Well he'll look exactly like the source material. He snarls more than smiles.

I'm hoping he'll look more mini-comics than Filmation. If he looks like the 'toon, I'll pass!

It's true!

But I stil prefer the mini version, where his limbs are proportionate, his jaws large & threatening & his appearance is ancient & hardened.

Huh?

He looks to be on death's door in the mini-comic! His jaw looks like it's about to fall off, most of his teeth have fallen out and he's even developed a wattle! And personally I think his wrinkles make him look more aged than ancient.

I think Filmation made him look very regal and threatening, but I wouldn't mind it AT ALL if the toy had much bigger wings.

As far as the dragon, I hope the Four Horsemen use a lot of artistic interpretation and update him to a much more menacing look, without a huge beer gut.

As for Red G looking regal - the tiny wings & fat belly just don't look regal to me.

Basically, I'm not holding my breath for this figure.

True that. Although there's a difference between looking Gandalf old and Grandpa Simpson old.

(He's also the second oldest beign on Eternia in the Filmation series. The stories are pretty similar).

Right, but immortal* beings don't age the same way we do, so I don't think he needs to look old. Much like He-Man is the most powerful man in the universe, but he doesn't have the physical muscles proportionate to his actual power.

*I can't remember if he's actually immortal, but he's obviously different from mortals in the life expectancy department!

The more pics I see of source Material.....The less Im impressed, so Its great that I am not shackled to it via Sub!

If he was based on the Minicomics...Im in, 'Dragons Gift' was always a Childhood Favorite! BUt the Red cartoon version is awful -IMO- so thats a pass!

great birthday present...knowing that Im not locked in!! yay!

(and yes....I cant see how he will NOT look like a Cokkie Jar!)

Ideally he'll come with two sets of interchangeable wings. When he's in flight his wings become much larger.
