I just went back and had another look at Spector. The more I look at him the more I hate him.............THIS FIGURE SUCKS!!!!!!!! I think he might be worst than Photog and up until now I thought that Photog was the worst figure of this line.

If you have an extra Skeletor head, an extra Keldor cape, and mod Skelly's or Faker's armor, this figure actually would look badass!!

Uh-oh...I think I like that. I doubt I'll be cutting and painting anything, but now I might try Skeletor's armour and head + Keldor's cape on him!

While I don't love Spector, I don't hate him either. He is just blah to me. He lacks, forgive me, the proper amount of MOTU cheesy-ness/charm that other characters have. Couple of simple tweeks make him fit better for me.

Add a cape - either Carnivus or Keldor
Different head- The extra Bow head, Lt. Spector, or Molar would work. Maybe paint it a different skin-tone
Change the Spade to hourglass.

Lose the name Mighty Spector- it doesn't fit with his time travel theme. Corney, but I think Trav-or or Count Tyme are better MOTU pun names.

Not in my MOTU universe. All my MOTU hero human men need a proper clean cut 50's Barbie Ken-like head to fit into the line.

For this quick mock-up, I gave him some glowing green eyes, and added a red gem stone to the armor. I think the figure they showed at Power-Con looks good. It could just use some minor tweaking to fit in better with the rest of the line.

a) A dozen copies of your toy

Disliking the figure on its own merits isn't valid anymore? I mean, I don't fault people for liking everything released, but I thought the mentality was reciprocated towards those of us who don't love everything. Guess I was wrong.

You know, you are rarely a constructive poster, but this has to be in your personal top 5 of 'least productive/antagonistic posts". If someone else had gone into another thread with "I hope it looks like crap so people are miserable", they would be lambasted. It's this kind of mentality that is ruining these boards, not disagreements over characters or the line and its handling.

While I'm ambivalent towards the figure's design, I am, however, totally accepting of it's creation. Especially after listening to TG geek out about it in the PC video. Good for him.

I agree that some of the tweeks posted definitely make the figure aesthetically more pleasing, but even altering the "spade" would be changing the character that TG created as a kid. Once you start altering things, you might as well add the cape, swap the head, pupils, ect. While that would no doubt please some fans, it sorta defeats the purpose behind the whole 30th line. A fan created figure should be all of nothing, in my opinion.

Loose the holster, replace the utility belt with some kind of armour and he's fine.

Edit: I'd go with a green cape, to tie in with his laser effects

Just watched PixelDan's video, and while I still can't say that I like Spector, there's no denying the enthusiasm that Scott has for the character. I may not like what's going on here, but I suppose I can be try to be happy that he's living the dream.

A cape would be cool, I like Steph's rendition with the Carnivus cape on him (that cape also looks good on Roboto).

The Mighty Spector is really growing on me, and he's easily generated the most buzz out of all the reveals. At least here on the .org.

YEP! I think MOTUC is the greatest toyline ever...other than some legitimate QC issues and customer service complaints, I don't have a problem with anything else.

But, then again I'm mature enough to realize that each and every figure isn't made just for lil' old ME and accept them as they are, designed by a TEAM of individuals to appeal to a wide range of fans. Any other view is just selfish.

IMO.
