I don't want Filmation "feel" or "look" characters. I want actual Filmation characters. This 30th sub line is a slap in the face to the Brand of MOTU IMO. I do agree he's better tham TMS & even SMAA & yet way below Draego. He is a Knight but don't we have 1 or 2 already. Extendar of course and some might say...He-Man he's our warrior,hero & a knight sort to speak to the Eternians of Eternos. I don't know...I guess it could be worse. Couldn't it???

I'm in the same boat as you.

I would've been SO MUCH HAPPIER if they had just put out Photog, a 4H Design, a Val design, and three Create-A-Contest winners (because I know the fans could've come up with much better entries than Spector and SLL...although, after seeing SLL, Spector is not looking as bad as he did when he was first revealed (I like the darker paint apps on him also).

Also Spector and Snakeman MMA are better than this..... this is only waste of money.....

Spector is still the worst of the bunch. SLL reminds me of that red knight from she-ra was it? but still not very good. I really take issue with these guys wanting to stick to their childhood designs, someone like Johns especially should realize how bad his design was as a kid since artists tend to look on past work and see all the flaws. I'd NEVER use my childhood designs for something professional, hell I did designs 4 years ago that I loathe.

Anyway thus far I am glad I haven't gotten the 30th, I only love one figure, I tolerate Photog (hated the design as a kid, I'm indifferent to it today but I like the colours and the little horsemen details, and I reluctantly admit he is part of MOTU history. but I can take or leave it. so that is 1 out of four figures I like from that line. not a good record, (not bad for baseball though)

I was really looking forward to the new mini-comics but I don't like the idea of these new characters being shoe-horned into them. I'd rather see characters I already know and love in some new stories. However, I guess the mini-comics have always been a mini advert for new figures so can't really complain about it. Once I see these new characters involved in a story with older characters maybe I will like them more. I don't find Spector or Lazerlot terrible designs even though some improvements could be made. I just feel nothing for them as they are characters out of no-where for me.
I do prefer them over Snake MAA, Photog and the Star Sisters though.

This could have all gone in the regretting the 30th thread.

Damn, now I really wish I had submitted my create a character Man-Ray the exiled Orphaned son of the original and true ruler of the Rakash sea. Forced into reclusion after having his birthright brutally ripped from him Man-ray's exile has shaped him into a undersea rebel fighting to once again unite the undersea kingdoms to restore peace and harmony. Man-Ray desires to claim his fathers sword "The Sword of Rakash"

I could go into details but basically after seeing this figure I feel like even I would have had a good chance of winning. I've looked at this figure over and over trying to muster any excitement and I just can't get there. This is supposed to be a line for fans of a now passé children's television show. Honestly I think I would have been a little bit more excited if the whole anniversary line was composed of fan created characters instead. There is a pulsing vein of creativity that is untapped out there. An example being Illumina, even though I'm not a fan of this character I still respect that there is a huge desire for this character to be made as a figure. So do it.

Your marketing to a fanbase anyway, so why not do it? Use a old buck stick some paint apps and a little bit of tooling then call it a day. It couldn't be that hard could it?

Despite the little nit picking I still hope for the success of this line and continuation of this franchise so some day I can share it with my son when he's old enough.

Sir Laser Lot is better than Spector, but the thing is neither look like something that would have been included in the original line. At best maybe they could be a generic unproduced Wind Raider Pilot type of character on the packaging, but even that is kind of pushing it.

Spector looked better than he has in the past...did they add some blackwash to darken him up? Also, his face looks to have more detail. He still doesn't feel MOTU though...and that spade is so "in your face" it's annoying. I still think it should've been a clock-face with spade "tips" on the clock hands.

Laser-lot takes the biscuit for me. What a lame, taken for the ass figure.
So far we have in this line 3 out of the 4 figures designed by children. At least Nathan Bitner was a talented kid. TMS and SLL have got in because of people with connections having an ego trip. There was an excellent opportunity to give one of the slots to heman.org and say "there you go, decide what u want to do with it". Would've been a great way to say thanks for keeping the brand alive all this time. I for one wouldn't be collecting the line if it wasn't for heman.org - I'm sure a lot of others feel the same. Val, Emiliano et al could have a crack at a new figure and I think this would have generated a lot more excitement and good feeling. I think everyone knows this and every lame-o figure announced since just rubs our faces in it.

It is pretty a stranger right now, but I am sure he will be endowed features and storyline proper and he will be GREAT FIGURE to own!

I must have a big, pompous ego as I'd love a figure with my face on and add one first chance I got lol. Heck I'd even name him after me so I could be an eternian. I've always wanted an action figure of myself as part of my collection. I remember a cool competition in the UK for a G.I. Joe figure of yourself to be made. The head sculpt was a molded on helmet so it wouldn't actually look like you but the bio on the file card would be of you and the history you made up of how you joined Cobra or G.I. Joe.

I do think the design is a little bland, and I'm not clear on why he has no face, but beyond that, I'm OK with him. I like him better than Spector, at any rate - if for no other reason than he just seems 'more MOTU', if that makes any sense.

I read from another user that he specifically asked for it. However it may, with he managed to squeeze 2 figures based on himself, like one wasn't enough.

30th anniversary line should NOT have been about him (and a chance for his moronic expectorant). Photog could have been a perfect sub exclusive.

Plus we have to withstand the terrible fan-fic quality bios, that he comes up with.

I prefer Spector and Laserlot over Photog. The only anniversary figure I really like though is Draego. Wish I hadn't got the anniversary sub now.

I disagree, as we "ALL" had a shot back then to send in to try to win this slot back in the day as kids...erm.. well most of us here did.
So I personally feel this character is more "true to the vintage line" than either Mighty Spector or Sir Lazer Lot are, and I will def get Fearless Photog before buying either Might Spector or Lazer Lot.

...if for no other reason than the principal of it.
