Okay, after listening to the AFI interview with Toyguru, we know the following:
- Draego-Man is one of Skeletor's Evil Warriors
- Fearless Photog is one of the Heroic Masters
Geoff Johns character:
He actually created this "He-Man" character as a kid and sent TG over a crayon drawing from when he was 7. Terry Iguchi (not sure of name spelling) rendered it as a toy with He-Ro's cod piece. Geoff had it changed to Man-E-Faces' cod piece. TG/Mattel wrote the bio. He helps fill in holes to the bio canon. Geoff tweaked the name of his character's power source.
Mattel asked more famous people to take part in the 30th Anniversary figures, but either weren't interested or wouldn't work for free. This is probably why Mattel will be creating 2 out of the 6. The Four Horsemen were always #1 on the list for this idea.

I'm actually surprised Fearless Photog will be a hero! I thought he was going to be created for heroic purposes....like the Mars Rover or something, and haywire and be evil. I mean...he captures people in his chest!Still, all really cool info!

It's good that he is an "Evil Warrior" for Skeletor, because Skeletor doesn't really have any flying minions... save for Batros, who is kind of a mercenary.

I dont think draego man should be one of skelators evil warriors, nor do I remember them saying he was part of his evil warriors. He should be part of the fighting foe men, pre eternias fighting against the likes of Vikor and such.
Oh, I don't know if this has ever been suggested anywhere, but I REALLY hope Mattel will post pictures of all the 30th Anniversary Characters' "concept art" online for everyone to see. I know it would probably cost too much to make them a glossy insert in the packaging, but putting them online is free!
I would love to see the 4H's sketch of Draego-Man, Geoff Johns' crayon drawing, the contest winner's submission and whatever Mattel cooks up.

As for my own entry into the character contest, I have an idea that would be pretty nifty - just need to sit down and refine it. Gotta figure out which pieces I want to reuse.

The Return to Anwat Gar
Batros seems like a perfect character to be added to the Horde. He wasn't really firmly established as one of Skeletor minions, and could easily have been recruited later on by Hordak, much like his fellow Eternian Modulok was.
I'm happy that Stratos and Buzz-Off finally have someone to do battle with, although I was kinda hoping that Draego Man would be one of Demo-Man's Fighting Foe Men.
I'd be cool if each of the Create-A-Characters ends up being a member of a different faction; i.e. 1 new Snake Man, 1 new Hordesman, etc.

I've still got a pile of the junk I drew, and then I also found out that my dad had been putting the stuff I lost track of into a little file folder, so I've got even more than I thought! I hope one of the 6 figures in the anniversary line is a female. It's be great to get another female Rebel or female Horde member. Toy Guru did say in Pixel Dan's video that all factions are open, and mentioned POP specifically.

I just think it would be nice to represent as many factions as possible, and also to work on better gender distribution while we're at it.
I could have sworn Draego was from Preternia. He has the longer loin cloth. Maybe, as Darkspecter said, he has been around since Preternia?

He's probably just like that uncle who has a favorite suit jacket that he likes so much (or is too cheap to replace) that he never stops wearing it even though it's WAY out of fashion these days.
Long Preternian loin cloths will never go out of fashion. That is why Moss-Man still has his.
Or perhaps that is why Moss-Man smells? Heaps of deodorant to hide that manky old loin cloth smell
