I might be wrong about this, and I don't want to insult him, but since Terry Higuchi came on board as a designer, the figures don't seem to function as well as they did when Bill Benecke was on board.
Am I wrong in thinking that Terry is now doing what Bill was doing before??
I might be wrong, I'm not sure.
Then, on the other hand, we have softer pelvis plastic and capes (which is AWESOME).
I've noticed though that the quality control is just inferior to how it was the first year and a half of the line... the neck pegs and heads don't pop together the same way anymore (it's cheaper plastic and the fit isn't the same). The joints are still loose in many cases
I just wish they'd improve these things because the characters and SCULPTS are KILLER!!

Can someone PM me the US number for Matty? I want to talk to someone who might has a clue of what is going on.
Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
I got my sub order today. Although I never owned him as a kid and he's definitely not one of my favorite designs, I like this version of Snout Spout. His joints are tight and his accessories are good.
Swiftwind, on the other hand, I can't wait to get rid of. I have no interest or attachment to this horse/flying unicorn. Begone from my Abode of Absolute Evil will this alabaster equine be! His dazzling array of rainbow hues will not brighten my dark and dank dwelling while I still draw breath. Away with thee and trouble me no more!

Exactly. It's been said before but it bears repeating: When Scott was posting and wondering why subs were down saying something like "We announced mini-comics, a create-a-character contest, and Filmation rights! What more does it take?"
This is the answer right here. If you continually waste people's TIME, it doesn't matter how awesome the product is. Time is the great commodity.
THIS TOO: it's hugely disappointing when such amazing product arrives in hand incorrectly with reversed shoulders (bad paint, etc.) and then we get to hear "This is your King Hiss, people." Mattel clearly thinks people forget about stuff like this, but the lower sub sales for next year proves that we don't. I hope they understand that.
Money, especially these days, is also a major commodity, and when people like you spend $40 for overnight shipping and end up having to wait until the following week to get the delivery, well, then you've been screwed in the realms of time and money! If Mattel thinks that won't translate into lower sales, they're either out of touch or not paying attention...either way, they're wrong.

The Cradle Will Rock As I'm Drivin' Down Highway 40 In My Big Ol' Pick Up Truck.
Got my sub package today, which was faster than it's been since early Spring. It seemed especially fast considering I got my shipping notice on the 15th.
And so we have an elephant man and a winged horse that I'm fairly sure will take me on a wonderful adventure through space and time, perhaps to see colors that can only be tasted, and hear sounds that could only be described as "thick."
Seriously though, Snout Spout is certainly a sound figure, but the nostalgia didn't come flowing in as I thought it would! We'll see. I think he's gona grow on me.
Swiftwind is, as usual, a testament to the fact that the 4H KNOW thier animals! There's a lot of detail - I mean, there's even little wrinkles on the lips! Someday I may have this crazy LSD madness hangin' from the ceiling of the toyroom!

Got my sub figures today ( I live in NY) THANKFULLY swift winds wings are NOT an issue on mine, HOWEVER there is a huge glob of dried paint on the chest right next to the harness, i can probably get that off with some work and hot water.
snout spout... awesome figure.... EXCEPT for the rubber undies.... i like the concept, HOWEVER the black paint on the belt part? within 30 seconds of bein removed and turning his waiste, i lost about, 20% of the black paint to chipping right off... i guess i can repaint it... but idk, maybe they should find a different paint.
Also, I am expecting bubble power she-ra to arrive on tuesday, I chose standard ups shipping for both. i do NOT choose usps EVER, the two times that i did by accident, i never received a shipping confirmation or tracking ## and they figures took like 2 weeks to show up. saving the $4 was NOT worth the aggrevation and phone calls. Just an fyi but newgistics sucks

No Two Bad we... Well, that's actually just too bad.
Snout Spout is awesome!! Swift Wind is actually amazing. He's got great detail & the color apps. are on par.
I've opened these and I like them, even if they aren't perfect.
Swifwind's an automatic A+ for the fantastic sculpt and the fact that the price is about the best in the line so far for what you're getting.
I think the joints are all really well placed for a highly articulated display piece. As a toy, I'm wishing he could look to the side and that many of the joints either move more or were more obvious about how far they could move before breaking. I read that the mask uses a magnet, but there isn't one in there. It still stays on perfectly, regardless.
Overall, I'm just being nitpicky since the sculpt and colors are excellent.
Snout Spout is appropriately goofy to me. The staction head is cooler, but all of the hate towards this version's head makes me adore him even more as a tragic freak.
Snout Spout is an odd mix in the QC department for me. Great joints, straight accessories, flawlessly attached trunk. Meanwhile, it seems that he was packaged while the paint was still tacky. I love the glossy red on the backpack, but this sort of finish requires a thick coat of paint. The incredibly soft shorts are what we've always wanted, but paint doesn't dry as quickly or adhere to this sort of stuff the way it does with other materials. The package tray kept 2 large chunks of black from the belt, the buckle is a bit of a mess and the think red paint on the backpack's air-intakes were applied too thick and got all mushed up like it was chewed on.
Oh well, I'll be able to fix it. Nobody loves Snout Spout, so I'll just have to give him some extra love.
I still don't get why it would have been difficult to make the collar removable and to include a crown for Spirit. The saddle could have stayed on and I wouldn't have cared. But to leave out a tiny little crown? To not make the collar removable? Gaaaah. Seeing pictures posted here and on AFI of a half-dressed Spirit with Adora makes me go...![]()
I've mentioned this before, but I'll tell it again
Shortly after Swift Wind appeared in the case at SDCC, I was standing with Eric from the 4G, and we were looking at the horse.
I asked him, "Are the wings removable?"
He said, "What?"
I said, "Can you take the wings off to make Spirit."
He said, "oh I think so; I think they may need to for the packaging."
I let it go. I am not sure he got what I meant.
Obviously the 4H sculpt the figures and then the designers turn those sculpts into toys, so that explains why Eric wouldn't necessarily be sure whether the wings were removable.
What troubled me was that he didn't seem to understand why I asked the question
If one isn't familiar at all with POP, then one wouldn't know about Spirit. Maybe he just didn't know. Or maybe I misunderstood. It was odd though.
It just makes no sense to not make this horse both Spirit and Swift Wind. It's not like Battle Cat, where Cringer is much smaller.
It's almost insulting if this was done on purpose to sell another horse, especially since more people are likely to buy a new character horse than a Spirit version of this horse.
They could sell Storm, Arrow, Moonbeam, Sundancer, Charger, Winter, etc.
Why do this to a loyal customer base? I don't get it. It's just low if it was planned this way
The only way I will buy Spirit is if he comes in a Multi-pack with Kowl and Madame Razz & Broom. That would be a cool SDCC Exclusive... Or Power Com exclusive but it better not be more than $50.

