A muscle bound barbarian
a ninja
a futuristic cowboy
a time traveling spy
a skull faced magician
a green tiger
a guy who's neck extendes

Wait a minute... all of these things are not like the other.

Come on people. How does he NOT fit. Haha. That is an UNFAIR argument.

It has nothing to do with the concept of who he is. A time-traveling spy fits in just as well as would a dragon-man, a cyborg gorilla warlord or an octopus-faced pirate*. The problem lies in the visual communication of that concept and how well the design fits with the overall design themes and style of the toyline.

(*Davy Jones would make an awesome MOTUC fig, seriously.)

I really don't think he's that bad. Back in the day if we had the internet and the org would a brand new character like snout spout, rio blast, or blast attack be so welcomed??? Probably not.

When I was a kid I didn't even think snout spout was a master when I seen him in a friends collection. When I got rio blast for christmas I think that was when I actually stopped playing with my motu toys and moved on. And blast attack is and was just plain boring to me.

Now. ...I want them all. Motuc and the four horsemen make all the old figures look great.

An extra spector head would be great!

I'm not going to buy any of the 30th figures. Aside from Photog, so far, I don't really like them. Plus the extra cost is making these any easy pass for me.

Not getting him, nor do I like him, but then again, I'm not buying Photog or Draego man either, I know it sounds a bit close minded but I'm not a fan of original characters, I can barely afford all the other things I collect.

Here's my problem with that; it's easy to tell just from looking at each of those characters what they are supposed to be and what their power is. You cannot say the same for Spector.

Spector looks like a comic book supervillain, not a heroic spy, and unless you're already familar with the Cosmic Key, there's nothing about his design that tells you he's meant to be a time traveller. Even his name doesn't help explain his powers the way that most MotU characters names do.

That's why, IMO, he feels more like a Marvel/DC character than a MOTU character.

The Mighty Spector just seems off.
Scott even said that he didn't use the character exclusively for MOTU.
His design fits more with super heroes imo.
The thing I dislike the most is the Spade logo.
When I get The Mighty Spector in hand from the 30th sub,
I'll make the final decision if I like him enough to keep or not.
He definably stands a chance as I like Spector better then
vintage characters like; Ninjor, Rotar, Twistoid and the Meteorbs...

He's not the coolest looking character, but I don't think he's nearly as bad as some people think.

not getting him and unfortunately I have to admit, the reveal of spector made me NOT buy a sub. he is at best a dollar store design.

I'm buying two Spectors, since I have two of the subs. I will probably end up putting Lt Spector's head on one of them. I saw the figure at Power-Con, and in person, I thought he looked fine.

I cannot comment on any MOTUC purchases past BP She-Ra and Swift Wind.

Honestly, I will pass on the figure, but only because he is not based on a vintage MOTU figure, which I am trying to collect exclusively. To be fair, though, I'm not even sure I will buy Photog, Draego-Man, or any other 30th anniversary figure.

Based on those descriptions, of course he FITS. But visually, he simply doesn't. He's purple, has no face, has a spade on his chest armor, and looks like he's wearing a condom from head to toe.

When describing the character, it's easy to see how he fits. But just looking at that piece of bleep makes me wanna vomit. Not MOTU. Never will be MOTU in my mind. Sorry.

I'll get him via sub, I'll be keeping him and he'll be displayed with my other MOTUCs, but I don't like him (specifically I don't like his head).

I've got the 30th sub. Had to get it despite TMS. it is what it is. I find him to be unappealing & undesireable. As of right now I won't be displaying him. if displayed there will be a 30th Ann. shelf.
