The tank guy could totally fit in as a member of Project Photog given that it was an Earth based team.
Cool designs. Very cool designs.
It's great being Lord of the Thundercats - especially hanging out with Cheetara - but the one draw back is that He-Man can still beat me up.

Just saw this thread, and WOW!!! I'd LOVE to see these in the MOTUC line!!! Amazing!
SOOOO the third guy kinda looks like our new friend from the mini-comics?/
Goat-Man---Goat-Man---Goat-Man
sold. Every single one of those is absolute win.
I completely agree. I love seeing old concepts refined and realized.
Perfect. Freaking awesome.
Wow! I agree, I'd buy MOTUC versions of these.(I hadn't seen this thread until today.)
I wish I could still purchase a copy of that catalog...![]()

not feeling these guys. the tank guy looks awkward. the middle dude's helmet looks like a chess piece or a tea pot. the flying character is probably the best. still better than the star sisters. but not that great.

This thread felt like it needed to come to the top since we're actually getting the 3 figures now - and its fun to compare the actual figures to Emil's concept!
I like Emiliano's versions better, since they have more unique, sculpted components, but I realize the cost issues surrounding the figures requiring them to be snap-on armor pieces instead.
I miss the cape on "Vykron", as well.
It is amazing how our wishes are coming true!

Really wish we could have gotten the toys based on Emil's designs.

My opinon on this thread from earlier doesn't change, and looking at these compared to what we are getting, well: I'd be lying if I said these weren't better. Of course they are! However, I don't fully disagree with the cost-cutting way that Mattel has presented them to us. Sure, I'd like the three fully sculpted figures, but I don't dislike the looks of what we are getting either.
So I guess, as usual, Emiliano has fantastic ideas that I would like to see, but I'm not disappointed with Mattel's result (except for the Sorceress....Emiliano's was far superior and shoulda been used but, another argument for another day). In the end I'm glad the total cost of the pack will be far cheaper with the way it is, and I've got extra bodies around to fill in the gaps anyway.

Alexx has a blog?! Come on in and check out Toys and Tomfoolery! You won't regret it...until the next morning.
close enough. There's a few touches on the real figures I prefer, but these were still just perfect.
I can accept subtle (to me) changes, ect.
I think I like how Military's boots work, with toes, rather than an exposed boot (as I understand/see the realized design). I like that Space helemt is less like Boba's in Emil's design but I am quite happy with the real figure. Even the "diaper" so far. We'll see once in hand.
But as I've said before, you take a superb and knowledgeable designer like Emil and it cant help but be almost completely accurate. Certain design elements translate a certain way.