I remember I was right next to you when you asked at the Comic Con!
You wanna know what I think? I'm still shocked we are getting Swift Wind. I mean... it's awesome! I have wanted a Filmation accurate Swift wind all my life! So yeah, the holes in the shoulders are kinda lazy, and yes, he could have sported a crown but I'm still happy. I think part of it is the really reasonnable price he's going for. I mean, he's a 100 per cent new sculpt.
If they milk it down the road into another horse, or spirit, well, so be it, they've got to be able to reuse that mold somehow I guess.![]()
But yeah, a crown would have been nice. It could have actually been part of the head sculpt since the helmet would have hide it. Since there is a magnet holding the helmet, I think it will be quite easy to customize a crown that stays firmly attached to his head thanks to the magnet underneath it !![]()
Oh come on, the the collar not being removable is not that big of a deal. Same goes for plugs. How often are you going to display him as SPirit? How often do you display Battle Cat without his armor?
Can someone PM me the US number for Matty? I want to talk to someone who might has a clue of what is going on.

was surprised that i got mine today.
i supose i like snout spout. but yeah, very goofy head. everything else about him i like.
its cool he's got new rubber underwear.
swifty is something. problem though. one of the wings just keeps popping out, was already broken on the inside.
I bought TWO 2013 Subscription as support, because of the promise that showing support will ensure 2014 will include ALL the major POP and NA characters.
Finally got my shipping confirmation!
Took pretty long this time...

I checked my credit card activity online today, and to my dismay saw that there wasn't even a pending charge on my account for my November 15th order, and pending charges show up almost immediately.I'm afraid there may be an extra layer of incompetence from Digital River this time.
I just wanted to give anyone that was waiting on their order a heads up. I just spoke to customer service, which to my surprise was actually somewhat helpful this time, and was told that some of the figures from other lines were still en route to their warehouse and not yet available for shipping. He stated several times that the figures weren't back ordered, they just hadn't arrived in house yet. This seems to be what is causing the shipping delay in my case at least. Don't ask me why they didn't have these ready for shipment on sale day. I was told that my Masters figures would be shipping on Monday, and the figures I purchased from the DC Retro line would be going out a little later. Take this as you will; who knows if the information is accurate or not. It still doesn't explain why I don't have a pending charge on my card, so I guess I'll just cross my fingers.

These figures looks very nice. I can't wait for my SW.
My figures arrived yesterday 9 days after my credit card was charged and no sign of She-Ra. As soon as I opened Swiftwind and tried to plug the wings that came off due to the wonderful packaging job Mattel always delivers I noticed part of the peice that clips into the holes was broken off cleanly. It wasn't even in the box. I truly wish that I could say exactly what I'm feeling after spending all this money, but alas, I can't. I also wish I could tell Mattel what they can do with all the money they've squandered loyal customers out of for poor design work, but alas, I can't. That's all the griping I'm going to do on this subject.
Jitsu should have had his 200X belt!!!
I got a shipping notification for my first order (USPS), the notice said it went out and the notice was sent 11:30 pm Friday night. So, what does that mean? That on Friday, after the post office was closed, the digitial river people got all the stickers and stuff pasted on the box? So, if I am lucky it will actually go out today (Saturday) unless digital river closes for the weekend and can't drop the package off to the post office until Monday, right?
Ugh, all that plus the second package, which was sent using UPS and sent 45 minutes after the first order, has not been sent out at all yet.
This was a big month in particular that Matty (or Matty pushing DR) should have had their "stuff" together. Us subscribers are getting Swift Wind and need/are excited about BP She-Ra to ride her. Had they shipped the subs the two days early like expected and then quickly following up by shipping the Nov. 15 orders ON the day they were ordered, many of us would have had Swift Wind AND She-Ra by this weekend and been really happy overall with Mattel and happy spending $$$$ with Mattel. As it is, I've finally received Swift Wind but don't even have a shipping notice for She-Ra and I'm annoyed with Mattel that I have 3 She-Ras right now and none can sit on the danged horse.
Still waiting on shipping for my 2 BP She-Ras that I ordered the minute the sale started. I could have bought them off the secondary market and had them in my hands already for literally a mere few bucks more!
