Oh, I wasn't trying to be rude or sarcastic or anything, I just thought it was a valid comparison because Mark Taylor and Roger Sweet were involved with a LOT of the vintage line and was trying to understand. Thanks for the compliment, by the way.

I can't find it now but there was a thread awhile back listing all the .org members who have worked on the property.

A house divided can not stand. That is all I can say when I read this thread.

We are coming upon the 30th anniversary and this should be a great time in the motu world.

I have the highest respect for this site and it's senoir members, I hope we can enjoy this vote and out come and look to a great start to motuc in 2012. Together, friends..together. In the motu world,we only have each other.

oh boy. i think the point was missed. well I'll admit I did not know of those other specific individuals who worked on the property.

let me please restate this again that it makes more sense:

"people who have not worked on this property are certainly entitled to their opinions, but to argue with members who HAVE worked on this property, about the validity of a storyline or concept, is baseless".

does that make more sense? dont take it as an offense that i really didnt realize JVS3 has contributed so much, i didnt know he had worked on the property, thank you for clearing that up.

I see her in a completely different light (pun not intended). For me, she's a symbol of something else:

*I made this picture poster with Baena's art more than 2 months ago.

I mean, I just plain love Illumina's look, colours, design and what we know of her proposed story line...but if we get her in MOTUC, it also means the following to me:

1) Mattel really listens to the requests of their customers and wants to make them happy and excited about stuff
2) Mattel will make cool toys if people want them (no politics)
3) Another, unique figure never produced for 200X, which is awesome!
4) Anything is possible (if they have the rights

)

So, yeah, hope.

Sign me up in this group as well. At first I didnt care about Illumina. If we get her fine, whatever. If we don't get her fine, whatever.

But after all this "Operation: Illumina" BS being shoved down my throat on a daily basis and being voted "more popular and important" than certain vintage, Filmation, or whatever characters that appeared in anything more than a panel or ad of a comic...I'm beyond sick of it. Illumina is getting more attention than seriously important potential figures...and....it's...wrong.

I love Val and Emiliano, their work they do, and have done for MOTU over the past decade plus. I love the .org, I live on it the whole time I'm on the internet...which is almost daily. They definitely deserve to be involved in MOTU somehow, someway. I wouldve loved if they had slots for the 30th figures. I wish they were writing all the bios...then they'd all be excellent if you ask me!

Do all these Illumina supporters REALLY love this character that they know so little about who appeared in a single page ad for a future comic that never came out as much as they say they do??? Or do they keep pushing for it for other reasons. Which I assume is the case most of the time. You can't tell me Illumina is cooler and would make a better figure than Huntara who also had an episode of PoP of the same name.

Is Huntara cooler and would make a better figure than Illumina? It's all relative to individual tastes. I'll take Illumina first, but not only Illumina.

Unfortunately, you're creating sides. I don't know many folks here who don't want both Illumina and Huntara.

Technically, Mattel could just as easily turn around and make figures of both submitted choices on their subscriber poll, as well as the top few on both the Org and German polls. Clearly there's a strong interest in the characters.

I honestly like them equally. To me, Huntara and Illumina are very similar:

- Very cold personalities
- Unusual skin colour
- White hair
- Great warriors
- Loners

I think they're both equally as cool and would make awesome figures. If Illumina was in Filmation, she totally would have been Huntara-esque and you would kill for her.

If you switched the two and Huntara was the character in the MVC ad (with no cartoon time, and we just learned about her planned storyline in an interview), you might feel about Huntara like you do Illumina. I would still want both, though.

Just like I LOVE the Sorceress design in the Filmation bible (the purple skinned one). I totally would love a figure of her as well!

I wouldn't want her to be *the* Sorceress though. A new character or a different Sorceress. Hey, we got Vikor and Demo-Man...why not this freakin awesome Sorceress?!

If Illumina wins the poll, and does indeed get made into a MOTUC figure, that's great news. But the very next question from all the fans is going to be "When are we getting her white cat steed?", at which point Toyguru will probably slap himself in the face, and sigh. A lot.

Huntara, ewww ... she has a mohawk for crying out loud ... the purple skin and the red lipstick aren't helping either ... ewww

Anyway, my top votes were the Masks of Power demons and (mini-comic) Delora, but since they are not going to win, I'll be happy to see Illumina win this one

Very true. I guess I need to stop looking at this whole thing as a "you're getting 1 of these" as a figure. Can't help it though, there's always gonna be paranoia.

And perhaps you're right there. I'm obviously #BlindedByNostalgia, no denying that!! There's also an evil, 80s loving Vintage Purist™ deep inside me for when we debate which characters are more important than others.

Seriously though, the people who come in this thread to throw lighter fluid on the flames should just stop. We understand that you have a different preference. That is great. We will NOT change our minds because you don't agree. See, there is this thing called free will and we all have it. That is what makes us individuals and not a collective. So in the interest of time, just stop trying to change ours.

How much more info was known about Fearless Photog than Illumina? More was known about Illumina until Mattel forced Val to take the info down. So why can't fans crave a design they think is cool? To me the design is better than BG Evil-Lyn and even some of the Star Sisters. Does that mean I think she is more important? No. I just PREFER her design over the other ones. Why can't it all exist? Why does it have to be one or the other?

She was in three, technically (the dates for the comic kept changing), but we learned about a lot of her proposed story over the years. Read the bio section on the image below (it's all proposed story). We learned Sleetah;s name after this was made (Illumina's cat)...and a couple other tidbits of story RE: Guardians of Grayskull and that she would join the Masters!

Besides, I don't hate every aspect of Filmation, I own all the DVD's (twice, bought them in French before the English version came out) and I have a small collection of cels and backgrounds ... I just have a strong disliking for the majority of those one time characters, which I find mostly bland and uninspired ...

I wanna know where people get that Illumina winning = you'll never get any of the other characters on the list? I can almost guarantee you they were all on the road map to begin with- this poll just helps ONE of them get made sooner. Seeing as how Scott has said he needs a big piece of support evidence for her inclusion to the Mattel big wigs, it's pretty obvious this is probably her best shot. I hope everyone gets EVERYTHING they want but people claiming it's forced down their throat are being a tad over dramatic.
