Reducing the production numbers would be logical for Mattel.
1. They don't overproduce figures like Gygor or Palace Guards
2. If there are fast sellouts in 2012, people would again buy more subs for 2013, like they did in 2010 after the massive 5-minute-sellouts.
You see at the number of remaining Tytus, Gygor & Palace Guards at Black Friday that Mattel doesn't have a feeling for a good production amount of figures besides the sub numbers.
After 3 years, you see what they thought in 2010 to produce Gygor, Mo-Larr Set & Palace Guards. They thought, they would sell amazing! They didn't. Now they sit on the figures and don't know what to do with them.
Reducing the production is the only way to insure, Mattel didn't produce thousands of figures over fan demand.
