    Favorite New Release of 2011

Now that the December figures are finally arriving into the hands of people, it's time to look back at 2011 and see which of the new figures is everyone's favorite.

2011 saw plenty of first timers being made into plastic form, some are long awaited characters, some are variants, others were complete surprises.

But the question that begs to be answered, who is your favorite out of these?

Definitely Queen Marlena with Cringer. Not only did Marlena finally get a figure after 20 years, we finally got a Cringer which didn't require having to take off Battlecat's armor.

    1. PALACE GUARDS (Easily the most fun to play with; so many options!)
    2. VIKOR (Amazing figure; perfect translation from sketch to toy)
    3. BATTLE GROUND TEELA (Wish they would've stuck with this look for Teela, but since they didn't, wish they would've renamed her Sharella when they made the toy)
    4. FACELESS ONE (Great character; would've placed higher but for the stiff competition)
    5. DEMO-MAN (Would've placed higher with a better color scheme)
    6. QUEEN MARLENA (Wouldn't have placed at all if not for the Captain Glenn version)

    The others are poop.

No BP She-Ra, or Man-E-Faces option?

I would have voted for MEF had he been there.....But I voted for Demo-Man, simply because once I got him opened and started messing with him, I realized that I actually really liked him, he looks to me like a statue, and a well sculpted one at that. I like BG Evil-Lyn but for some reason not as much as before, and Demo really surprised me, but my favorite is still Man-E-Faces. I originally only bought Demo for the Skeletor head and I intended to sell him after, but now oddly enough I really like "Neo Glow Demo", and he isn't as bright, bright as I originally thought.

My personal favorites of 2011....and only 2 are on this list.
    1) Man-E-Faces
    2) Demo-Man
    3) BP She-Ra
    4) Panthor
    5) Swiftwind
    6) BG Evil-Lyn

I will have to give Vikor an honorable mention, as he does look cool.

I don't really like Marlena & Cringer, Faceless One or BG Teela. Shadow Beast is OK, PED He-Man is kind of pointless to me, and the Palace Guards (1 loose guard) only gave me their chest, 1 arm & 1 leg armor for my custom BA Faker & the buck modified for a Filmation MAA version, and supplied the missing MAA arm guard, other than that I never would have bought a loose single one.

Why are there only 9 choices? There's 12 months in a year and you also get 4 of the quarterly figures/beasts etc. We're missing stuff on the polls here!

Nope, we're not missing anything, this is for NEW figures that we're getting for the very first time in plastic form and that does include variants, even if some barely qualify as something new.

2 of those make no sense though because Variants are.....variants, they are already existing characters, that just happen to look different in one way or another....The inclusion of Evil-Lyn means BP She-Ra should have been included as well since BG EL was not an all new figure, 90% old stuff 10% new, BP She-Ra was 90% new stuff 10% old. Therefore BP She-Ra is something new, more of a new version than BG EL, OK BG Teela while she is Teela, she has a totally new look, new media release, but she is still Teela. PED He-Man (but still a pointless figure) has a different look, but he is still He-Man. And I don't care if BGEL is supposed to be a different media interpretation, she was meant as a 200X stand in, and there was a 200X version of her regardless of the form it came in.

Should have left off the variants altogether...the Keldor / Skeletor thing though in this case is a little different.

voted Queen Marlena in as much as I was motivated to purchase two so as to display them both. So I must have liked her best.

Honourable mention to Royal Guards, as I eventually had to buy two of those as well. And they're changeablility is just awesome, though I dont prefer the non-human heads. I probably would not have gotten a second set had I not wanted a spare guard to make Filmation Man At Arms outta the new Snake Man At Arms and previous Mustachioed Duncan Head.

Second Honourable Mention goes to Faceless One. His execution is exemplary and impressive, and with BG EVil Lyn is just very much win. Best of the single figure releases mentioned.

Voted on Demo-Man! He's friggin' awesome, and somehow beat out Vikor for me. There was not a single part of Demo-Man that wasn't perfection!

Demo-Man !!! As a figure I like Vikor better, but the Alcala Skeletor head decided in his favour

That is the only reason I bought a loose Palace Guard, I had an extra MAA from the CM sale, and decided I wanted A Filmation MAA using the PG buck for the boots, which fit the Filmation look better than the leg armor, all I had to do was paint the loin cloth and feet....then after a while of playing around I decided I wanted to take the chest, one leg & remaining arm armor for my own BA Faker.

I did consider leaving variants off altogether, but PD He-Man and BG Teela we have never seen before in plastic form, unlike BP She-Ra with her vintage release.

BG Lyn was pretty much one of those variants that's on the fence. For sure she's mostly a repaint but she comes with a couple new accessories we haven't seen before, so she just made it in. Perhaps her inclusion would be better for a poll regarding best 2nd head of 2011.

For me, Vikor was my fave from this list with Demo-Man second. PD He-Man and BG Teela were the worst.

    Definitely Demo-Man!

The Figure/Character alone is awesome & would have gotten my vote regardless, but with that Alcala Skeletor Head it's unstoppable!

Had to go with BG Teela this time. I'm so happy to finally own a Queen Marlena figure, but I think she could've been done better. BG Teela I have no complaints about. She is perfect as she is - very posable and a good sculpt.
