Was Swiftwind always significantly larger than Battlecat? I've long been wondering just what I was going to do with a giant winged rainbow unicorn but he's a spectacular figure in hand. However, he ends up making Battlecat look kinda puny

While Battlecat is a fictional cat race, have you compared a horse and Lion/Tiger size? Horses do stand a lot higher than our largest cats, here on planet earth. Battlecat's size compared to horses or humans tend to change greatly depending on the artist.
It's the long legs and wings that make Swiftwind grand in comparison. I bet the griffin will look huge with those same wings.

Yes to all of the comments above. Also, if you look at some of the She-Ra episodes that featured Battle Cat and Swift Wind, Swift Wind was taller. The 4H matched the proportions very well.
Why? He-Man, in scale looks like, at least, the body of Battle Cat should be close, if not bigger, than a horse. Taller no...but "bigger" yes.
As someone who owns three horses, and gets to see up close how large they are in real life, I agree. Seeing them in fields, or on the tube can be misleading. They are very large, solid animals.
Of course, just like any living thing, they come in all sizes however. Some are even LARGER then mine. But to be fair, I've never been right up against a tiger, or lion for comparison!
So, really both sides might have valid points here!

Agreed. Battle Cat's size scale is already much bigger than a regular big cat as it is. The next level of big would be that of Battle Lion, which to me looked way over the top.
Swift Wind has to be proportional to She-Ra as well, who is scaled to be the same height as He-Man.

I don't know if any of you have ever seen or heard of a shire horse? They are massive, just crazy big. I too think the 4H got it just right. Horses can be massive and I would say bigger than the largest Cats. But the size difference dosen't make the cats any less leathel.
I too think Battle Cat could do serious damage to swifty... IF....he was able to get close enough to swifty before having a unicorn horn driven through his heart, lungs or spine or having a hoof imbeded into his brain. Well his helmet would stop that I suppose, but panthor is another matter.
Even at close range Swifty would be able to stand his ground with Panthor. Unicorn horns have been shown to become super heated and so sharp they can cut and melt mettel, and they have also been shown to teleport and have incredable magical powers. If there ever was a fight I don't think it would necessarly go in the cats favour. But as we all know SW & BC wouldn't fight!

With Swifty, Granamyr and that crappy Griffin, Battle Cat and Panthor should have come with optional wings to make them seem a bit bigger. They're getting dwarfed by the other beasties!
I mean, He-Man gets various armor and weapon upgrades, Spirit gets wings and a horn, The Sorceress should upgrade The Sword of Power to give Battle Cat wings so he can have more of an edge too! Or at least poop on Skeletor from a great height!
