Cheer up Jack, seasons not over yet

I mean as long as you don't have a Texas 2010 style breakdown the Huskers will be OK.. lets see how they rebound against Ohio State next week.

Is that going to be A&Ms new excuse for losing?

Well, IF LSU and BAMA make it another month unscathed, I think it is a safe bet that game will be the national championship game played three months early in Tuscaloosa.

I guess that would be a better excuse then the truth that they just stink at holding a lead

I am not excusing anybody but like Tony Romo for the Dallas Cowboys, Martinez is the captain and the decision maker. It was his plays that led to the onslaught of free Wisconsin points.
Wow, I didn't know Martinez played defense as well! Amazing!!!!! Just because Wisconsin got the ball on his interceptions doesn't mean they needed to score. Giving up 48 points is the defense's fault. They got TIRED. I'm in no way excusing Taylor's performance, but I'm sure we all know that if you can't stop anyone, well, you just don't deserve to win. You CAN win a game scoring 17 points, ya know.

We can play semantics all day, if you don't turn the ball over your defense does not perpetually sit on the field. I can't blame the defense if they are out there forever.

I am also not arguing Nebraska should have won, so I am not exactly sure what your point of that post was. The offense turned it over too much to get back in the game later. It began and ended with the offensive turnovers, up until that point the defense was doing its job.

How are you going to sit there and act like defense should have put on a herculean effort, if you get screwed by your offense over and over again you are only human.

They were simply outplayed by a far better team.

That said, Nebraska has a lot of young players on their team -- Freshmen, Sophs. They can improve over the coming years. But they have to beef up (pun intended) their line. No way you give up forty, ffty pounds to the defensive line and win. You'd be tired, too, if you were 260 and going up again guys weighing in at 330 all day.

Nebraska looked good the 1st quarter but that's it. Mr. Martienez gets too caught up in the passing game. He checks his 1st receiver & if he's not open in 2-3sec. he panics. He doesn't stay in the pocket long enough for his other check downs or for the play to open up. Taylor is the leader of the team whether he likes it or not. When he throws a pick or fumbles his confidence & maturity as a player are severely shrunken. He needs to work on this. I do think we should have ran more & got Burkhead more invovled. Too many turnovers and our secondary is very inexperieced-lots of communication breakdowns back there as well. Let's not take anything away from Wisconsin. Very good team. Oh, & their quarterback will be playing on Sundays. He looked amazing.

Yeah, don't worry about Nebraska this week. I'm sure they're more than capable of handling OSU as bad as they have been this year. I have watched them for 15 years and don't remember them ever being this incompetent on offense. A decent quarterback would make all the difference, but I don't think we have one. It's time to let the 3rd and 4th stringer QB's audition because they only have 1-2 more wins this year if they don't improve quickly.

At the moment both mizzou and west Virginia are in the sights of the sec

And don't get down on a bad weak, all teams fall flat sometimes or in S. Carolina's case, get cheated two seconds.

Man, I remember the years before saban came to LSU to rebuild the program it was embarrassing.

I was really hoping Iowa State would knock the horns off again.

Missouri has my blessing to bail, they have been one of the worst members attitude wise of the Big 12 (crying when they lose, being arrogant when they do win in all sports not just Football) and have been wanting to get out for some time. I would have rather had them leave with Nebraska then Colorado, I actually enjoyed Colorado lol

I was really hoping Iowa State would knock the horns off again.
We won't be knocking off anyone as long as we play from behind and turn the ball over in such a big amount.

I fully believe that ISU has the talent to compete, they just need the experience and the discipline. Even ESPN said we have the talent but we just need better ball control.

As horrible as it sounds the ISU we saw against Texas is the one I have been expecting all year So the 3-1 start is a great surprise and I know many other ISU fans feel the same way

Ironic considering we are talking about Nebraska, probably more Heartland-esque then Wisconsin or Iowa

The staff needs to find some more big fat linebackers, meat > dairy

    The Big 8 returns...

Missouri was the first team from the Big 12 to talk about possibly leaving, so it doesn't surprise me if they leave. They would have bolted for the Big 10 had they wanted them.

Don't want them in the Big Ten. The sec can have them.

Bah, we don't want them either; I would rather the SEC court another school. Let Mizzou go to the Big East with TCU If they join us, it hurts the conference. Not only will it further imbalance the SEC West, the conference is saying it will have to shift either BAMA or Auburn to the SEC East ending rivalries that have stood for nearly a hundrd years.

If the Big Ten can keep the Michigan/Ohio State riveral going after their realignment then the SEC can keep 'Bama/'Burn going.

Actually, there are is bama vs LSU and auburn vs LSU. LSU vs florida is a yearly game too, it would be too much to have that all work out. The sec never thought much of rivalry trophies and named rivalry games, there are all sorts of stories about teams leaving the couple of trophies behind and in bars.

Game isn't over yet but anyone care to argue with me that Martinez did not screw the pooch again. Down by 11 with under 30 seconds left and you launch up a wild pass that gets intercepted and give Ohio State a free 3pt field goal. Could be worse, the horrible defense could have let the OSU QB run into the end zone with 10 seconds left.

I hope it turns around for them in the 2nd half, I mean this game I pretty much gave them because its a young OSU who was horrible last week.

I blame the defense for this probable loss so far. It was a dumb throw by Martinez, but the defense should have been able to stop a safe run by the Ohio State QB that got them more points. The offense has looked pretty good at times this season, but I haven't seen anything good about the defense this year. I revise my off-season prediction of 8 wins for Nebraska to 6 if they lose this one. After the collapse at the end of last season, I wasn't expecting too much this year, but even this is disappointing. Pelini better start correcting the ship or he could be in trouble.

Not a good day for ISU or Iowa either.

TCU looks like they will be joining the Big 12.

Its rarely ever a good day for ISU, but we are used to that so it does not bother us

I had to laugh when Bo basically waved off the booing crowd, its not their fault they are used to winning and you are producing whatever it is that this is
