    Pumpkin Carving- Skeletor style!

    Hey all!

    Hope this is in the right forum... Thought you guys might dig an in-progress pic of this year's pumpkin at the Sawyer household: Skeletor!





    That is what it looks like lighted. I am also going to paint the black facial details and the remaining "uncarved" portion of the pumpkin purple to simulate the hood, that way it looks like Skelly in the daytime too!

    That is very impressive. The extent of my pumpkin carving this year (not that I carve a pumpkin on a regular basis) was a large knife, a drill, and Mr. Potato Head parts. My son's pumpkin is Spider-Man. Happy Halloween to you and great carving there.

    Thanks man! I just drew it free hand onto the pumpkin, and then slowly carved out all the yellow parts of his face. The hardest part was the teeth... Leaving behind those tiny little separations was a chore.

    Thanks a lot for the kind words everybody!

    I finished up the last bit of work on Skelly-kin yesterday. Painted all the "uncarved" portions to simulate the hooded look, and did a bit of clay sculpting over the stem to convey the point of his hood a bit more. Here's a comparison shot showing how it looks in daylight and how it looks all lit up! Happy Halloween fellow MOTU fans!

    Ah, the hood tops it off nicely. I love it. I just carved a pumpkin myself so I know how difficult it is. Great work.

    I guess I am a bit of an old fuddy duddy , I don't even participate in the festivities anymore. I turn out my lights and go to bed.

    I guess if I had Kids it would be different. It is just the Chihuahua and I. lawls , this sounds so sad reading it out loud .. sigh

    Yeah, having kids really amped up my enjoyment of all the holidays really. Halloween kinda lost its luster until they came along.
