So I decided I would consolidate all my customs into one thread so i'm gonna go through and delete the individual threads whilst putting them all into this one. Kinda like a record of how I have improved whilst working on the 200x line. Eventually this thread will lead to group shots of the masters and the forces of evil. I'll probably start throwing in a few WIP pics too as I strive to complete my custom 200x collection.
So without further ado we'll start with He-man V1
Mekaneck
Trapjaw
Merman
Fire armour Skeletor

Those are pretty awesome man...
Take a look at my deviantart. http://kaassouffle.deviantart.com/gallery/
thats a beautiful collection of work! all very nicely done.
i still believe that if mattel had supported the four horsemens intentions to release the 200x line as a hyper articulated line (as the first figures were sculpted to be) it would have been more successful.
you can see pics of all my projects on my facebook page. facebook.com/don.schomer or email me :athf15683@yahoo.com
Can you put them side by side with motuc or other line so we can see the size difference?

Thanks people, I got the parts I was waiting on for Roboto yesterday so he should be done soon, then I think it's onto he-man V3 and maybe a sneaky Faker at the same time.
I don't have any Motuc (too expensive for me) here's a picture of some of the evil warriors next to some of the original mattel 200x figures

Great work on these. I have been reading and rereading your thread over at FIGURE REALM just to get an idea how to do something similar with my figures.

yeah these are beautiful. If only 200x had been like this. Articulated.
If they ever do a MOTU 200x Classics line, I hope its just like this.
Cheers Bud, Roboto shouldn't be far off, he's in the paint stage now
Thanks man, it's great to hear someone gets some use from that thread
Thanks mate, I really tried to get the sizes just right.
Haha, if they had been I'd have nothing to dothanks!!

Are you planning to do any female characters in this series? I would love to see Tella, Evil Lynn, the Sorcoress please.
What was will be again.........
Yes, I plan to do all of the above, Teela has already been started but I'm kinda holding off on the others in the hope I can get the bits I would need for a reasonable price. In the meantime, here's Roboto
Man it feels good to get this guy off my work table and out of my thoughts. I've been working on this guy since September and he has fought me all the way but, I did not give up, granted there were a few headscratching moment but I got there in the end. The basic recipe has been done before by Jin Saotame so props to him for having the vision to use Lex as the base. I wanted mine to be different but there really aren't that many options for robotic looking figures in the DCUC line. I decided I simply had to have the oversized vents for the bottom of his legs and that's where my troubles began. Anyhoo, onto the recipe.
Recipe:
Head = 200x Roboto
Torso = 200x Roboto - dremmeled the arm holes to be bigger.
Upper Arms = DCUC Lex Luthor - changed the rubber washers on the pegs as they were too thick, used earphone wire instead.
Lower Left arm and hand = 200x Roboto - dremmel to fit.
Lower right arm = 200x Roboto - dremmeled down then sculpted over to match upper arm.
Crotch piece and hips = DCUC Dr.Midnite - used to cut down on the wide legged stance caused by the lex crotch. 200x Roboto crotch dremmeled out then attached over the Dr.Midnite one, sculpt to blend.
Upper legs = DCUC Lex Luthor - dremmeled down to fit the Midnite hips. 200x Roboto thigh pieces dremmeled down to a thin piece then attached.
Kneepads = 200x Roboto.
Lower legs = 200x Roboto - dremmeled hollow then sculpted parts to blend.
Feet = DCUC Lex Luthor with 200x Roboto soles completely re-sculpted the feet to be bigger and match the design from the original 200x Roboto.
Chest plate and claw (big thanks to CFC!! over at figurerealm) = 200x Roboto.
Gun = 200x Roboto - barrels / rockets from battle armour heman's projectile.
Next up, he-man V3 (I really like V2 he's just not to scale with my others) and Faker. Thanks for looking and I hoipe you enjoy.

man, this is definitely a gorgeous rendition of roboto.
great use of parts and very neat paint apps: congrats.
lol at the last picture.
great idea merging all of your works in a single thread.
ps
is the purple on the boots a nod to the vintage toy's
"discoloration" issues?![]()
Man I love these. 200X is my fav out of all the lines. Wish the toys were as awesome as yours. cant wait to see the females!
The time and effort payed off, he looks fantastic! Well done DT!

Excellent job, my favourite is the normal Skeletor. I wish I had the time and patience to turn all my 200x collection into such magnificient articulated figures as yours.

@Darththomas81, your figure customs are amazing! The articulation is done so well that i didn't even notice it when scrolling through the thread the first time (I've been away a while, so I didn't see these as you completed them).
The other thing that makes them look so good, is the painting; good lord man, where'd you learn to paint like that?! I'd love to see a tutorial that only covers your figure painting techniques (if this magical page exists, please post a link!).
I'm truly envious of your fine skills, sir.

Thanks man, I call the last picture "A job well done". The purple wasn't intended as a nod to the discolouration issues but it is now. Nah really it was Jin Saotame's roboto that inspired the purple, I liked the look of it.
Cheers, only got Teela on the way at the mo.
Cheers Bob!!
Thank you very much, Personally I can't wait to show some group shots, I think the masters will be the first group shot as I only have three of them left to do.
Thanks man and yeah I love that Skely too, he's currently perched on Panthor, I need to paint the saddle though.
Thank you very much.
Well thank you very much, as for the painting I have been painting in one way or another since I was about 11, I used to paint warhammer miniatures in them days, 19 years later and I'm still loving it, I love bringing life to flat coloured figures. I do have a skin tutorial over at figure realm, check it out if you like http://www.figurerealm.com/viewcustomtutorial.php?id=68

Next up we have He-man V3, I know, i know, why do a V3, well the simple answer is I loved V2 but he just wasn't in scale with all the others so I just have to have him in scale. Also working on Faker. I was actually working on them at the same time and they were both at about the same stage. Then some extra sculpting was needed on heman so Faker shot into the lead, he should be done soon. Anyhoo, in the meantime here's a sneak peak at the upcoming He-man V3 and Faker.
