Sign me up for Rebel-Lynn! I was secretly hoping 200X variant Lynn would come with that specific look.

I can already see how she could be made: new skirt/leotard on the 2.0 buck, new head, boots from Frosta or Entrapta and I'm sure there's someone I can't think of right now with the right forearms. It doesn't have to be a perfect match so you really only need to tool for a new head and dress.

I would love this version also. I hope the variants keep being different A-listers....because if so we will be getting a couple more Evil Lyn's, Teela's and Sorceress.

Here's hoping they don't over kill this line with constant He-man and Skeletor variants.

The forearms could be a mere new sculpt for the top of the gloves (or even with future figures one of their arm bracelets could work) then just paint the skin down to her hand with a sculpt for the end of the gloves (again maybe a future figure will have gloves). Don't some of the POP girls have gloves going up their whole arm to the middle of the bicep area?

I would love to get this figure as long as she's wearing the 200x dress and not that accursed Teela outfit.

    Great ideas everyone!

Especially that POP characters could help provide parts for "Rebe-Lyn" (heh, thanks for that one Josh) & that, as an A-lister, we should certainly see better variants than a re-paint (Meg-Lyn springs to mind!).

Lets face it, Rebe-Lyn looks great! What with her sleeves, boots, bodice & tiara, how could anyone not go ga-ga!? Even Keldor fell for her! She's an integral part of MOTUC history!

Doesn't seem it would require a lot of new tooling; they need to make thigh boots and high gloves for at least a couple of the POP ladies, anyway, and a new tunic would pave the way for a truer 2002 version of Lynn. I'd have a hard time passing on this one if they made it.

    That would be my suggestion.

Removable collar would be easy, Belt is doable per Fisto.

I do NOT want to see a small, kid style figure. Just giver the standard female body. The moment EL gets released as a 'teen' figure in 200x style, people will be upset that we don't have an ADULT 200x EL.

    Soooo Skip the 'teenage' buck.

Most 'high school' shows have the girls in the their mid 20's anyway.. just go with the adult body and then people can get their 200x or young lynn as they choose.

Honestly, I know some people like her... but Evil Lynn is NOT that important of a character. She has her place in the Canon, but she does NOT deserve 3, 4, 5 varients of her. If they have a way to combine the 2 200x looks they should jump on that.

I must say I am in agreement. The Evil-Lyn we have and the one we are getting are fine with me. If you want another one I hope they make it for you. And hell, I'll probably buy it too. I bought Battleground Teela and am pretty fond of the figure even tho I thought the campaign for a variant figure based on a design that appeared in one comic was pretty ridiculous. But still, I'm glad everyone who wanted her got her.

Still, I'd much rather see Jitsu or Ninjor or snake face or spikor or Stinkor before we get another variant of a character we already have.

but none of those characters would be released as one of the 4 a-list variants.

And I'm sorry but Evil-Lyn is one of the MOST important characters in the mythos.

    and, most importantly...

    5. We all get that you dislike Battleground Evil Lyn. You've made it abundantly clear in any thread possible.

TG has already said that no changes will be made to the SDCC revelations. He has nothing to answer for, based on my answers to your four concerns.

Can we please move on to other matters?

I thought TG said (after the whole Marlena fiasco) that She-ra 2.0 was the first charcter to have 100% new buck?

Considering he never leaked that there WAS a female between marlena and She-ra 2.0 i don't see where he promised she WOULD have it?

That said, I do think they should have tossed that 1.0 buck out the day they invented it. Armored characters have goofy looking half-armor to 'keep their articulation' yet females can't even waist twist?

    What were they thinking?

I thought he annouced it when BG Teela came out with the new female buck. That is why Marlena was not made with the new body type. Because she was made before BG Teela.

The new body was revealed with BG Teela. Also She-ra 2.0 is coming out the same month as BG Evil-Lyn.

But I am almost positive right after Catra came out, that he said all females produced after Catra would contain the new female buck. Maybe people are confused because we are calling the new buck 2.0. The new buck was made with BG Teela, She-ra 2.0 contains the same buck as BG Teela. That might be why your thinking of She-ra 2.0

I thought when BG Teela was revealed is when they announced all females would contain this new female buck. If you look under BG Teela's furry crotch piece, you will see she is the new female buck. I also remember Scott mentioning Marlena did not contain the buck because she was already in production.

