I do agree that the figures this month are extra awesome. But I'm fairly disappointed. My Shadow Weaver is missing a dot of paint on one of her knuckles, and it looks really odd (I'm not even going to try to replace it). And I'm sorry, but how do you **** up a character as important as the Sorceress? This is the figure I've been waiting for since the line started, and she sucks! The wings are terrible, and whoever came up with this solution should be fired. I just don't understand what they were thinking. Whenever Mattel tries to do something fancy with a figure (snout spout's trunk, Hurricane Hordak's armor, the Sorceress's "magically openeing wings") it ends up completely ruining the figure.

Yeah, and after Riker had his affair with the Sorceress, he told me all her dirty secrets! (My, she's not a innocent as you think! lol)

Wow! This was an awesome month for figures! A year ago or so, Sorceress and Shadow Weaver were #1 and #2 on my want list and Fisto was probably in my top 10 as well. And yesterday all three arrived (with Photog being a nice bonus last week)!

Shadow Weaver is pretty much perfect. Sorceress is a nice display piece but kind of a dud as an action figure with the wings killing the arms and the BG Teela hips killing the legs. Fisto is nice but he seems a tad off to me not having the bigger, rounded vintage armor in a simalr style to Randor/Hordak/He-Ro.

Next month will be kind of sad with just Kobra Kahn . . .even though he looks to be awesome as well.

Extra hand? I think everyone is missing that piece. Sucks that the head is missing.

So I keep bringing this up, but has it ever been discussed what the names on the bottom of the mailer boxes mean? Such as Ceratus, or Sub-ternia... These are actual characters and places in the MOTU universe but have not been mentioned by Mattel as potential releases. One may never know...

Doh-kay, I wish the world was perfect too, but that would be boring.

Anyways, I think Fisto is one of the best in the line. Everything about him stands out as better. This is a very good step for MotuC methinks.

Its been addressed many times, Mattel does it for Trademark reasons, there are no secrets to get from them, they are not hints or anything like that. hope that helps.

I don't think anyone is asking for the world to be perfect when he or she asks for the figures to be engineered well. The Sorceress should have had the 1.0 legs (she would have had better leg posing ability, her hips would have fit correctly with the skirt (they don't), and that "gash" (mold imperfection that no one caught approving the samples of BG Teela) on the right thigh wouldn't be present).

    That's a reasonable complaint.

Her arms are severely limited and I think we all would have been happy with the wings articulated via a single peg on her back as opposed to on her shoulders, since they were unwilling to use Emiliano's design.

There is no reason to argue this point, but all I wish to say is, you're either happy with your purchase or you're not. I understand that settling for an inferior product is one thing, but I firmly believe these aren't inferior. If we were purchasing really high end figures for a very high price, any complaint would be a sound complaint i.e. small paint mishaps. We only pay $20 for these things, and whoever thinks that is a high price for a figure (look into Japanese figures) think again. I've been a sincere collector all my life and I believe that there is a ratio: quality/cost of figure TO complaints that should be had about the figure. Now in instances with the Goddess? That is an absolute (a word ToyGuru overuses) blemish on Mattel's part, that they've only half ways tried to make up for.

I say this in part to show people a different light in which these problems can be viewed. I enjoy the .org, but I find so many complaints... it gets tiring.

In the end though a person's complaint is just that and if it means something to them? ... so be it.

Wow! Awesome month for MOTUC! All of my figures arrived in excellent condition. Fisto really blows me away! He's totally set the new standard for this collector.
I'm hoping for a Disco Skeletor for the next subscription exclusive! Fully flocked!

I am completely with you on that, he really is better than a lot of others. Well I think him and Demo-Man are on the same echelon.

Someday I'll get a real camera, but the iPhone will do for now...
Got my figs last night. I did remove the cowl and reposition it, and did a little paint touch ups on the eye color and makeup.

So glad to have these two in my collection finally!

And Dan... Fisto's fist comes right off! A good tug, and there was no glue in the fist.

It's a random thing. My Fisto's fist will hardly rotate without some effort. It's on there for good.

The fist is designed to be able to rotate. Thus no glue.
If it's stuck, it's stuck like a torso joint or any other joint where the paint is slightly tacky when it was put together or something like that.

I'd be willing to bet none of them are glued, and when you get the fist off, you can see why it's not glued and that it was indeed meant to rotate.

Just heat it up a little with a hair dryer and give it a twist.
There is no mechanism you're going to break, what you see below is it, two pieces of plastic that are held together by just a little rib bump inside the fist piece.

Or don't... It's your figure after all.

I've always LOVED your repaints but now I see you are (like me) the only other person who realised the Sorceress's face paint should / could have been improved. I LOVE what you've done (like you did with BG Teela, which I still have pics of and is on my to-do list) and how you've repositioned the head.

May I just ask - in terms of repositioning the head (headdress) - did you just heat and remove and then re-position after the paint had dried.

Would you accept virtual New Zealand chocolates and big hug for posting a MUCH bigger picture of her face - so I know or can imagine that mine looks like that when she does arrive - pretty please with anything you want on top

    Heavier eye liner all around.
    Repainted the eyebrows.
Made her iris color lighter (hard to see in the photo) More like Fisto's lighter gray, only hers is a lighter blue/gray.
And yes, darker lip color, and cropping it in so the teeth aren't quite so big.

That's it! Oh, and the headdress adjustment.

Teeth aren't so big, teeth aren't so BIG, why doesn't anyone realise that the ********ng teeth were TOO ********NG BIG!!

You know, if I was rich and famous (or a Org Celeb) I would so go over to Matthew (from Fwoosh's) house to play with his dios and yours' to learn figure painting.

iPhone camera is lame, and distorts some, but you get the idea.
The previous pic of the two figures shows off more how she looks in person as the lens is pulled away and distorts less.

Oh yeah, I use a lit magnifying glass now when I do these, helps a ton.

It just occurred to me, I have an extra BG Teela head where I painted the hair red... I may have to swap some heads tonight and see what the Sorceress looks like sans headdress!!!
