After much reflection on my part I have decided to sell, and therefore not to open my sub figure. Having him in hand, it seems to me that he is just too simplistic, which is exacerbated by his lack of accessories.
Too bad, as I have enjoyed the other 30th figures and will definitely keep Laser Lot as well.
So my 17 year old nephew came over and saw my collection for the first time and was actually very impressed with Classics line, which took me by surprise being at that "too cool" stage. However, when he saw Spector his first response was, "He looks like Deadpool!" I was totally blown away by how he made that connection and it is easier to see how the majority of people see TMS. But, getting him excited about toys is still a victory in my book!
The figure has grown on me. My daughter reaches for it all the time. In my head, I dropped the time travel idea and he seems like a nice add in to the new adventures, even with the spade. I do agree that a Grayskull emblem would've been cooler. After seeing PD's review of the DCU star man! I wish tag had opted to have the figure molded in a translucent dark purple with glitter in the plastics. But that is just my personal taste, I'm sure that idea makes many recoil even more. We had a small party at our house last night, and many thought he was a DC or Marvel figure. After thinking about it, Brand Managers put their own ideas and characters into brands all the time; I can't blame TG, I would've created my own figure too. Whether the community loves or hates it, it exist.

Spector is worth exactly two pre-tushed turds.
I received my two Spector figures about 3 weeks ago. Overall, I am happy with the figure. One thing I noticed right away though... the eyes on my two Spectors' where painted differently. One had glossy red eyes, and the other had a flat red paint job (no gloss on the eyes). I assume there must have been to versions released. Personally, I like the flat red better, although the gloss red makes it look like he is wearing lenses on the mask.

So, is anyone else really disappointed that Spector's whip is the *only* pulled accessory that isn't in the new weapons pak? I know people would have gone ballistic if that was there and something else wasn't, but honestly, that is the missing accessory that I wanted most. It looked really cool on the original slides.
