Motu classics Illumina inspired by Emiliano Santalucia

Hello guys, with all the fuzz about Illumina, I thought it would be a good idea to publish her, since her wip has been sitting in my table for a while now.

This custom is based on the design Emiliano made back in 2010, when he tried to explain the process on how to "clasicize" a 200x design

I tried to stay 100% close to the design, the only slight changes I made were on the paint applications, using different shades of silver to give her more depth.

I also made one of my stories featuring her and Spector on their eternal struggle. But since the story is separate from the demonstration video, I posted it on the fan-fic section. Here is the link:

    http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...d.php?t=215801

it features your usual quote of laugh, action, deception and good music so don't miss out!

Here is the video for the figure only:

Ok, call me a terrible fan----I had no idea who she was. Putting the history of the character in the video made me love her more.....and I already was SUPER-IMPRESSED with the custom.

    Well done. BEAUTIFUL.

I like Illumina and I like this custom, but I’ve always thought that her colours need work and this custom shows that. She looks unfinished. With all of that white going on, it needs to be either pearlescent or have some subtle shading going on (or, it could be totally revised).

If I were going to colour her (without changing her too much), I would change the white on her belt and boots to be an almost-white/silver. And I would change the loincloth/dress part to be an almost-white/beige. When I say “almost white”, I mean more white than colour. In the end she would still look all white, but the subtle shades would break it up a bit. I would keep the pants, cape and bodice parts white/white.

I dunno about the hands. White gloves would be ok, but they don’t look like gloves. It looks like she has vitiligo on her hands.

I get what you are saying. I myself had to alter the shades of silver to make her more appealing in toy form. She looks great on paper but in toy form sometimes things look different. We still have no gloved female hands, although it would be nice. Thanks for the comment!
