If Ridley was sick of the direction the franchise had gone after Cameron, I don't see him bringing in the Predator species at all. The thought of Engineer vs Predator vs Alien instantly conjures visions of B-movie schlock. Might still be fun, but for the sake of his legacy I hope he doesn't go that route.

Likely because those who dared to dissent have withdrawn. Life is certainly enjoyable to many when they are surrounded by like-minded individuals.

Ehhh when people withdraw its because they really don't want to have a conversation

IMHO people can dissent all they want, I don't have a problem with it as I do not have to prove why I like a movie to have enjoyed it. This movie in particular seems to have either I LOVE IT or I HATED IT as a result.

Neither is right as its all subjective to the viewer.

Who has withdrawn? I can't spend every waking moment pointing out the seemingly never ending amount of flaws and plot holes that this movie has, I do have other things to hate on.

Besides it's like religion. I'm not going to change anyones opinion on the movie. If they like it, well then they like it. It's all pesonal opinions in the end. I simply said I didn't and then gave my reasons for not liking it.

Sounds like a Micheal Bay movie

This is a pretty good article to highlight what I was saying

    http://www.highdefdigest.com/blog/cr...ss-prometheus/

By now, it’s clear that Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’ is one of the most divisive films of the summer among both audiences and critics. The movie has already garnered a love-it-or-hate-it reputation. Is it a good movie? Luke says yes, Aaron says no

This is a picture of a part of the opening scene that was either deleted or abandoned. It shows an older Engineer accompanying the one who we see at the beginning. Maybe it was a sacrifice, then? http://cdn.bloody-disgusting.com/wp-...heus_elder.jpg

Actually, the conversation surrounding the movie is way more interesting than the movie itself managed to be. If some of these can be believed, Ridley Scott left a metric ton of stuff off the table (gurney?). In terms of plot, I want a plus-sized model not some anorexic supermodel!

Sorry, I will take Noomi over the girl from Precious any day. Besides, unlike other pretty faces, Noomi can actually act. That is something that 90% of the actresses out there cannot do. They would rather turn their face to plastic and get implants than actually learn acting. Either that, or they look like Mark Hamill and still forget that they need to act (I'm looking at you Kirsten Stewart).

Take Batman Begins and The Dark Knight for example. Katie Holmes was terrible in Begins. However, while Maggie made it look like Rachel aged 10 years in 9 months, Maggie could actually act the role and should have had the part from the get go.
Can someone PM me the US number for Matty? I want to talk to someone who might has a clue of what is going on.

Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

The only thing that could make this more epic is if it was in 3-D.

How about making it in or Double D and adding "...Does Dallas" at the end?

It's a play-on-words about an old X-rated film Wolfy. Not sure they had it in your part of the world.

It along with the Green Room were two of the first pornographic movies that were openly endorsed by mainstream hollywood like Johnny Carson mentioning Deep Throat back in the day. I wish Charlize Theron were in a Deep Throat remake...sigh....cause she was in PROMETHEUS the movie by RS (there now it's on topic).

Ah, now I get it. I recall Alex liking that series. Actually it was pretty funny.

Frankly I think your joke was better than mine.

I think you're referring to Behind the Green Door, Vert. 'Green Room' is an entertainment industry term for the room where on-camera talent waits before they appear on a show.

If Jack Bauer was on Lost, everything would have been solved in 24 hours!

If Jack Bauer was on Heroes, he wouldn't need to save the cheerleader to save the world.

I wonder if its getting flack because it was expected to be an Alien prequel, and instead we were given an alternate story set in the Aliens universe, with only the slightest nod to the existence of the Xenomorph species. I'm sure there are some very vocal Internet fan boys who threw their hands up and walked out the second they saw 'jars' and not 'alien eggs'

Now that the movie has had some time to sink in, I can appreciate it a little more, even if it did make space seem even more foreboding and bleak, but such is reality. Beyond our small blue planet, space is very hostile, and the movie did a great job of capturing that. Alien and Alien 3 were dark movies, full of dread and despair. Prometheus was a little more amped-up like Aliens, but still left you feeling like a puny life form in a vast, frightening universe. The android character was well played, and left me wondering what his stake in all this is. Though he was programmed to care for his creator, as a non human AI, he had more in common with the engineers than even he or he creator could realize. If given access to their technology, he could develop a God complex and evolve a whole new story as the main antagonist in a sequel.

It was a great sci-fi film.
