Anti-Eternia in MOTUC

OK I need to know why this was not allowed in MOTUC (Along with other material) I asked but no one seems to give me a REAL answer just like "Because they can't"

I need a REAL answer!

OK I know they can make figures out of these properties:

Filmation
Movie (Only of the characters that had Action Figures in the vintage line)
Mini Comics
MYP

OK these are the ones I know can someone give me a list of what can & can't be done and the reason's why?

Probably because they can't get the rights, all I can find about Anti-Eternia is a German cassette..and a few customs, and Mattel probably can't obtain the rights to something that appears to be obscure...we still haven't gotten the missing guys yet from POP, or MOTU...do we really need more distraction from them? I can find more on Illumina than I can on Anti-Eternia....and they won't even make her.

Can you post pics of the source material these would be based on? I'm curious what these are supposed to look like as I've only seen a custom figure so far.

All I can find official is the cassette cover, and I did a few searches on it

And so far as I can see, that is all I can find on it....and He-Man looks like He-Man..so who knows where the Black skin came from...probably just a customizers, idea of what they thought it should be, and that is what everyone assumes to be true?.....not sure...

The concept of Anti-Eternia based on the german audioplay from the 80`s, where there is a twisted parallel Eternia where everthing is turned upside down. Anti-He-Man was described as a black He-Man with red hair.

The only source material is in the german audioplay, there wasn`t an image of this He-Man.

From what I understand, NO ONE is exactly sure where these rights lay at the moment.

Yeah, I think the rights are literally in legal limbo and no one is sure who owns the rights or exactly how the rights would be spelled out in legal contracts.

I would love to have several Anti-Eternia variants in MOTUC as a multi-pack at some point. But I doubt we'll ever see that past what some great customizers are able to do.

Anti-Eternia is a concept based on a property owned by a US company, written for a German company that went bankrupt, written by a now deceased German author.

EUROPA went bankrupt? Are you kidding? It´s the single most successfull company for producing audioplays in Germany.

I thought wrongly they were bought out at the end of the eighties by Bertelsmann Music Group because of financial troubles - but hey! everyone makes a mistake sometimes. *g*

Additionally, it looks like they can also do:

Golden Books (Goat Man was shown on the screen at SDCC)

US MOTU Magazine (Strobo was shown on the screen at SDCC)

UK Comics (Horde Prime UK comics head is coming with the HP figure)

Jetlag (The *shudder* Scientists and I think Mara were projected on the screen at SDCC)

DC Comics (i.e. Battleground Teela)

MVCreations Comic

Power Tour (they've mentioned they can do Songster if they want)

Mattel style guides

They can't do:

Marvel (Star) Comics - don't know why - probably legal stuff since Marvel owned Star comics.

Live action film (except for Blade, Saurod and Gwildor) - not sure of the reason but it's probably because of $$$

German audioplays - because of rights issues it seems

Concept Characters from The Power & Honor Foundation Catalog and Tomart's Action Figure Digest - unfortunately, TG has stated that they need proof these concepts were created by the artists during their time of employment at Mattel. I'd imagine this could be resolved through some sort of waiver signed by the artists. Also, they DID make Gygor and didn't need proof for him AFAIK so maybe there's hope for some of these.

Not sure about the status of the Brazilian comics. I'm guessing they could probably do stuff from those, but who knows.

It's a shame because original plans for volume 2 of the MVC comic had a companion comic with M@A on Anti-Eternia, and we could have seen their concepts then.

Actually, come to think of it, wasn't there a variant cover with the Anti-Eternian designs on?

I would love to see an Anti-Eternian Bat Creature (AE Stratos) in MOTUC

They may not be able to use the Name "Anti-He-Man" if it's copyrighted right?

But I think they've said they can do any character they own in any color they want?

So we could get a black He-Man with red hair from the tapes or that awesome pink Battle Cat from the MVC cover?

The amount of people that want a white suit Marlena, a silver Optikk, Blue Skinned Hordak, Faker-She-Ra etc makes me think some people would like it.
