when I got back from SDCC; I stepped on the scale to find that I'd lost 5lbs! I guess that's what happens when you walk 12hrs a day with very little food while carrying 50lbs of toys on 2-4 hours of sleep for about 5 days lol

Anyhow, congrats on the continuing progress and on all you've accomplished so far! I used to think I was tired and lazy all the time because I was getting old, now I know it was just because I was getting fat! HA ha ha! Have fun shopping for that new wardrobe and keep up the good work!

Congratulations almost doesn't cover it. It seems like losing even 5 pounds is an accomplishment, to lose almost 80 is plain awe inspiring.

I find myself in almost an identical situation, pretty much to the pound. My biggest question would be how much of a difference does it make in terms of how you feel overall? Do you go from barely wanting to do anything to feeling like you're Superman?

That'd be great to me, cause I could use that. My biggest enemy is GERD, that and lousy stamina.

Congrats again, keep on rocking it.

great job! Glad to hear it. 76 lbs in 8 months is quite spectacular!

I'm starting to try to lose weight myself. I started last week, and I'm down 7lbs so far. I got alot to catch up with. Although, I'm looking to lose 80lbs max.. closer to 60 lbs probably.

Thanks! and I agree! I have cut out junk food, soda, and almost all meat. I have a big vegetable garden and most of my meals come from there.

Congrats to you also!!! And you are right, once the weight starts coming off you start to feel better and get a little spring in your step.

Thanks you! I am staying within certain guidelings such as: no soda, limited snacking, not drinking liquids with and up to 1.5 hours after I eat (makes BIG difference), limited meat, smaller portions, and I exercise most days of the week.

I started noticing a HUGE difference after my first 20 pounds lost. You don't realize how much it weighs until you go pick up dumb bells that equal the amount you have lost. It is unreal that I used to carry around almost 80 extra pounds. I go to pick up an 80-pound dumb bell and I am like. WOW!

No, I don't feel like Superman, but I am much more active. I have few pains associated with carrying extra weight and I feel somewhat better about my appearance. The best thing is I don't worry about what I CAN'T do anymore. I am free to do anything I want without restriction.

And BTW, I am a HUGE Stinkor fan as well!!!

Thank you so much! Yes, I do feel a sense of accomplishment, BUT I know I have more to lose. I really let myself go. But you can find pics of me in the latest summer Picture Pages

Way to go MOTU_Maniac! Not an easy thing to relearn and teach the body and avoid those cravings. A little tip I noticed from few folks, ignore any skin issues at all costs, this is about your health not about posing on the beach. Sadly I know few folks one in particular that went from 350 to 135 over three years and was just devastated with loose skin and marks afterward so he gained 100lb back after few years to "fit the skin better". He just could not except he was not going to get second chance to look perfect like he did as teen. Wasted thousands on scams which nearly all skin promise products are today, complete scams that can not help that situation. Looked into surgery, 100k to fix all areas and there would be huge long scars. Focus all the things you can do now that you could not enjoy completely before that should be your focus.

I am glad you brought this up because it has REALLY started to bother me BIG TIME I know I am healthier and feel much better, but the loose skin does bother me. I try to ignore it..and it's not bad by any means, but I have about 50 more pounds to go and it will only get worse. I guess I thought I would be able to get back to my athletic days when I played competitive basketball 5 days a week and ran 5 miles a day. But I am starting to realize those days are gone

Yeah that may be a challenge in itself, initial acceptance. He had to lose a good chuck of the weight all over again though because he could not get his mind around it and gave up for awhile and that will only make it worse, yo-yo ing. He focuses on what he is capable of doing now and got into some outdoor sightseeing. So huge HUG from me, keep that mind as steel, dont get deterred as its really more about what you cant see within your body that has changed for better then just physical.
