Went to the other Walmart near me and scored a Rat King and the Leo/Donny Ninjas in Training. They also had the Lair Playset for $80, so if anyone is interested at that price, check Wally World.

Just got Stealth Tech Leonardo reviewed: http://www.thepicreview.com/2013/09/...alth-tech.html

This is quite possibly my favorite Leonardo variant ever! I love the Stealth Tech guys so much.

Found not 1, but 2 sets of Training Leo/Don at Walmart.

Also, in transit, my ooze shifted a bit and now I can also see an orange minifigure in the green ooze. So I think they are all orange.

LOL. That would be a bit of a bummer.

    Hey guys,

I have video reviews now up on the Classic Collection Bebop and Rocksteady figures!

Also for those interested, there's a pretty great interview that myself, Sean Long, and Shartimus Prime conducted with Pat Linden from Playmates Toys on the most recent episode of the Collector Connection podcast. You can find that here: http://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=13&itemid=21076

    Enjoy!

I just did a youtube search, didn't see any reviews, so I was going to ask if there was any word on when you would be getting these, and what do I find? Two reviews. Thanks Dan!

They look like pretty solid figures.

I won't be getting them. I don't have the turtles any more and never appreciate having to do biz with TRU. But there's nothing wrong with them.

I finally got this straightened out, after finding more in-store where I could actually see the feet of all the turtles.

Yellow ooze = Purple minifig (Don)
Orange ooze = Blue minifig (Leo)
Purple ooze = Orange minifig (Mikey)
Green ooze = Red minifig (Raph)

I don't know why I thought the first yellow one I bought had an orange fig inside. I must have gotten confused.

Also, just got the Turtles in Training: Leonardo and Donatello- http://www.thepicreview.com/2013/09/...urtles-in.html

Now I just have to track down the other guys and the Mousers!

Spider Bytez looks hilarious. I'm thinking he might actually fit in really well with vintage figures.

Did anyone ask them why these are so stylized compared to the turtles? I'm sure they are aware of the backlash from fan purists

Yeah, I asked them way back at Toy Fair when they first showed them off, and their answer basically amounted to them thinking it would be neat to do updated, stylized versions. I think we talked about that several pages back. Not really much of an answer, it's just the decision they made.

Though from reading through the comments on my reviews, it seems like the fan base is pretty split down the middle. Some people don't like them becuase they are stylized, while others are arguing in favor of it. So it's definitely quite the debate on these two.

    More reviews!

Thanks so much Dan! I am really lookin' forward to those storage shell turtles. One question though: Is Don's staff any larger than the first versions? I always thought his was a little short.

I wouldn't advise buying figures just because they are rare. They almost never stay that way, heh.

Here's a review on the new Shredder, though if you got the SDCC version you already know what to expect.

I was looking forward to a better Shredder, but the deformed face and huge feet are kind of ruining the figure for me.

    Pass.
