Rutgers vs South Florida... I'll busy watching Green Bay vs Chicago, but I'm guessing USF gets the win in a fairly close game.
Huh, look at Rutgers going 3-0. They play Arkansas next week. I wouldn't have put money on it at the start of the season, but Rutgers may actually win that game. Depends on if "UL-Monroe" Arkansas or "What the 'experts' predicted" Arkansas shows up...
Big East divided on 14th football member
The Big East is weighing the possibilities of adding a 14th football member or adding 3 teams to get to 16. The three teams currently being discussed are BYU, Army and Air Force.
Next season, Pitt and Syracuse will leave for the ACC. And Boise State, SDSU, SMU and Houston will join the conference, giving the Big East 12 teams. They'll split into two 6-team divisions and have a conference title game. Navy is scheduled to join the Big East in 2015, giving them an odd number, so the idea is to add 1 or 3 more teams to get even divisions.
BYU has a tv contract with ESPN, and doesn't want to give up that money. At the same time, they want to have a shot at a playoff spot, which means being in a conference with a title game. Air Force has some allegiance to the MWC, but their superintendent (who's been opposed to joining the Big East) is about to retire. Army struggled to be competitive in C-USA, but would "complete the set" of service academies by following Air Force and Navy.
Interestingly, the division alignment for a 14-team Big East has already been hammered out. It looks like teams were paired with a nearby geographic partner, then one of each pair was put in each division.
Red Division
Louisville
Connecticut
SMU
South Florida
San Diego State
Navy
Memphis
Blue Division
Cincinnati
Boise State
Houston
Rutgers
Central Florida
Temple
14th team
Inter-Division Rivals - geographic pairs that would play every year
Louisville - Cincinnati
USF - UCF
UConn - Rutgers
San Diego State - Boise State
SMU - Houston
Navy - Temple
Memphis - 14th team
Thoughts on that alignment? (other than "hurr big east suks durr") Do those divisions seem balanced? Should Army and Navy join to unite the service academies? Should BYU dump the independent act and join another conference?

WOW! First Notre Dame leaving the Big East now this.
Interesting.
In Iowa the University of Northern Iowa, a 1-AA(that's FCS. right. I can never remember) school, is thinking about moving it's football up.
interesting times.

I think you mean the University of Northern Iowa.
Thought this would be interesting to put together, even so early in the season...

I haven't watched more than a couple plays of any game (pro or college) this year; I just can't find the time to sit down for more than a few minutes to watch any football other than my brother's high school games. When I do, I find myself thinking that I have other things I can be doing. Some how with all of my studying and parenting, I won't see any game this year in its entirety.

WHAT A GAME!
Second biggest comeback in Nebraska history. On to Ohio State!
GO BIG RED!
I'm happy with the win. I almost thought about turning the game off, but I'm glad I didn't. They need to stop putting the ball on the ground.
Iowa State lossing puts them in a bind. They are probably going to have to upset a couple teams to go bowling.
Iowa bounces back from a bad loss to Central Michigan to clobber Minnesota.
It would not be a normal season any other wayI swear over the last 10 years we lose to the teams we should beat and beat the ones we should lose to
At least it was not a blowout, baby steps imho
Did anyone catch the shootout between Baylor and WVU, holy crap that was a high scoring affair

There are 5 games between ranked teams this Saturday, including 3 of the top 5... Who ya got?!?
2 Oregon vs 23 Washington
4 LSU at 10 Florida
5 Georgia at 6 South Carolina
8 West Virginia at 11 Texas
12 Ohio State vs 21 Nebraska
I'm taking Oregon, Florida, South Carolina, WV and Nebraska.
I think Oregon's just too much for Washington to handle. I'm jumping on the "LSU's not as good as their name" bandwagon. I'll take South Carolina, because Georgia just lost their top WR. I don't think Texas has the offense to hang with WV, although if they can keep it low scoring it's anybody's game. And I'll take Nebraska because nobody likes Ohio State.![]()

What an incredible college football Saturday tomorrow! Tons of ranked teams squaring off. For me, of course, the highlight is my Nebraska Huskers playing OSU. I just hope Buffalo Wild Wings has enough wings and Guinness.Kim and I are going with a couple that are Ohio fans, so it should be fun.
Btw, can anyone give me an explanation how it's possible that Ohio State is ranked 14 in the AP poll yet is unranked in the Coaches poll? I've searched for an answer on Google, but can't come up with anything.
GO BIG RED!!!
GO STATE, GO STATE, GO STATE
The TCU and WV games are the two ISU games I was really anticipating this year, the TCU game lived up to my expectations. WV is on Black Friday
Another ranked team goes down!

Nothing like having the starting QB missing the game.
Nebraska is their own worst enemy again. They have given up 14 points off turnovers so far. Bummer, Birkhead now with an injury.
To all of the Ohio State haters.....
Scoreboard you may not like them but you have to give them props...

Our flag is at half mast and we're playing Taps. There is no joy for Nebraska fans after that whupping. I saw Ohio State nominated Martinez as their MVP. Funny but sad.
On a brighter note, congrats to Iowa State on an amazing victory and kindly remember that I predicted prior to b\the beginning of the season that they'd end up doing well and ranked. K-State had best watch out. What an opportunity. I'm pulling for those 'clones. :hmgrin

Would it be funny (And Ironic) if Ohio State finished undefeated?
