    Answers to WTFWTK 2.70!

Mattel has once again provided answers to your questions.
Thanks again to them for taking the time to answer these!
Check out their answers to your Round 70 questions!

This round of questions were selected by JVS3.
Thanks to that fan for their help!

    -------------------

    1. O'hartley: Can we expect 200X's Snake Armor He-Man figure in the MOTUC line?

That is a very cool variant of He-Man and certainly one we could do in the Classics style, but nothing to announce right now.

    2. Bulkhide: With 2012 being both the 30th Anniversary of MOTU as well as the 10th Anniversary of the 200X Remake of MOTU, are there any plans for one or two 200X surprises thrown in for fans of the 200X series?

There is nothing specific to the 10th anniversary of the 200X show/toy line planned. Per fan request, the 200X Keldor Swords are coming later in 2012.

    3. DamnSmooth: Do fans need to worry about the filmation license running out before you can get to some of their favorite charactors or is the license good for the life of the MOTUC line?

At this time we have it for the long haul (at least as of this writing, things can and do change). But at this time it doesn't look like it will be going away any time soon!

    4. Skeletortilla: Will Mattel work on simplifying/speeding up the return/exchange process for defective items sold on Mattycollector? It currently takes almost a week just to get a response from Digital River. Some type of online form would be great where you can sign in to your Mattycollector account, enter the defective product UPC, describe the problem, select refund or exchange, and be sent a postage paid return label via email the same day.

Yes, we are constantly working on improving this process.

    5. Prahvus: Are the Meteorbs included in the current MOTUC roadmap?

It is something we are looking into. When and how they will show up remains to be seen!

That answer about having NO plans for 200X's anniversary makes me sad. 10 years is a big thing.

BAM! I hope that makes people a bit less Filmation-paranoid now. The 3 figures or so a year is a good thing. We still need more NA, PoP, 200X and comic/mini-comic characters to mix in with the 80's MOTU figure characters. I hope we see a good, even mix for the years to come!

It's typical of Mattel Management. TG has stated before that Mattel doesn't hate 200X, but I bet it's still a four letter word to his bosses.

    How exciting about the Meteorbs!

Did we already know this info.? It kinda sounds familiar, but I'm not sure.

I would reconsider buying a sub if I knew Meteorbs were likely.

They should just make the meteorbs Christmas bulbs.

I tease, I tease (although that would be a cool item to sell). I'm just not sure how they will do the meteorbs. They're a lot of tooling and not super popular.

That's a non-answer (again). But if what TG said is true, then it means they're ONLY looking into it now, which means the Meteorbs were NOT included in the MOTUC roadmap so far !

I guess Meteorbs just joined the ranks of the playsets and other "less-feasible" MOTU items...

Too bad. I'd love to see them included too. Let's just hope this line survives long enough to see the Meteorbs.

Thumbs up for the positive remark regarding Meteorbs! I would be open to them coming in two separate packs- one evil, one good. Or just do them all at once in a set and sell it outside of the sub

I really hope Toygruu doesn't believe fans are dumb enough to still believe in this lie !

We've been told that kind of BS for more than 3 years, now. And NOTHING important has ever changed.

I hope this means we'll get some kind of multi-pack for the Meteorbs. That would be awesome. Put some modern engineering into them and make them look cooler would be fantastic!

I'm a saddened by the response to my 200X question, even though it's kinda what I expected.

What can they really do with Meteorbs that would be worth it? They would be 100% new tooling and they do not much look like MOTU either. I cannot see them taking the risk with these guys if they are nervous about Illumina who would not need much new tooling dollars.

I know these meteor creatures only because they were in one issue of the comic, they were never released as toys where I lived. I presume their release in Europe was very limited as a whole?

On top of this they looked pretty much exactly like the toy in comics they appeared. Maybe they should just re-release the old molds if they exist as scale isn't really in question with these creatures either?

I honestly cannot see very broad demand for them.

I would LOVE to have the Meteorbs! Bashasaurus and Meteorbs; they are the 'not likely' things i want badly (everything else I want will probably get made, apart from Artilla).

I think (just like they did back in the 80s) that it would be a great way for Mattel to get into the modern Transformers popularity.

However they would probably have to do a newer/different type of transformation (perhaps unique to certain meteorb characters). Maybe even make them more like Rock Lords looking since they are apparently supposed to have a connection with the rock warriors.

If not then I'm pretty sure that they would at least be larger have more articulation than the vintage ones.

They were quite present in stores over here. After the line had ended, some stores stapled them to the regular figures to sell of their stock.

I actually liked them when I was a kid ... not sure if I need them in MOTUC, though

    Yay! Meteorbs!
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

I think I would prefer everything else before the meteorbs - darkspectre is right, they are a lot of new sculpting/tooling an not hugely popular, I would hate for them to take the SKU of another vehicle or a small playset
