Motu redesign challenge #101 - HE-MAN!

WELCOME ONE & ALL TO THE REDESIGN CHALLENGE REBIRTH!

My good buddy Patreek and I have been excited to get this going again; to challenge artists to create their best inspired works on behalf of reimagining our beloved Masters of the Universe characters and claim the victory of recognition for their winning design.

We hope to continue the excitement and fun that Predabot created so well here in the fan-art Forums, and inspire new works that will be admired and immortalized By the Fans of He-Man.org.

SO, it’s time to get started, and who better to begin the new journey than He-Man himself!

The icon, the legend, and the hero we all grew up loving, has gone through some redesigns and concepts throughout the history of the line, and probably like me, many fans had dreamed of giving He-Man a new flare and look to progress with the trends and popular concepts of the generations since.

Now it’s your time to unleash that design and make it one whom the Fans of He-Man.org can’t deny is a winner in their hearts!

HERE WE GO!!!!

- All people who choose to participate will have 1.5 months to come up with a redesign for this character.

-You can use ANY medium you wish! You can sketch, paint, make a 3-D model,
make a sprite, make a custom action figure, whatever you want. Its entirely up to you!

-You don't have to force yourself to make your design conform to the new OR OLD cartoon & comic book's style.
Be as drastic in your redesign as you see fit. Whatever makes you happy, all that is necessary is that you add something all-NEW,
however big or small, to the characters visual appearance.

-If you can't think of a new design, or just hate the idea of working on this character,
you do not have to feel obligated to participate in this particular challenge.
You will still be free to participate in any future challenges you wish.

THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS APRIL 15TH!!

Ulisses31, that alcala's grittiness and barbaric nature always apealed to me. I'm looking forward to seeing how you incorporate that in your design bro!

Facebook page already exists, I don't think I made a social group though. What would the new thread be for? We have the past winners thread, and a Suggestion thread is on its way shortly.

I was referring not to a page but to post news about the challenges at the H.org page.

I checked this page https://www.facebook.com/heman.org but I have not found a post about the redesign challenge, so I sheared the news.

Is there a an official facebook page just for the challenges? Is one of these? https://www.facebook.com/groups/214514301931822/ or https://www.facebook.com/pages/He-ma...ref=ts&sk=wall I have read both and they look the real deal, but they need more fans

It's funny because I've been redesigning He-Man for several years now, but I'm not sure how to approach this. I mean stylistically. If we were to reinvigorate the whole franchise for a new audience, I think it would call for a new cartoon and that would have it's unique style. Something CGI in the Clone Wars/Transformers Prime vein would seem like the obvious direction. A live-action movie design on the other hand would be totally different, if we go that way. This'll take some thinking.

Ah ok gotcha. Yep those are some of the pages, still working on them though. Will be getting them going more in the next week or so. Interesting idea about the suggestion thingy.

Hmm, I think there's a question in there.... "which route do we go? New cartoon or new movie redesign?"

I think that decision falls in your hands fellow artists. The idea is to show what you think will put he-man back on the map so he can battle superman again, and have his name yelled at a child's birthday party; or referenced by an MMA champion on pay-per-view

So, I suppose your concept should include whether its a cartoon, comic, or movie design... for kids, teens, adults, or all of the above. Either way, the challenge is an effort to make He-Man the essence of modern day heroes of might and virtue the way your passon tells you so.

Yes, PYRE is a lazy texter...yes text because most of the time, when I respond to my threads, it's on my android phone, lol. So, if my fan character "PYRE" has a weakness, it's laziness with texting =) Dont tell skeletor, or he might exploit it.

Well, I have to say I agree with Ulisses, the Alcala He-man is all I need in life, he's simply perfect.
So, I'll just do this...He-man is a barbarian warrior who the Goddess/Sorceress foresee as the one who, one day, will sit on the Grayskull throne as the true king of Eternia.

I think that's my favorite piece I've ever seen from your work.also, love the grayskul ring emblem on his belt and thanks for giving him pants! Lol. Who wears the pants in this universe?
