...I can't understand why the number of pages about new posts can't ever be more than 17 pages...
If I don't read the forum for a week, I lost the older posts, I have to go in every menu and read the others posts older than the oldest post in the 17th page...
I thought new forum should be updated for this limit...

But in others forums if I don't enter for a month, I find also 70 pages of new posts...here only 17 pages, without a lot of posts!
Double check your settings.
Go to Settings in the upper right. Then in your User CP, under My Settings, go to My Account >>> General Settings.
Make sure your Thread Display Options are set to the time frame you want.

When you come back to the forums, any new posts should be there. It doesn't matter how many threads there are. There may have been a lot of new threads started, there may not have been. It's all about new posts.

I have always this problem...why is there this limit?
I suggest changing your Settings on what limits you want to display for various things.
I tried many times, but nothing...
It might also be a general limit in vBulletin.
