HOW TO REMOVE A PEG WARMER in 2 easy steps:
1) Do an interview:
https://www.facebook.com/notes/matty...50829819758401
2) Add subliminal messages:
- TIME AGENT HEMAN "So if you want to give He-Man the Vortex suit (or any character) you can swap heads."
- TIME AGENTS "Heck, you can have an army of Time Agents and give everyone in your collection a Vortex Suit if you want! Just grab a Mighty Spector, remove the head, and pop on anyone and you have an instant Time Agent figure!"
(from the TG interview...)

I think it would add a great amount of depth to the Spector character, and allow it to gain greater acceptance by the MOTU fan community, if Mattel killed the character off in future figure bios, possibly forcing him to live out his days as a loyal minion of the Snake Men and finally offing him in front of his daughter at the hands of some lesser known, mostly irrelevant character. Let's make it happen Toyguru!![]()

Besides all the unfortunate death it's brought to MOTU canon, that's even more reason for the bios to be unnecessary when all that was needed was a brief description of the power of the character in question like they did in the 80's. Since you often bring up "avatar of the imagination", I just don't understand the bios at all.
I also think, it`s hard to imagine villains being good guys when you know their roles since 30 years....
Last important characters: Two Bad, Tung Lashor, Squeeze, Modulok, Horde Trooper
I hope someone will produce some yellow stickers or something with the grayskull ring symbol on them. I know I'd buy one to place over the spade.
Hide & Seek Hordak does nothing to make collecting fun.
In a month with one of (if not THE #1) my favorite characters ever-Stinkor, and one of the coolest figures/characters to come out of NA, both with nifty-cool gimmicks working for them (!), I have to say that I'm just as excited for The Mighty Spector!!!
I like that he's a character who could have his own great adventures (though that could really be said about any character in MOTU). I'm also loving what I think of as "The New Guard" of the Masters/Heroic Warriors: Photog, Spector, Snout Spout...the guys who join up later in the game.
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti
Jungle Attack He-Man in Classics!
I have a question about the Time Vortex Suit (and I apologize if it's already been answered). How come nobody needed a special suit to time travel and world hop with the original Cosmic Key (Gwildor, He-Man, Teela, Man-At-Arms, Skeletor, Evil-Lyn and their massive army, Kevin, Julie and Lubic...and other characters in comics)...but this suit is needed with the new version of the Cosmic Key? Don't inventions tend to get better? This seems like a serious design flaw (for Gwildor or whomever reverse engineered the first Cosmic Key to make this one). If The Mighty Spector (or any of the time agents) get a rip in their suit...they DIE! That was never a risk with the first Cosmic Key. I think this is a major plot hole.I'm not hating on The Mighty Spector...I'm just trying to figure out what the explanation is. Does anyone know?

this is just a random guess, but the cosmic key is more powerful as it created a persistent portal for multiple people. the vortex suit transports one instantly, so is a lot less powerful - but probably a lot quicker for jumping in and out for just one person? no idea though - but you could explain it many ways.

Well, many people would be upset if there was no story at all to go along with the figures, and the bios introduce new characters and tie them to existing ones so that we do not have introductions from out of nowhere. Can you imagine the outcry if Spector or SLL were just put in the line and all it said about them was "Spector travels through time to fight evil." People have already been proposing conspiracy theories about many of the characters, and I think they would be even more so without explicit ties to the existing mythos.
At the time the figure line was launched, there was no other avenue for media except the cardbacks. No one knew the line would make it as long as it has, and no one knew there would be minicomics or even the new DC series. Furthermore, in the 80s, more was needed than the short information of the powers. Do any of us think that He-Man would have become the icon he became without Filmation? Just look at the crash of the last line of figures with characters like Ninjor, Clamp Champ, etc. who nobody knows anything about aside from maybe some comic appearances. And that just proves my point. More was needed than a simple description of powers. Transformers and G.I. Joe proved that from the get go.
One might argue that the bios are not the best place to tell a story, but if that's all you got, that's all you got. People would be upset without them just as they are upset with them. Same is true of Filmation. I'm sure that many of us did not like certain things about Filmation, but that was what we had. The characters are avatars of the imagination in that you can do whatever you want with them regardless of the media that is available. I never played with my Evil Horde characters as a kid the way in which they were portrayed in most media (i.e., Filmation). I just ignored it in my play, though I liked the She-Ra cartoon well enough. Even now, in my own personal canon (which is not really developed at all), the Sorceress doesn't die.
There may be elements of the bios that some people do not like, but that in no way violates the characters' role as avatars of the imagination. And I think that is Scott's main point.

That's pretty spot on. When all you have is the bios to tell a story, the medium dictates the message and the story had to flow through the card back bios. (sure I would have love a comic book, a direct to DVD or even a mini comic back in 2009 but it just wasn't going to happen. To fund even a mini we would have had to remove all second heads and most accessories, the figures would have been stripped bear!) We wanted to use the bios to keep fans interested (one method of doing this was letting fans piece the story together slightly out of order) as well as to introduce new characters/concepts that could help keep the toy line going. The story can't stay "Skeletor tried to get into CG and He-Man stops him" forever and we will run out of vintage figures sooner than later. We are way more than half way through them at this point. MOTUC is forever!
