I'm hoping for two items at SDCC this year:

    i) A deluxe He-Man or He-Man variant, or a beautifully packaged multipack of He-Man and another character (to celebrate the 30th anniversary)

ii) Something just as awesome as Orko / Adam and Marlena / Cringer, such as Ram Man, Modulok or Two-Bad (to move the line forward for us fans)

Since Mattel now has the Filmation license, I think a perfect candidate for an SDCC exclusive would be a:

'Deluxe' Filmation-Blue Hordak and could come with...

    • new paint deco (of course)
    • multiple arm attachments
    • multiple head attachments
    • one alternate 'full body' form (e.g. Rocket or Drill)

And I still believe the recent MOTUC Q&A 'strongly hinted' at multiple 'color' variants of the forthcoming Snake Men 2-pack which could possibly and logistically be one of this year's SDCC exclusives... Guess we'll have to wait and ssss-ee.

These would also make for a nice mix of factions (Horde & Snakemen) for this years SDCC exclusives. Maybe even a third 'heroic' faction exclusive would be cool too, to round out the exclusives? I mean, it is the "30th Anniversary" and all – one exclusive for each decade!

    Sounds good to me...

Let's assume, it will cost around 30$. And it is one Charakter! And it's appropiate for the 30th. So it could be something iconic. He-Man & Skeletor are the 2 most important characters, they would fit.

    But more variants? Hmmmm....

What would be fitting He-Man vs Skeletor 2 pack, Skeletor has an alcala body (incl feet) and head He-Man has Alcala styling as well, packaging is old school exploding rocks etc, great artwork etc.

I'm not really UP for more variants per se but this would be an awesome looking set, esp if they are posed in package in a battle, maybe a recreation of a mini comic page or cover witht he bg painted like the mini.

I am going to hope for Meka-Neck, Ram Man, Jitsu, Two Bad, and Rio Blast - any ONE of these will make me a happy collector.

However, since we already have had a ton of vintage line heavy hitters this year (fisto, khan, sorceress, stinkor, spikor) I am going to hedge my bets on NA and POP dominating the rest of the year

EDIT**** I didn't read the subject. The exclusive this year should be a Filmation figure, I think....

Something that I want to buy twice or more without being an army builder?

    It's tricky....

I think this would be a great one to save for She-Ra's 30th (along with other things to celebrate it).

Sound like Modulok to me... they could do the green limbs version for SDCC....

Yeah, I also thought of Modulok...But distinguished shared parts...Weren't the green limbs in the 80's only repaints of the regular red ones?

Maybe there is a Filmation version and a vintage toy version...

Plus, we still don't know something about a vintage Horde member this year...

There will likely be a lot of pieces... but they won't be from Etheria...

But then, Modulok wasn't FROM Etheria was he??

    Hmm...

    No... Modulok is too obvious...

    Try again.

Puzzlor!!! No wait, that was from Batman...
I bought TWO 2013 Subscription as support, because of the promise that showing support will ensure 2014 will include ALL the major POP and NA characters.

Offering something exclusively at SDCC penalizes the majority of people who support MOTU. The fans who support this line every month are the ones who should be rewarded instead of scalpers and locals who attend comic con that don't even care about this property. One of the biggest mistakes Mattel made with DCUC was Gleek. With subscription sales down and the never ending problems with Digital River is it really a good idea to further antagonize the people who support this line?

Ooooh my, I love your hints! Can't be Horde Troopers since it's not from Etheria...Hmm, lots of pieces. This is a toughie! How about Jungle He-Man? Two heads, spear, power harness, removable boots/feet, axe & sword?

Based on the recent hints, perhaps the SDCC exclusive will be Roger Sweet's trio of "concept" He-Men (the "barbarian", the "spaceman" and the "soldier/tank").

It would be appropriate for the 30th anniversary since it harkens back to the creation of the line. And it would justify purchasing BOTH versions and an extra since there would be at least three distinct "looks" for the figure, plus multiple additional combinations.
This sounds like the most likely answer based on the hints. I thought they would do these guys in a three-pack, but it makes sense to have one standard body and a bunch of alternate outfits, heads, and accessories. It would make sense to want both the Matty and SDCC versions and extras as well.

    ^^^^

A couple of posters (vertigoink and Emiliano) have rightly pointed out that there may be issues regarding the ownership of the copyright in those designs.

Still, the multiple hints about multiple parts/pieces do indicate that there will be a degree of "mix and match" to make multiple versions of whatever the SDCC exclusive is.

Okay, it's not the Horde. The Snakemen have nothing with many pieces... It surely isn't a vintage character...It fits with the 30th anniversary...Maybe something from the mini comics or cartoon...Something I maybe buy 1or 2 extra...

What figure or character has a lot of pieces? I assumed NA He-Man with his stuff from the 3 vintage variants, but NA doesn't represent the 30th anniversary. It must be something from MOTU!

The word "they" stands out the most to me in that post.

A Filmation style Hordak and Imp (w/shapes - perhaps they lied about the budget, but perhaps not) could have a bio written to be from Despondos instead of Etheria. They could be considered appropriate for the 30th.

There was a female last year and I doubt they'd do 2 ladies in a row for SDCC. Tuvar and Baddrah 2-pack with a Two-Bad reveal for the 2013 Club Exclusive would be clever, but not necessarily likely due to a two-pack cost.

The past two years have been a figure and a pip-squeak with several parts (basically)...

Prahvus with Odiphus (connected via the bios) would be interesting but what would be many relevant parts parts for those two?

Evilseed could have many parts for his two versions and maybe some plant creature pip-squeaks... or a mini Marzo w/ black flowers

I don't know, gonna have to think on it some more....

Maybe, or Duke might have thought saying "He" or "She" would have been to specific of a clue, so he opted to say "they" instead.

Maybe it's a big pack of body parts to mix and match up a bunch of Trollans! And each pack comes with different parts/colors. This would actually be insanely cool. . .
