    Hall of Warriors

So I need to brush up on my skills, and what better way than to practice with something you love. Tonight I got to thinking about those who have wielded the power and thought of doing a series of portraits of them all, sort of like Grayskull's hall of warriors.

So to begin, here is the vintage style She-Ra. I will be doing a Filmation version too, so to distinguish, in my canon this is Dare's daughter, also named Adora, in honor of her late grandmother. Just for kicks, let's call her He-Ra.

I love an all inclusive canon!

    Beautiful!
Where are they? Where are your friends now? Tell me about the loneliess of good, He-Man. Is it equal to the loneliness of evil?

    That is truly AWESOME!

Love the colors, shading and it's quite dramatic.

I'm actually hoping that MATTYC will release a She-ra in her figure outfit someday. That would be just cool!

Thank you, everyone! I'm glad you liked it. Here is He-Ro, son of He-Man. Since so little is known about him, even his over all color scheme, I took the original character design and added elements from He-Man's armor in the 1987 movie, since they were similar in concept. I thought of portraying him a bit older and more regal. So here is King Dare of Grayskull...

But for me, it looks a bit like He-Ro has used a lipstick... .

LOL! It does, and that's after I toned down the redness. HAHAH!

And GrtEternal, I too hope they release She-Ra in her figure outfit... but with the heads being released, I'm thinking they might not... (yet)...

I dont know exactly why, but this feels SOOO Mortal Kombat to me. It might be the parchment and the Shao-Kahn-esque outfit .... weird. Well done though.

    Thanks!

And interestingly enough, I've steered clear of Mortal Kombat all these years.

Okay, updating with an image of He-Ro's queen, Kay-La. Again, I went with the original design, and then made her more mature and a bit more regal, while still retaining the warrior within.

I figure once Teela is gone, Kay-La, being queen, will be the new Sorceress. When Dare and Kay-La's daughter marries, her husband will be the Sorcerer, etc.

The next character I do should be someone from the past...

Thank you. I think She-Ra's my favorite too.

And here is the next one in the series. Out of the past, I present Wun-Dar, the savage he-man. After Wun-Dar escaped Tundaria and rescued the Goddess, he came to the court of Eternos where the princess begged his help to rescue her father from the clutches of Karak Nul. After the harrowing rescue, the princess and Wun-Dar married. Eventually she bore a son, Miro, whose own sons are said to resemble him.

Wun-Dar's always struck me as the John Carter of the bunch...

Thank you, Frankenstin. BTW, I checked your blog and the recent art is coming along quite well.

Up next on our tour, we have a painting rescued from the royal palace of Eternos, before it's destruction in the second war with the Horde. It depicts King Miro with his twin sons, Keldor and Randor.

It's interesting to note that Keldor does not look along with the others, but at the swords hanging across the room, which you can see in the mirror behind them. Historians have debated for ages whether his plans for conquest were already formulating.

Also of note, you'll see King Miro wearing the gem of Protection, given to him by the Goddess...

I love an all inclusive canon!
