imagine the secret of the sword in 200x version

i am always dreaming about the continuation of the 200x series in a direct- to -DVD animated movie .
I think the continuation of the series should be a remake of the secret of the sword.
but the canon 200x is a bit different from Filmation, so I ask you, how it should be the story of the secret of the sword in 200x version?

That would be amazing to see. I think though, that they may have to change a few things up. First, since it seems that Despondos was pretty much a barren plane of near darkness, with very little else in it (almost limbo-like), I think they would have had to have Etheria be somewhere else. Perhaps, Hordak and crew, with a brainwashed Adora in tow, could have created a gateway that led them to Etheria, which lies in another part of same universe as Eternia. Hordak and crew then would take over Etheria. Since Adora is now on the same dimensional plane as Eternia, the Sorceress could tell He-Man where she is, and the rest could play out in a similar way to the Filmation, albeit more modernized, and a little less kiddish.

If only! This would've / could've been amazing...

Actually with (admittedly) a fair bit of tweaking / updating the Secret of the Sword would make one-hell-of-a live-action MOTU movie too...

Perhaps this should be considered for Greyskull 2, should the first one succeed at the box office!

Having something like this in a live-action film trilofy / franchise could definitely give the MOTU movies an almost Star Wars-esque epicness / appeal, which I think would make the brand stronger and more successful than ever before!!!

You know, the "Etheria is in Despondos thing" has really thrown a wrentch into how we've always known Etheria.

However, I just had a thought. What if Despondos (besides being summoned by chanting its name) also is a naturally occurring black hole?

If it is, the entire planet of Etheria could have been swallowed into it and then the black hole collapses because a planet was too much for it, etc. That would explain the peace loving planet and the Horde taking it over in the MYP continuity and why the Horde can't easily escape.

    Could be interesting.

The fact that this does not exist keeps me up at night.
It's like thinking how awesome He-Ro son of He-Man would've been.

I realy dislike the Etheria being in Despondos thing and I choose to ignore that. In my opinion the best way to go is to let Hordak be in Despondos as the 200x canon stated and let Catra be the leader of the Horde invation on Etheria. Keldor could have brought Adora to her in stead of Hordak himself.

I think the canon motuc has a lot of 200x and if I am guided by that, "The Secret of the Sword" takes place before the evil-lyn freed hordak from Despondos .
sorceress sends he-man to Etheria in the depths of the dimension of despondos, to deliver the sword of protection to the chosen one.
I think that history should be similar but a little more adult, the adora's conversion from bad to good should be more complex, not so easy, she should have a major conflict with that.

i think mattel must risk to release a movie direct-to-dvd and the best option would be a new version of the secret of the sword.

Its not like that would be much of a risk. An animated strait to DVD release featuring this story would have every He-Man fan all over the world grappling with each other just to get a glimpse of the cover. Plus, as Mattel is heralded as one of the, if no the, biggest toy company in the world, I think they can afford it.

i want the same art from filmation just with more fights, better animation, improved like scooby doo has
i liked the 200x show, but i felt like it was on earth not like that bizarre background with weird plants, purple sky that eternia used to have

Listen and I shall tell you the story of the Great Unrest. Many years ago, twins were born to Randor, Captain of the Defenders of Eternia and his Lieutenant, Marlena. Those babies were Adam and Adora. To have two such fine children brought great joy to the soon-to-be king and queen. But that joy was soon to turn to sorrow, and the cause of that sorrow was a force from Despondos; a force known as the Horde. Led by a vicious Force Captain called Keldor, the Horde had attempted to conquer Eternia. But they were no match for Randor’s brave soldiers and the magic of Castle Grayskull. So Hordak hatched a vile plot. He knew Adam and Adora were both destined for something special though he did not know exactly what. So he ordered Pravus to creep into the nursery, determined to steal both Adam and Adora away. With him went his new pupil; Odiphus. Pravus had just lifted Adora from her cradle and was about to take Adam too when Duncan entered the nursery. Duncan tried to stop him, but Pravus escaped with Adora. To save himself, Odiphus betrayed Pravus and told Duncan the way to his secret destination; the Well of Darkness. Duncan and the Sorceress went there hoping to rescue Adora but they were too late. They searched for Adora for many years but could not find the dimension to which Adora had been spirited away. To spare Adam the pain of her loss, the people kept all memory of Adora a secret.

Keldor is transformed into Skeletor after his defeat at the Hall of Wisdom. He and his warriors are trapped behind the Mystic Wall, which is why Pravus is recruited to abduct Adora.

This is taken form Telkan2's MV Comics - Collected Info thread:

    Adora, Force-Captain / Princess:

Her story would have been told in the never-released “Randor” miniseries.

Adora was the daughter of Randor and Marlena, twin sister of Adam, and half-niece of the warlord Keldor. Sadly, in the eyes of Horde Prime and Hordak, Adora was also the “ultimate weapon,” bred to destroy the Power of Grayskull.

She was kidnapped by Keldor and Prahvus at some point in her youth. Using one of the “keys” to Despondos, the villains passed her along to Hordak. After being given to Hordak, Adora was raised on Horde World before going to Etheria.

Adora would eventually wield the bejeweled Sword of Protection, which once belonged to Queen Veena and was created using He-Ro’s Staff of Wisdom. The gem set into the sword’s hilt (in conjunction with the gem used to form the Crystal Castle) would enable Adora to drive the Horde from Etheria and bring balance to the universe once more.

I think this would be the best option for an animated movie direct-to-dvd , he-man and she-ra together would be commercially attractive.

    my questions are:

What is the cost of production of a animated movie direct-to-dvd?

How many copies it should sell or accumulate dollars for this to take some profits?
