It still often does, especially as I'm doing all this with just a mouse and a lot of determination, I can't afford specialised programs and equipment that would have made things that much easier and quicker. Though I'm used to the repetitiveness, I spent 4 years getting a Diploma and a Degree in animation, after my 4 years in art and computer graphic design courses, but it still gets tedious a lot of the time.
The MAA sequence only has a few more frames to go now, thankfully, then I just need to finish off the ones for the Cringer sequence and I'll be able to put up the third & final preview... I just wish I could find a clean and wide example of the background behind Cringer in that sequence, it's the last one I need to find

A quick update! Good news, only about 11 frames more to do, so I should have the third and final preview video ready by the end of the week.
Finished the Man-at-Arms sequence frames yesterday, here's one of them for you to see:

Well guys, a week late, but I finally finished the animation for the intro! There's still the light & shade, a couple backgrounds and transition to go, but it will be done.... after a short break so I can get to finishing other stuff that I had to put aside!
But anyway, for now, enjoy the third & final preview for my remastered widescreen version, of the the 80s He-Man and the Masters of the Universe intro sequence:

So far so awesome!

Thanks guys. It has been both a labour of love and one of frustration... still being frustrated by the background painting behind Cringer, I need a wider version and they only ever used colour variations, not even a laser printed bg sheet for sale in eBay
Anyway, I'm taking a break from it all, which'll give me the chance to get the other stuff I was after doing, though I'll still do bits of it every chance I get, just not on the same level I have been doing recently.

Hi again all... the vid has been beckoning me back to get on with it again, for which I have! I am currently working on getting the Man-At-Arms background finished, which I hope to do so by the end of the week, possibly a few days longer, though it's the first time for me touching it since my last preview of this image:

Gotten a bit more of the vines and tree done tonight, so coming along nicely, though I'm thinking I'll probably end up doing the extra couple of days as first thought the way things are at the mo:

What a BIG amount of work is collected here! Thanks a lot for showing us this intro!
March 23, 2016, 08:14pm
No probs, I just hope everything goes OK and I get it all done soon... and today's updated:

Finally, the left hand side of this background is now done and dusted, thankfully the right hand side is not as fiddly, so that should be done rather quicker... anyway, here is the finished left hand side:
After I get done with the right side, all that will be left is the ground, which looks like it's going to be a real bugger!

The right hand side is coming along quickly as expected, but it's definitely the ground that's going to be bothersome... anyway, here is the next progression:

Had a bit of an issue with my right shoulder, so I wasn't able to complete the bg in the time I set myself, but almost there... the painkillers help, though still very sore to move!
So whilst I'm incapacitated at the moment, I thought I would post a sneak peak at another project I've been working on along side... the death of Loo-Kee

Hey all, it's been a few months since my last update on my He-Man MOTU opening, but I have just finished off one of the last couple of bits I needed to to to my Castle Greyskull background piece, namely, the ground Lots of layers to do that bit, I just have the emblem on the door to do, then it'll be finally complete.... just need to find a close-up so I can get the details right, the current image is rather blurry!
Anyway, this is the latest image with the door closed and the ground exposed:

Good job on that, Zentron! Thanks for sharing your fan-art with us!

My plezure, as you've probably guessed, I'm back onto doing the vid, just sorted out a little bit of a scene transition blending issue that I was having, the transition from Adam doing his piece to camera at the beginning and the scene blending through onto Castle Greyskull with the lightning going on. I had done it previously with just doing it editing each individual frames themselves, but as I wanted the clouds in the background to be moving, I realised it would take a lot of framework and might not look as good as I would have liked, though completely sorted now, just required a few more track levels, so very happy with it now. Hopefully I can find a decent close-up of the emblem, and finally put this background piece to bed!

It already looks fine! Great Castle!
July 24, 2016, 06:25pm
Thanks Nankeiro, though as usual I won't be satisfied until it is fully complete! Speaking of complete, I just finished with adding the light and shade of Prince Adam about to change into He-Man! Now there's two versions, as I am having it flicker with the lightning bolts during the transformation sequence, but this is just one of them:
I have to make a few tweaks when it comes to transferring the light and shade over to the He-Man side of the transformation, but that won't take long.... what will take long, is doing the lightning bolts themselves! They're so squiggly they take a long time to reproduce in PhotoShop with the pen tool
One more bit of news on the She-Ra front, after I have finished doing this vid, and my short vid of Loo-Kee getting killed, I'll be doing a redesign of Adora and She-Ra, along with doing my own transformation sequence animation

Right, well I finished off the lightning bolts flashing to the sword when he is transforming from Adam to He-Man, but just when I thought I could relax (don't do it. When you want to go to it) *ahem* I get to the parts that I was dreading, where the screen flashes full of lightning, sparks, surrounding and enveloping Adam.... holy she hit, now this is really gonna suck the life out of me:
Not even a quarter way through just one frame, it's taken 2 days already just to do that and I have 11 more to go..... I need to go lie down for a few hours
August 15, 2016, 10:24pm
Hey all, this time I am not showing you a work in progress, but instead, the completed article, Castle Greyskull, with its door up, is now '100%' complete:
I am soo happy, I could jump around with style... though it's 3:24am, so probably not a good idea, but I am that glad to have finally finished another chapter in my recreation of the intro sequence!
August 29, 2016, 05:46pm
Yowzer, that was an effort and a half, I'm only one frame down too, but that's the name of the game, gotta do it, even if it is hard and can take a long time to do! What am I talking about? Well, the said above frame of course, Adam being enveloped in light, sparks and lightning, just another 12 to go... this would really go a lot faster if I could buy a drawing tablet for cheap, oh well:

A little something different to submit today, I mentioned a few posts earlier, that I would be doing a redesign of She-Ra, Adora, along with doing my own transformation sequence, well, I have taken the first step to doing just that! I have started on redesigning her sword, as you can see, I have taken some inspiration from her original design and incorporated it here, it's not complete and the colour shceme is not absolute, I still have some tweaking to do, but this is pretty much how it'll look in this state. Also, as I liked the 200X reboot sword transformation, I decided to do similar here, what you see is phase 2 of the sword, for use whilst Adora is transformed into She-Ra, when she is Adora, the wings will fold away into the two containers they are attached to, which will also clasp onto the middle jewel section, forming phase 1.
Anyway, here is phase two of my redesign of She-Ra's sword:
September 11, 2016, 01:57pm
OK peeps, two things here today, one is just showing the above with phase 1 of my Adora/She-Ra sword redesign, but second of all, after I have gone through the redesigning parts, I will be starting on my animation of the Adora to She-Ra transformation, as well as the music, SFX, etc, though quite obviously, I won't be able to do the voice and that is where you ladies of the forum come in! I need someone to be the voice of Adora & She-Ra, so if you fancy taking on the role, send me an audio byte with you saying those most famous lines... don't shout though, but have some power behind them. As said, this will happen after I have gone through the redesigning phase, plus as I am running low on drive space, just 59.5gb left, which ain't much to run a computer on, let alone producing a hi-res animation on, I need to buy a new external HDD, but this is just a small matter!
So for the moment, I give you phase 1 & 2 of my Adora/She-Ra sword redesign:

So then folks, the next bit of my She-Ra redesign, her headpiece and just like the sword, the blade feathers fan out during her transformation:
And again, if there are any ladies here who would like to be the voice of Adora/She-Ra for my transformation animation, please submit your voice recordings saying the magic words

I really like your design of She-Ra's sword, I can't wait to see the whole look
