Some features will have to be snooped out due to the new lay of the land.
When you click on the +Reply to Thread button, you will get the Quick Reply at the bottom. Then click on the Go Advanced in the lower right of the Quick Reply to get the full editor.

I agree with the others. I don't like the go advanced feature and you shouldn't have to click on it.

I do like the new look. Clearly NOT a cheap repaint. What do you call the upgrade? Battle Ground Forums?

There are a lot of nice things about the new layout, but it feels a bit "crowded" visually to me with not enough to really help people with the hierarchy of information. I think it might help if forum section headers had a slightly different color in the background (something neutral, like a light gray perhaps) and if the "Started by So and So‎, December 18, 2005 03:03pm" line was lighter or smaller or both. Then the topic headings would have a nice divider and be given some room to breathe and stick out a bit better.

Anyway, all in all very nice. Just a few suggestions that might help with readability!

I like it. I had the log in problem too, not actually logging in, but the checkbox to stay logged in is blocked.

Also, it would be nice if the "Go to the last new post in a thread" buttons were larger for mobile device users.

I had the same log in problem. Also, will the themes come back? I loved the POP colors.

I was gonna say I also loved the POP colors and immediately made that my "theme" each time I came here. Facebook is one site too many to have so much white everywhere, lol.

But ya know what? Since we're throwing ideas and suggestions anyway, how about "sub-theme categories"? This would give even more colored options. For example, under MOTU you could have color theme choices like the following:

Snake Mountain: dark purples, dark blues, dark greens

Castle Grayskull: medium and lighter greens, grays, lavenders


And under POP themes you could have the following choices:

Whispering Woods: light purples, pinks, and blues

Fright Zone: reds, black, yellow-orange

Crystal Castle: pinks, golds, light blues

I miss the old look, not gonna lie. When this happened at another site I visited a lot, it turned me off. I never like change on the message boards I visit, but I'll take this one in stride as I love this site too much to leave it!

I voted in a MOTUC Poll and commented in that poll's discussion, hit reply, yadda yadda yadda... The thread showed as being updated in both the MOTUC discussion section as well as the MOTUC Polls section. It wasn't in both of them, it was just listed in both of them...hmmm... let me try it again.

Yup, totally did it again. When I return to main discussion, it shows in both areas. Perhaps because they are attached somehow? I dunno, no biggie but that's my feedback.

A little hard to navigate sometimes but I miss the post thread button.So now I am using the quick reply to type my respond back but I miss the post thread button that used to be at the bottom. I wonder why it was changed and now you have to type in the quick reply instead of having a box to type your respond back.

I really liked the old layout, buttons, and navigation. I'll try to adjust but I'll miss the old boards. IMHO they seemed cleaner and easier on the eyes.

Why can't I get rid of signatures? I don't need to see everyones. In fact I went to change it twice and it doesnt allow me to do that.

The colors are also an issue. So I agree with Shadow and mark. The blue needs to be darker.

I'm digging it so far, the things that irk me is the icon, I would be lovely without any bubbles or anything just to mess up the wonderful icons. =)

I really like a lot of the new layout. But is there anyway to get the forums divided into the 4 sections again. it flowed so well before visually and now its a bit of a wall and less distinct.

Exactly how I feel, this is very cluttered.

I also really mis the She Ra theme that Ive had for three years!

Well, it isn't like we had much of a choice: we needed to upgrade to vBulletin4 and vBulleting 4 layouts are different from vBulletin3.
I'm sure with a lot more customization we could achive a look closer to the old one, but time and resources are limited, so we had to keep very close to the new system.

Just a genaral note since I've read requests for this:
We can't restore the old graphic for the forum: those skins are simply not compatible with the new version of vBulletin (our forum software), so I had to rebuild the graphic from scratch around the new vBulletin system and layout.
While there is surely room for improvements, I read many requests on which we really don't have an asnwer, as they are change vBulletin made, not us. Sorry about any inconvenience!

Is there a way to divide the sections the same way the English Forums and Site Information are currently divided? I agree though, even just making the section headers a light blue, dark blue, grey or red would really give it an easier visual flow. With them being white like the sub forums its a little daunting.

I noticed that "Edit Post" takes you to the Advanced screen right away while "Reply" and "Reply with Quote" requires an additional click. I don't know if that's a default setting that can be reversed or not, but I hope so because it's more natural to me that I'd need the Advanced screen for an initial post, and just the quick reply to edit a typo or something. I hope the new version allows it to be reversed.

I have had that happen since last night as well

Also I figured I might as well include a quick mockup to show what I was talking about in regard to changing all the white. Not sure if its possible but it would make navigation a bit easier if there some red or blue behind the new forum areas
