STRANGE Happening at Mattycollector.com

So earlier this evening, I went to the mattycollector page, and was going to log in to see if my 30th Anniversary Club figure order had been corrected (it says April, not February).

I logged in.

I left the screen on the Matty homepage, and left to walk my dog.

It is now about 4 hours later... I come back to my screen and notice that there is a $20 item in the cart.

Strange...

I click on the cart to see what it is and find this:



What the heck? Why is the April figure listed like this... and how did it end up in my cart???
I was no longer logged in when I came back.

This is so bizarre... what is Digital River doing??!!?

I checked my Order History, and at the very bottom of the page are a bunch of orders... one says "Order Unsubmitted" and it's the order number that matches that screen above.

The order number marked "Saved Quote" is the same order number about which I received an email saying my second Star Sisters installment was being charged at $40, when I'd already paid. Interestingly, it's not the Star Sisters... the order number shows: Sorceress, Fisto, Shadow Weaver, & Preternia Map.

But the Unsubmitted Order is the 30th Anniversary Figure for APRIL.

I'm worried. Why is this sitting in my cart?


What's interesting is that on that second screen, you see two "Unsubmitted Orders" for 01.21

Those are the Sorceress and the April 30th Anniversary Figure. Now, I wonder if those were the original orders before the Star Sisters replaced them.

But now my two orders for February, 2/7/12 are "Saved Quote" for Club Eternia and "Order Unsubmitted" for the 30th Anniversary Sub.

I wonder if Photog is being delayed again.

I checked mine, I have a few of those too. It'll likely get sorted out. This kind of thing is curious, but it gives me hope that Digital River will spill the spoiler beans again this year prior to SDCC. That was my favorite night last year, the Digital River reveals.

I am telling you now, I bet Photog has been delayed until April. Otherwise this makes no sense. Or the Photog orders have been completely messed up.

This is the exact same thing that has happened to me, but not only with $20.00 dollars in my cart, but at other different times a different amount for the 2012 sub figures for this month shows in my check out basket as well...
I like to believe that this is all a glitch, but really with matty and or DR, i don't know what to think.

I got the same situation as you, Duke. I'm not worried about it as long as my regular sub appears to be ok which seems to be the case.

Can someone here please enlighten me, why is it that when i click on the "new" My Subscription button over at mattycollector, i get on my shopping check out cart $20.00 dollars for Aprils
30th Sub figure??? I have read here in the forums that others have gotten this and submitted the order themselves which is fine. But I wonder, is this an error from the website i am getting or is it normal??? Also what's bothering me as well is, my shopping check out cart is as well showing me the total amount for this months 2012 classics sub figures, and then again it disappears to which i find suspicious and weird at the same time. See, to my understanding when it comes to the sub, we (I) don't have to submit or order the sub figures ourselves,(myself) yet others submit there 2012 sub orders to which that's also fine, being that it's right there for them for the taking. But what I want to ask as well, is should i look at this as an glitch from the site and just sit back and wait for my sub to renew, ship out as usual??? For the record i have never experienced this before of what i speak of here, and yes i have cleared my cookies, browsing history from my PC(everything in normal with the PC) and still these occurrences happen. Matty has gotten to me this time around and I'm usually pretty cool about things going around with them. It stinks that there are so many issues from Matty and DR, but this one in particular for me is really making me feel a little bit frustrated.

I welcome any opinions, theories, advice anyone can offer me and that so i can move on with out anymore shenanigans. Thanks.

ok if you go by what Scott has said (SEE BELOW) only subscriptions that renew will ship together. He stated from the begining that the 30th anniversary sub might not ship with club eternia the first month but would by second month with Dreago-Man, so the april order you see is for dreago- man and your 30th sub will renew in april thats all it's showing you. If you look in your order history you will see your 30th sub is still processing because it's the first month this sub is activated.

I was confused too at first but quickly figured it out. Photog will ship separate in february and have it's own order number and you will pay separate shipping cost for him, this goes for club lion force for this month too. then when these subs renew next time they will ship together for those who bought these subs.

The first time any item for any sub comes out it does not ship together. But any club item that is "renewing" in the second month, will ship together.

