Harold Ramis (Egon from Ghostbusters) passed away.

I have never made it a secret that Ghostbusters (and the sequel) are some of my all-time favorite movies, and it kills me to report that Harold Ramis, who played Egon and also wrote and starred in a number of other great movies like Groundhog Day has passed on.

The 'busters will never be together again.

    Thanks for everything, mister Ramis.

This is extremely depressing. I've loved most of his movies, but most especially Ghostbusters.

Aw, dammit! Harold Ramis was involved in many movies that greatly influenced me and my comedic sense. Stripes, National Lampoon's Animal House, National Lampoon's Vacation, Groundhog's Day and of course Ghostbusters. So many good memories and so many good laughs...

    Very sad news.

He truly was one of a kind.

He said in an interview once that he would never be a comedy giant. I think he was wrong on that count. He never got top billing like John Belushi or Bill Murray, but he was definitely a reason why many great movies were as funny as they were, both in writing and acting.

RIP Harold. Tell John we said "hi".

Rest in piece Mr. Ramis. Besides Ghostbusters, one of my personal favorite roles of his was from his very brief but important part as the pediatrician in "As Good as it Gets". I'm miss him greatly.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Ramis. Guess we're never gonna get Ghostbusters 3 now.

My dad texted me this news earlier and I actually cried. Ghostbusters is probably the earliest movie I remember from childhood and I've always been a huge fan. I'm incredibly bummed. I believe I need to watch the film tonight.

Very sad to hear this. I enjoyed everything I've seen Harold Ramis involved in. I too am a big Ghostbusters fan. Feels like a piece of my childhood just died with this news.

Thank you, Harold, for making us laugh over the years.

Man this was a shock today. He was that guy that did a lot of stuff when you didn't know he was behind the camera on and you loved it. Good journey Mr. Ramis.
