Can't believe this doesn't have a thread yet. This beast was my favorite reveal at Power-Con 2011! The detail on him is pretty cool. He uses BattleCat's buck and SwiftWind's wings. That crack on the beak is cool too.

I love it. Always wondered if/when it'd be made, but with the beast slots, I figured it'd be coming sooner than later.

Glad to see it. Beautiful work! And I love that it was planned for a long time, namely Battle Cat's body and Swift's wings. Genius!!!

At first I thought it was the triton bull from blackstar. I nearly crapped my pants. It reminds me also of the beast from "The Relic". I love it. I wanna get atleast 4. 3 to open.

This was my second favorite reveal at Powercon (first being Stinkor, of course), I love all the detail put into it. The forked tail, the four eyes, the detail on the beak....

I love the griffin. I can't believe they made it. One of my favorite things about Classics are the extra items that help flesh out the line, like little amulets, magical artifacts, the weapon rack, and the beasts.

With the heroes getting the Wind Raider, I love that that the villains are also getting a flying "vehicle".

Since we already have Panthor and Battle Cat we pretty much know what we're getting to. So we know this thing is going to be nicely articulated and a very nice sized beast.

With the four eyes it gives off a Ray Harryhausen vibe to me.

Are the wing in final color?

Don't know. I realize it's probably not a finalized beast as far as color goes but it seems like they should be brown, imo.

Anybody notice that the hind legs are different than the front legs? Wonder if that was purposefully, and if that'll change at all. *shrug*

I'm not complaining - just wondering.

Griffins are legendary creatures from mostly greek mythology. They are a mixture between a LION and an EAGLE. It´s very common that they have different pair of feet, sometimes it´s the front and in the MOTUC it´s the back pair.

I like the eagle legs at just the back. It is in line with mythology.

I hope the wings will be brown, maybe with a grey drybrush

Out of all the reveals, this is by far my favorite. I actually REALLY love the color scheme as is... an all brown Griffin would look pretty bland, so I appreciate them taking some liberties and giving it lighter toned wings. I hope he stays as is with no changes

It does looks beautiful and its a beast that goes really well with the line. I hope the wings get made in a brown color though.

I got to admit that the 4H were smart in finding a way to reuse the Battle Cat body. I never would have guessed on that beast.

All in brown looks okay but than it misses something, maybe the outer line of feathers could be the grey from the prototype, that would be a nice compromise, if you ask me.

The 200X Griffin was a stroke of marketing genius. It's a perfectly wicked army builder. Fans will buy 2-4 at a time.

I'm hoping there are more army builder type items in 2012. I'm sure it helps the line to see so many of one thing being bought.
