I'm not a football fan at all but with how much the media concentrates on Brady, I'm super happy that the Patriots lost. Plus it also means Adult Swim will have a pretty entertaining Carl's Lock video next week.

Are you kidding me? Both of you. 1) brady had better stats. Longest td drive in nfl history. Most consecutive completions in a super bowl. Andall the media talks about is the superman that eli is. Its disgusting. He had one good play, but everything he did the commentators thought it was astounding. This game didnt matter to me either way (im a niners fan) but go by the facts people. Both teams played mediocre and the giants had the lead when time ran out.

I never felt the giants were underdogs and neither did a lot of other people. The AFC was weak this year. Pittsburgh wasn't great, Baltimore was, well, Baltimore, and the Pats were in a wimp division. The NFC was loaded. For the Giants to come out of that conference was pretty impressive.

Brady's wife jinxed him with her "pray for my husband" comment. I won't go off on an anti-religious tirade here because it isn't allowed on these forums. Let me just say that there's a lot of delusional people in the world and leave it at that.

I actually enjoyed the Super Bowl this year. A nice close finish is better than a blow out.

I don't really like either team but I was rooting for the Pats just to give Brady his due to be up their with Bradshaw and Montana.

I am a Raiders fan so its been a a decade since the last time we were in a Super Bowl

Stats are for baseball, not football. I'm not going to jump on Eli's "superman" bandwagon fact is I'm not much of a fan of his but the truth is once again the team with the better stats LOST. First time the perfect season Pats, lost to the giants, this time around once again the golden boy couldn't close the deal. time ran out that's how the game is! you play until the clock says you don't Brady had 4 full quarters to win, he didn't do it, AGAIN. proves my point. at the end of the day that's the only fact that matters.

Funny thing is the Giants tend to do BETTER when the other team is favoured in the super bowl.

3-0 before Spygate, 0-2 after. Belichick, Brady and the Patriots have found that it's a lot tougher to win Super Bowls when you aren't cheating.

Serously, what is the big deal about this Brady dude? So he played for the losing team, big deal. People are acting like it is his fault as if he is supposed to have the power to control how a game goes.

he's the QB, he makes the decisions on the field, so he is responsible for the outcome of his team. Just like everyone blames Scott for the bad things that happen to MOTUC.

It's not like they got stomped, they lost by 4 points and if they would have made just about any of the plays in the last minute or so of the game would have won it. Of course they didn't, which was more because the ball wasn't caught or the defense got through the offensive line. Brady had the ball in the hands of his players and they bobbled it.

Sometimes they dropped because a QB over or under threw the ball, sometimes it was because defense sometimes the player just messed up. but at the end of the day it's usu seen as QB against QB. General against general, thats the game philosophy essentially.

You speak the truth. It's a TEAM game. It's not about just one player. Tom Brady had an awesome game, just like Eli did. The stats are similar for both QBs.

I can't speak of most of the game, just the last few minutes. I saw players have the balls in their hands or about in their hands (yes they may have had to jump or reach a bit for the ball but nothing extreme) and flat out dropped the ball. We had a saying growing up if it touched your mitt or your hands and you didn't catch it it's your fault.

I know the QB is more like the field commander with the coaches being more the general, meaning the QB is commanding the game from the field. Also in the end if a team mate doesn't catch a ball it is somewhat to blame on the leadership but at the same time it's not.

So I am not saying Brady is without blame but he doesn't deserve all the blame. He has the ball right in a receivers chest and the guy drops it, not the throwers fault.

there is also the fact that that last touchdown looked like it was handed to them. That hole was huge, and the guy had time to spin around and sit.

I think that was deliberate. I even heard either Al or Cris saying how the Patriots parted like the Red Sea to let him in just so the Giants couldn't run any more time off the clock. I can understand the thinking behind that, because the Patriots still could've beaten the Giants with a touchdown, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone do that before. If they didn't let him in, the Giants would've just kicked a field goal, but only after having run a lot more time off the clock first.

I understand why they did it, but it's also built off the confidence they could return the points lost.

Yeah, I remember thinking 57 seconds is a long time when the ball is in the hands of Tom Brady.

If itsqb vs qb...why cant i use stats to show brady crushed manning? The defense was horrible and has nothing todo wth brady. The only reason im putting up a stink is because i saw an article saying how eli isrising and tom is fading. Except brady had a much better season AND game. Im sick o f the media telling us how it is based on nothing

I'm tired of hearing about undefeated seasons every year. It's slowly draining away my enthusiasm for the sport (tv commercials aren't helping either).

The goal of the regular season is to get top seed in your conference. It doesn't matter if you lose one or more games in the process. There's no reason other than ego for a team to try for the so-called record. We have to hear about it week after endless week until everyone finally loses one.

QBs get too much of the credit when their team wins and too much of the blame when they lose. I did think Brady looked off for a nice portion of the second half.

I think people sometimes put too much stock in rings. Peyton Manning used to get a ton of crap about not being able to win a Super Bowl. The year he finally won a Super Bowl, he had a horriffic playoff game against the Ravens (3 picks), yet since they won that game and went on to win the Super Bowl, nobody remembers that part. Eli Manning may have two rings, but I'd say Dan Marino with zero rings was a better QB than him. I'm not ready to say Eli should be in the Hall of Fame like some are. Eli Manning wasn't very good most of the season in 2007 when they won the Super Bowl, but got to the playoffs thanks to his defense. I'd like to see some more consistant play over a longer period of time (which actually shouldn't be too difficult with the lack of defense in the NFL these days).

He might be the quarter back, but he has no control over who will win or lose. That is the point of it being a game, no matter what, someone is going to lose and someone is going to win. People need to stop taking this crap so seriously and realize IT IS JUST A GAME!! All that matters is that the players tried their best and had fun while doing it.
