    Yes ma'am. I think they are fine. It is normal for the more solid parts of the tomatoes to rise to the top of the jar with the liquid staying at the bottom.

    I would like to get into canning this year.

    Any chance you could walk some of us newbies to this thru doing this stuff? An what materials and how you would recommend using them for best storage methods?

    How you can each item is different depending on a lot of factors. What size jar? What food item is being canned? Will you be using a pressure cooker or boiling-water method?