Therefore BG Evil Lyn should have been using the new female buck. Since she was produced after BG Teela and Marlena. She is probably barely in production as we speak.

Here is some info I found from ToyGuru May Q&A:

Where Are Queen Marlena's NEW Female Parts?

Some pictures and a YouTube video have been posted from the display at The Comic Bug, and it appears Queen Marlena is still using the very first Female Buck 1.0 that the original Teela came with. This is the exact body and arms used on Adora, with She-Ra boots. She looks like she doesn't have a single new body part, but Battleground Teela has a new torso and new thighs.

Is Queen Marlena's buck correct, or a prototype error?

From what you've told us about the Queen Marlena buck, it's supposed to have a lot of new female parts which would be used on She-Ra 2.0:

"So first off Marlena: She introduces a lot more of the "new" female parts that will come together with She-Ra 2.0 later this year."

"Under the tunic or dress is much of the new "female buck". It looks a bit silly without a tunic or dress on (we'll post an image next week since we know fans will want to see) but it does become the foundation of the character and the source of the articulation. It turns at the waist and has improved arm and leg movement. It looks similar to an art store wooden articulated figure in terms of "look" without a tunic or dress over it."

I'll need to check with design on any specifics (as I did with Catra's hand question), but I believe their are some internal new connections and a new neck improvement as well as the first time we are doing the removable tunic/dress concept.

As stated, the full new Buck will come out with She-Ra 2.0. Catra, Marlena and Battleground Teela each added new parts but a lot more will be added with She-Ra 2.0. That is where most of the change will be.

The battleground Teela buck would have been great for BG Evil Lyn or the She-ra 2.0 (which was already in the works long before her release date)....she was postponed to be released with Swiftwind, so the female 2.0 buck was ready for BG Evil Lyn. As you can see from the above repsonse from ToyGuru he thought Marlena contained new parts, but later I believe he corrected himself after speaking to with Design. She might contain internal parts, but her outter buck is 1.0

Here is ToyGuru's correction on Marlena:

    5. Darkspecter:
Toyguru said Queen Marlena's body has new parts (possibly internal), but he said he would have to check with the design team to find out for certain which parts are new on her female buck. Can you ask design which parts are new (if any)?

    From Toyguru:

“I checked again with design and I was incorrect on this. The new body parts are with Battle Ground Teela and She-Ra 2.0. Marlena only introduced the new snap together outfit concept.”

That's a massive assumption right there. Personally, Out of their big bunch of figures, i don't have ANY idea what's in production and what isn't. Marlena was released after BG Teela... and she doesn't have it.

Anything he doesn't list as 'still prototype' in the video (like Thunder punch He-man...) is probably running through the machines as we speak. Especially considering the lack of new parts on her....

YEP!!! That's the quote I remembered! She-ra is the first figure with the all new tooling.

Never any promises about EL, or any promises about all females after Marlena.

WHICH I'll admit is kind of odd!!! We KNEW there was a 4th Female this year, and She-ra didn't count... Did anyone ever ASK if the mystery 4th girl would have the new tooling?

How did that slip by us??

    When did you hear that?

As far as I remember, She-ra 2.0 was designed specifically to go on sale with Swiftwind. I never heard ANYTHING about her being delayed or post-poned for that release.

I remember hearing these in the RGD I believe. Also Queen Marlena was released after BG Teela and made before her because she was the SDCC exclusive lol

That is why TG was not certain on her buck....I can guarantee that BG Teela was made after Marlena. Because they already knew who they wanted for SDCC way before they did the new sculpt for BG Teela. BG Teela contains almost all the parts She-Ra 2.0 will contain. There isn't going to be much more on she-ra 2.0 that BG Teela doesn't already have. We have seen She-ra 2.0 and I don't see much of a difference except she has clothes covering her mid-section. Soreress is using BG Teela lower body. The main part of the 2.0 buck is the lower body, how the legs look without a skirt and also the mid-section.

If you can find me a major new piece of the female buck on She-ra 2.0 please let me see it.

Also if BG Evil Lyn was made before BG Teela....why was she not shown til SDCC and why is there no carded pic of her? Yet BG Teela had a carded pic before she was even released.

