Mattel being the bigger company should take the initiative to remedy any issue on their end, no matter what...any Department store you go to would eat the cost of something if not to the customers liking to an extent, and shipping cost would be something they would gladly eat to make a customer satisfied...it's not like people are asking to have the figure for free..or get an extra figure for nothing..they are saying Mattel should own up, and stop passing the buck to their customers, because one of their employees or vendors screwed up...They should in fact be doing this, as the subbers were promised the figures of 2011 in 2011...January 2012..is no longer 2011...and they in fact should be more ticked than any day of buyers, because they were guaranteed those figures from 2011 in 2011.....
That being said, Mattel should eat the shipping on Demo, at least for the sub buyers..because going into sale day anyone buying day of, knows or should know of the delay, and they weren't promised delivery by a certain time frame. They should send out Evil-Lyn alone. Mattel will never do this, but claim to care about customers, and fans...if they truly cared, they would do whatever it took to make customers happy....Department stores do....Mattel is no different, they are more liable for customer service because they act as their own storefront, as well as through retail stores.
And it does not matter if their shipping company offers a rebate or discount to Mattel...Mattel is big enough to own up to it's own mistakes, to customers they are responsible for their own employees / vendors if something goes wrong, not to have their issues or short comings passed down to the waiting and paying public. That is how a real business should work in the real world, but in this global greed filled corporate world we live in, these companies act as if it's a privilege and a favor they are doing just by making the crap we buy no matter how crappy something is, defects and all....sorry no one is doing a favor for me by taking my money...when is that a favor?
But why would Mattel own up to this and make it right in the eyes of the paying fans?....they have never even made a statement about the Swiftwind issue, even to make it seem as though they care, they have ignored it completely..how is that for customer service, and caring?
No one here wants something for nothing, they just want their promised figures on time, and since that didn't happen they feel they should not have to pay shipping for something they should have had on time....they have Evil-Lyn..she should go out now as promised, and then suck the shipping for the one that should have also been ready to go...Mattel is the company, no matter what vendor or employee screwed up...no one cares about the outside shipping company, The Mattel Company is the face of all their collective workers and outside contractors.
Try this example, of how Mattel is solely responsible for their product...
You can't be a general contractor, and not be responsible for those you hire, even if they are outside companies...the client hired you to do the work, and if your plumber screwed up, you would have to eat any related cost because the client don't care about that plumber, only that YOU didn't deliver what was promised, because YOU alone are the face of your business, not any Plumbing Co. you hired, and YOU would be the one in court...not the Plumber. YOU would have to deal with trying to get compensation from that Plumber without the client having any related expenses passed to them outside of anything actually contracted.

That made life easier. My goodness, I remember how it was when I didn't have the sub 2 years ago! The adrenaline, worrying figures were going to sell out and I'd have to spend 2 times the cost or wait another year for a re-issue to get them...WSOD. I can't go back to life like that if I want all the figures!
The chest pains!

I find customizing a bit stressful too, which is why all my customs are unfinished. My bedroom is like an action figure graveyard of repaints and "never got put back togethers."