So because the MOTU monthly sub will renew for the first time in Feb, that is the first month the sub has the "option to renew". Because MOTU 30th is not renewing in Feb, that is the inital order, it will not be combined. Combined shipping will start in months where multiple subs are being "renewed". You can find all of these details in our news section. It was explained back when we put the subs on sale.

So in April, your Eternia and MOTU 30th will renew and will ship together. But your DC sub will be a first time sub and will ship seperate. In May when your DC sub is renewing and your MOTU sub is renewing they will ship together.

It is a little complicated but this was the best option to combine shipping. As long as it is the same credit card, shipping address and order details subs that renew will ship together regardless of when you placed your order.

What's utterly ridiculous though, is that they already have it set up so that my subscriptions are linked to my account.

There really is NO reason they shouldn't ship together.

The fact that they've been able to set this up makes it seem like they absolutely could have the capability to combine shipping... after all that's what the screen says

I know Scott says that the first month can't be combined, but that doesn't make sense. They've already set up the renewal for April? That's odd, because there isn't an order for Feb created yet (now I realize the unsubmitted April order was created to generate the combined shipping/My Subscription option; but that begs the question: WHY couldn't they do that with Feb??)

This all seems a bit unethical. I don't understand how they have access to all this info, they have it set up so that my subs will combine later, but for this month, that can't happen. It's rather ridiculous.

I have a feeling Mattel owns a significant amount of shares in Digital River. There is no other reason to keep them on. There's just something fishy about the whole association. Mattel has willingly kept them on even though the company has cost Mattel customers and credibility.

I saw this mentioned on Facebook when Chris Vint posted a image about it. Like I said there is I just better not see charges now on my credit card from DR and then have to call them about it. After the Swift Wind fiasco. I'm tired of dealing with them. It's one of the reasons why I am so disgruntled and starting to dislike collecting this line.

Man, that sucks big time! Well, if I did unknowingly cancel my club lion force, all I can say is...meh! no biggie. as long as they don't charge me for an item they're not shipping to me, then i won't lose sleep over it.

well, being what the two previous posts above this message said ^^ I am glad that i did not clear, my shopping cart over at mattycollector. I mean when i am signed off or on at matty the total amount for this months 2012 sub does appear on the check out basket, and also does not at times lol.(errors on the site maybe??) So, as I believe bcrduke has said i will not do anything either in the hopes that things will play out as there suppose to with the sub renewing itself, and getting the e-mail shipping notification. With all this said though, i can't help to feel upset with all of this mess going on and especially to others. As like others l enjoy this motuc's line and love collecting what has already been offered, but these issues, difficulties, errors in so many areas with this motuc's line should never be happening but yet they are happening and it is very disheartening for me to be reading about here in the forums about so many issues.

That's not correct. There was initially a question about whether Photog would be included in the 30th sub at all; that was the issue with the first figure in that sub, not whether he'd ship with other subs. ANY subs that were purchased at the same time, in the same order, were going to ship together. That's EXACTLY what Mattel said in writing when the subs went up for sale. The new bit about shipping together only after the first renewal is Mattel backtracking on the guarantee they gave us to encourage us to buy the subs. Simple as that.

Scott is correct here. This is what was posted when the 30th sub went up for sale and the other subs were made available again:

All subscriptions ordered by one person (same email address, credit card, address and shipping method) will ship together when purchased in the same transaction. Subscriptions not purchased together will still ship together, with one exception: The first month that any of your subscription orders ship, subscriptions not purchased together will not ship together (estimated January for Club Eternia® and MOTU 30th Anniversary Series, February for Club Lion Force and April for DC Universe Club Infinite Earths). The second time your subscription ships (essentially the monthly renewal), all of your subscriptions will ship together to the same address (estimated February for Club Eternia, March for MOTU 30th Anniversary Series, April for Club Lion Force and May for DC Universe Club Infinite Earths).

I'm pretty sure the Renewal date in April is just that - the renewal of the 30th sub. The first item to start the sub comes out in Feb, then it renews in April. That's what I assumed it meant when I logged into mine. It makes sense. Then, as we were told previously, when both subs are renewing (April) the items will start shipping together. I'm pretty sure this is how it works.