The buck was made before BG Evil Lyn was finalized. That is why the tunic was in the cost budget.

At this point you're pretty much grasping for straws and looking for info that never even existed. We get that you dislike the BG Evil Lyn approach they took and you're free to voice that- please don't clog the boards with it in 500 separate topics though.

Also, please remember when you make a claim that they already sculpted the buck before BG Evil Lyn was made you should probably add "I conclude/assume/gather" as you aren't privy to such information and it makes it sound like you are stating fact. They aren't going to change her and that's that.

In this post from ToyGuru mattycollector.com February thread on he-man.org, Scott talks about BG Teela being slotted into the line for June 2011 for over two years. So her buck was already planned to be made.

There is no excuse for BG Evil Lyn not to have used her buck. The budget allowed the tunic to be redone. The current one she has could have been redone on a BG Teela body (basically the 2.0 buck just with the bare waist)

Here is what was asked and what was said by Scott:

    Thanks for Battleground Teela!

Thanks to you and the 4H for helping to make my dream figure come true, Toyguru! I've been wanting this figure since I first read that comic!

My question is similar to Rockinhard's question about Pre-Eternia Disguise He-Man: how come Battleground Teela was chosen? I'm totally not complaining, but I never expected her to be seen this early since she's so obscure so seeing her yesterday was a COMPLETE SURPRISE. If anything, I was expecting 200X Evil-Lyn to be released alongside of the Faceless One.

I think this was covered by me in the video Pixel Dan did at NYTF, but the short answer is, she is a kick *** cool variant of Teela.

When we first launched MOTU in late 2008, the team went through all the material we had legal access to. While flipping through the DC comics we saw this outfit and immediately wanted to get her into the line! I was actually personally hoping no one was going to bring up the DC comics (and no one did for almost a year and a half into the line) so that when we revealed Battleground Teela she would be out of left field and a cool surprise no one was expecting.

Sigh. Can't win em all! Clever fans (I believe yourself included) started asking for her pretty quick and the cat was out of the bag that we had access to this design.

So while fans have been asking for her for a while, she has been slotted in as the June 2011 figure for almost two years when we first put the line together around Feb 2009 (when we knew the line was going to go past the first 6 figures and needed a long term plan to ensure we still had enough good characters to last into the future - we didn't want to get to 2014 and go "oops, all the goods ones have been done"). We have very deliberately spread out what we assumed back then would be the fan demanded characters, and for the most part we have been right on. Battleground Teela, like all the releases, has been planned from the start.

This is from the April one:

    Quote:
What Will Be The Future Of Current Female Buck ?

In NYFT, you've announced that you are slowly building a "Brand New" female buck & it will be completed and it will be used by She-Ra 2.0 & the other 2 female figures to come this year !

So... What will be the status of current female buck then ? Will it be used at some point again OR will it be discontinued forever ?

    Thanks !

The old buck could potentially be used, but only if the new one is not working for a particular figure. Likely though, I am guessing the new buck will be pretty universal or even newer parts. It isn't likely we will go backwards and use a buck that offers less articulation unless the figure really called for it.

Personally I don't see BG Evil Lyn would be called for the old buck. There is no reason. Nothing about her would require the old less articulated buck. This of course has changed since April 2011. I know he mentioned in either RGD 58 or the SDCC Walkthrough with Pixel Dan that the new female buck will be used for all females going forward.

good job! I think that the Battleground Evil Lyn IS "Classicized" 200x. I think it's the perfect Evil Lyn figure. Definative.

But this design would be a wonderful addition. Sexier than her normal gear. Different enough that it would deserve a new version.

I wouldnt hold my breath, I dont expect to ever see it, but yes: it is grand.

Originally, I was upset about Evil-Lyn reusing the Teela outfit until I read what Eric of the 4H said in one of the recent Roast Gooble episodes. Because the 2.0 body wasn't finalized, they didn't want to create a new MYP outfit because it would have been made for the original(soon-to-be obsolete) female buck.

Your idea for the MYP version is good. Now they can sculpt the new MYP outfit for the waist twisting 2.0 buck. But I think they're also going to redo the Teela outfit for the Filmation Evil-Lyn and reissue Teela. I hope I'm right.
