YAY! Songster! I'm SO happy you guys interviewed him! I found the contact info for him and posted it sometime last year, I believe and then Chris Vint interviewed him and now you guys. Ironically, everyone who interviewed him didn't see my posts.

    I look forward to this!

Not sure if I heard right, but I think Super-Fan Ben also came upon the information as well as met Songster, providing info to Chris Vint and some other podcasting-parties.

Nevertheless. Awesome to have him interviewed in more than one MOTU/POP-related podcast!!!

Songster! I wish I saw the Power Tour. I don't think it was in Tucson. If it was, it wasn't very well promoted.

Absolutely no nostalgic feelings for the tour being a European.
The stories are nice to hear though and Doug sounds like a nice guy.
No comment on the Songster figure
I hope the guitar will be an axe or something

I have no feelings for it and I'm American.

Also no comment on the figure.

Mattel can do anything, as long as it's not part of the main sub.

    Fun show!

Well, Songster is one of the characters from the worlds of He-Man and She-Ra.

So putting him in the sub is legit..

I have no connection whatsoever to the Power Tour as I never seen it as a kid. I did know about it though. Probably from commercials or magazines or something like that. Doug Howard seems like such a cool guy from both his interviews I heard so far that I kinda want a Songster figure in Classics even though I was somewhat "meh" to the idea at first.

Oh and I think I saw a Power Tour penant or something on ebay once before on my regular "Masters Universe" searches for random oddball vintage items. They are pretty rare though as that's like the only thing I've ever really seen and I've been regularly searching for MOTU stuff on ebay since like 2000-2001.

I also remember reading X-Entertainment's Power Tour article many years back and thought it was awesome. He's got lots of cool pics on there, especially Blast Attak! What a cool costume! And the Man-At-Arms pic on there looks straight off vintage artwork and one of my MOTU t-shirts. http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0760/

Awesome as always. Keep the Gooble coming! Love it.

Ah, so it WAS you! I mentioned during the show that I thought it was you but wasn't entirely sure. The memory starts to go when you get to be my age.

Very fun episode, a shame that it was over rather quickly

    Hey Val,
in the episode you asked for a touring schedule of the Power Tour. I found some dates in the US Motu Magazines:

I saw The Power Tour at Radio City Music Hall!!!! It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

I wonder if I was there the day he hurt himself. I remember Songster being kind of based stage-right the whole time. I would guess that also had something to do with the change of the staging (because Radio City, as large as it is, is not an arena, it's a proscenium stage, so the show had to have been different).

The detailing was amazing. They had banners with cities from the Filmation cartoons. It was that detailed.

There was video, fire, lasers, monsters in the audience. I was in the fourth or fifth row on the aisle and Beast Man scared the CRAP out of me!!

I'm so sad that many of you didn't see it.

    It trumps the '87 movie.

It rivaled The Secret of the Sword.

    Just awesome.

As a showman, I can tell you that the adrenaline effect he talks about is absolutely true.

What he talks about as far as building up a defense and strength, that's also true.
After being on the national tour of "The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber," I was a different performer, singer, for the better.

I can't believe he took steroids for the vocal swelling. . That is like a HUGE no-no. . I guess he had no choice. I assume he had vocal troubles at the beginning - tours are rough in the beginning because your endurance isn't high enough. All of a sudden you meet the challenge.
