Was the contest back in the 80s done via the Magazine? I was completely unaware of the contest as a kid. I did collect the magazine, but not when it first came out... I think I only became aware of it by the third issue or so.
Where was the contest announced? Where was the winner revealed?

I bought TWO 2013 Subscription as support, because of the promise that showing support will ensure 2014 will include ALL the major POP and NA characters.
If you put the lower half of the figure in a cup of hot water (not getting the sticker wet, of course), it will loosen up the abs

Got my two photogs today! Wow he is so cool! I just love the colors & how he was done. kinda like a hero costume. The head is just awesome! Its odd but does sorta resemble a head. Reminds me of Manga cyborg characters like the one in AppleSeed. Very impressed glad he is apart of my MOTUC collection. Fits in very nice with the other masters great.

I got my Photog a few days back and just wanted to chime in with my love for this guy. I was never on the "we need to have this figure after 30 years!" bandwagon but I have him in hand and he's one of my favorites. I'm a big movie fan and something like that camera gun of his? Instant win. The reels as belt? Awesome. The "flash bulb" shield? How cool is that! I had a hard time wrapping my head around how his abilities would "work", but I think this is what he does: blinds his foes with the flash shield, "pauses" them with his camera gun, and then those little laser things under his head-lens? They zap you then sap you and his camera head thing sucks you into his "vault". I imagine him as being somebody who sort of imprisons folks via capturing them on "film" and depositing them into some sort of storage unit at the Royal Palace prisons... like a Ghostbuster ghost trap maybe? I would love to see this fellow in animated form on a future MOTU series
Got mine today. I was lucky and didn't get a cracked lens one, but time will tell if it is meant to crack. I think it's a great figure. I expected the blister card to have the 30th Anniversary sticker on the front, but there's nothing to give these 30th anniversary figures any uniqueness if you collect MOC. Photog is a great figure...glad I got it. Many thanks to Bitner and Toyguru for making this figure happen!

Something I find strange is that a shipping notification for what be Photog this morning at around 3 AM. As of now, he's already settled in for his long cozy stay at Hotel Sparks, NV.
I only find it strange since the box with the Sorceress and 2 delayed figures shipped on several days ago on the 17th, and they are still in Sparks, at least as of the 20th.
Meanwhile, Voltron's Red Lion arrived today, the same day Photog started shipping. I'd have expected them to arrive much closer. As it is, Photog probably won't get here until next month. Hopefully he's not broken since I'd like there to be some CS stock left if so.
Just got Photog and I'm really impressed by the figure.I displayed him together with Icarius,he looks like a member of the protectors
I love my PHotog. I actually want to extend his lens, but I like how he looks better without it extended. But I feel I should show it off. Oh well, heck with it.
As much as I love his gun in concept, in execution it looks too much a camera and not enough gun. But I am glad he has it, and it is sculpted very fine. He is weilding it, left handed, so his sheild can be on the right, as pictured.
This is one of the most important figures in MOTUC ever. So glad it is real, I thought it would be eventually, but I was afraid to believe. And now he's real.

Never mind the lack of joke - I really like the guy! Much better in-hand than in pics. My imagination is on overload...I NEVER would have used that head for a camera if this figure had come out when I was a kid! Oh man that sucker would be a friggin' beam cannon or something. I love it! So much so that I'm thinking of completely rebuilding the idea behind this guy; but we'll see. As an adult I find the camera thing funny, and that makes me want to keep him the same.
I just love everything about this guy, from the crazy head, to the flash shield, and even the new funky film gun! I'm thinking of making the gun into this "Mega Man" type weapon that "records" other weapon abilities and copies them, so he can record magical bursts and fire them out of the gun - GEEZE, see what I mean? This guy is so RIPE for creation! My brain can't stop! So many ideas! I am SO GLAD they are making new stuff like this. I love exercising the old imagination; the one way back there. The good one! The one that used toys for my own purposes. This figure is great!

Oh man I dearly love this figure! He came out so amazing. Love the details on his head and his gun. The lenticular bit on his chest is REALLY effective (much better than Sy-Klone's I think) and his color combo is a lot of fun. Also, love the shield. I'm being totally honest you guys, this is probably one of my favorite figures I've gotten in quite a while.
I think Photog is a new favorite of mine.
