I was always looking forward to them and like almost every MOTUC item, I like them even more now that I have them in hand.

They actually are better than what I was expecting, but then I always thought they were pretty for what they are: great representations of the poster. (well, Tallstar's hair is lighter pink in that) They haven't swayed me on the toy-versions, though. I mean, sure, maybe Ram-Man might look hella awesome in the He-Ro, Son of He-Man deco, but would most folks really want the 4H to experiment on him?

I liked them when I saw them at SDCC and was excited to get them. Now that I have them I like them just as much. No change for me.

Unfair comparison as Ram-Man is an A List character and the most requested figure of the line.

Totally disagree with this logic. Mattel/the 4H have given the community the impression that they have the utmost respect for all the characters and fans. When you take that into consideration and all the precedents in place, I think all the A-List, Z-List etc. stuff kind of goes out the window. Or should.

No change. I liked them when announced, looked forward to getting them prior to that (once I actually knew who they were) and like them in hand (a few engineering goofs aside, of course).

I agree it's an unfair comparison, but for a different reason. Ram Man has a well established history in MOTU Media including cartoons, books and figures with a fairly stable design (there are slight variations across appearances, but it's mostly one design). It's reasonable to expect a MOTUC Ram-Man to appear as he has in his overwhelming number of appearances rather than concept art that few have seen. The star sisters have the toy protos, the poster and their very brief Filmation episode appearance to choose from. I think it's reasonable to expect that the MOTUC figures could follow any one of those designs as there isn't a clear 'favorite' based on number of appearances. It's more open to interpretation.

I'm not sure what you mean by no clear favorite. There was a campaign for toy versions for years and almost everyone talked about the toys in a matter-of-fact way.

    My opinion hasn't changed.

I'm happy to have them, even if they're not the versions I really love, they are a close second. As for individually, my favorites before I had them in hand went: Jewelstar > Tallstar > Starla. Now they are here I'm leaning towards Tallstar as my favorite, with Starla next and Jewelstar in last. Jewelstar needed a bit more jewel embellishment imo, and it doesn't help that while she photographs the best (depending on the condition of light used), she sort of falls flat if you don't have dramatic lighting to backlight her so her translucent parts shine. Aside from some questionable articulation choices and the over-long waists, I think they turned out more or less as I expected them to.
MOTUC wants: Modulok, Entrapta, Scorpia, Madame Razz, Sea Hawk, Spinnerella, Double Trouble, Glimmer, Angella, Sweet Bee, Mermista, Flutterina, Perfuma, Peekablue, Kowl, Loo-Kee, Huntara, Two-Bad, Extendar, Tung Lashor, Sssqueeze, Kayo, Darius, Drissi, Hydron, Sebrian, Flogg, Crita, Hoove, Staghorn, Crystoll, Quakke, Chef Allen

I just got these ladies today and they look even better than I had hoped. Being a huge vintage POP collector, the Star Sisters for me have always been the holy grail (I guess now the Bubble Carriage should be?) so I'm so excited to finally have them. Better late than never! As big of a vintage collector I am I have never been a fan of trying to incorporate vintage POP looks into this line. I'm glad that these figures in particular did not adhere to those prototype looks, especially Jewelstar. These figures in my opinion are some of the finest looking released so far in MOTUC.

I liked them to begin with, but like all MOTUC figures, I like them a lot more having them in front of me. I have a couple 4 ft black lights in the same room as my collection and they have some nice response from that.

I won't lie, I wasn't sure if I was going to like these figures or not. I thought Mattel had a rough sell on their hands. But once I got them I changed my mind. They're solid looking figures. Are they my favorite in the line? Nope, but that doesn't mean I hate them. I'm welcome to any vintage edition to MOTUC.

I'm pretty disappointed as a new subscriber to have them forced on me right from the beginning. I just think they are lame but I will probably keep them in the event that I have a daughter someday.

I knew I'd like them, but I love them even more than I thought I would!!! They're really great figures and I'm on a big PoP kick now: I'm even more excited than I was for everyone from Glimmer and Castaspella to Perfuma and Netossa! Bring them all on!
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

I didn't care for them when they were revealed and I still feel the same way. However, I am a completionist so I am glad to have them in my collection because they are a part of the MOTU/POP mythos.

I voted "Hasnt Changed" because I thought I would basically love them, and I do. Having them just reinforced what I already believed. They're great.

I loved them to begin with, but love them even more in hand. I only wish that Tallstar's legs at the hip moved better...I feel like she can only stand straight and that's it.
