Okay, I thought 22 for subbers, but now I think it very well could turn out to be 25 for subbers and even more for DOS buyers!

Maybe "dramatically" is a bit too much to say from TG, but well we'll see....if "dramatically" is really meant to scream DRAMATICALLY, I am not sure we go beyond 2015 with this line!

If they will rise prices so much on this line, with all the hassle still around with DR, failed promises from TG and the matty team, Stinkor, Vykron, etc. which caused a lot of heat in the community, they surely have to come up with another strategy soon. I doubt we will see many figurs in 2013 since 2012 is so overloaded.

If they keep on doing so many figures, rise prices on figs and shipping, well, 2013 sub sales will go down DRAMATICALLY, not just Mattel's figure prices!

I posted a follow-up question since I saw ToyGuru was answering questions over at Matty. Perhaps Scott can shed some light on his idea of "dramatically raising prices" so we don't have to wait for Comic-Con to get over the sticker shock. I was hoping the figures would come in around $25, but maybe they are going to push $30 so they can keep it there for a couple years.

Well, I just started collecting the line again so it really won't be hard for me to stop buying if prices get dramatically raised. Of course I'd never get the sub so a few extra dollars on a figure here and there wouldn't really affect me too badly.

I'd guess something like $25 for subs and $30 for day of sales, but that's just because I think they'll go with round numbers.

I'm happy painting on decos myself, but I'm not terrified by an increase.

Ok I quit the line for a short while but came back to it and started collecting again but if there really is a dramatic increase in price then I will just have to quit the line again and this time for good, not because I do not like the figs but quite simply I wouldn't be able to afford it, I mean I am being stretched as it is with the price of the figs plus shipping (and sometimes even customs fees) so to be faced with a dramatic increase in price...they may as well just end the line in December for me because that is as far as I will be going with it

I am seriously concerned by it myself.
This WOULD have been my first year every beign here an on time to be able to get a sub... but now I might not bother due to all of the "dramatically raising prices" style comments floating around...

Some info on this would be VERY much appreciated Toy Guru!!!

The sooner the better please, for those of us who have to plan out our purchases several months in advance!!

PLUS!!! I have to start thinking about money for the upcoming Mini Masters line. So only a 10% chance I will end up getting a sub this year after all.

Seriously concerned. Some idea on the new pricing would be nice. Have a feeling that it will be the same for subbers and DOSers.

If they dramatically raise prices after the year with lowest number of subs sold ever, I can really see this causing some problems. I really can't base my comittment to the line for next year based on this singular comment, but I'm not sure that stating "we are dramatically raising prices" without giving more solid info is ever good business.

If they can keep the line at $22 for subscribers and day-of sales next year, and that just means we lose a few paint details (like on Horde Prime or Stinkor's accessories) and they have to cut maybe 4 accessories for the year (Mighty Spector's whip, Draego-Man's whip, shield and non-flame sword)...I think I would rather take those small sacrifices than pay $3 more per figure (if it is going to be something like $25). IF they do dramatically raise the price next year, there better be NO quality control problems with the line, everything has to have excellent paint apps and 3 accessories per figure. If you're going to raise the prices, the customers need to see the value. That's my thoughts on the topic after my "OMG, the line is ending next year!!" initial reaction.

As cherry picker I can put 30$ for day of sale. If that means we are getting the protos missing paint apps and the extra accessories much better!

I guess we'll see what he means by 'dramatically'. Looks like I'll just start picking and choosing my favs if it really is a big increase. I've been a subscriber since the beginning, but this is an expensive line for me as it is. I just can't afford an extra $10 or more per figure.
I'm hoping for a Disco Skeletor for the next subscription exclusive! Fully flocked!

I actually have something that we were just discussing over in the ORG chat-room that I flet should be mentioned here....

ALOT of modern "collectors" lines charge WAY more than we are even considering per individual figures due to them being a "Collectors line item"...

....what if their dramatic comment is more from them thinking like $30, $40 or even possibly $50 per standard figure???

This alone has me more concerned for the line atm than anything else that I have heard so far. As this could actually SERIOUSLY damage sales enough to jeopardize the line...

Hopefully by saying "dramatically raising prices" TG is trying to brace us for worst case scenario, so when we do see what the actual price increase is we'll all be like "Well, that wasn't too bad of an increase"....

    Hey, I can dream can't I?

I can see $22 for subscriptions and $25-27 for Day of Sale. And I would be fine with that

I have been all in x2 for a long time and the idea of a dramatic price increase may change that. I guess I will wait and see what the final numbers look like on sub items and dramatic cost!

so what? producing in china right now means this and it will be worst.

global echonomic is going in that direction and we (europe and US) have to think about our old habits, like affording those figures for just 22 dollars.

from 2015 there is a strong possibility to see the figures prices raise by 30 per cent. ouch.
anyway mattel says those stuff from last year, itn not quite a surprise.

    raise prices!!!

Are you serious mattel? I pay $22 per figure then you charge like $10 to ship it when it cost you $4 then you over charge me on tax its not over $3 on tax. It should be just under $2 you criminals!!
I'm done if you dramatically raise prices as I'm sure many others will be as well.

yeah a 'dramatic' price increase combined with the issues that line has had (QC, customer service and delivery issues) and a thinning number of A-list characters doesn't bode well for the subs. I'm going back to picking cherries in 2013, now I will buy MOST stuff if I like it, but I don't want to be on the hook for another star sisters type deal for even more money, imagine $90 for them?!?! eek! also beasts might be too much too, I like battle lion but not enough to pay $45 for it.

but to be fair a $5 increase is (on the sub price) 25% increase, that's a high number but it isn't TOO bad. a $10 is 50% and that hurst a lot more.

I don't normally jump the gun, but this does scare me a bit. If they bump the price to even $25/figure that's still well over $30 each after shipping. That's....pretty insane, especially with the heavy re-use of parts that this line is known for.

I don't even want to think about if they bump them to $30 and they're almost $40 each after shipping. I'd have to become a cherry picker at that point and that would be crushing.

I think the price will be around 25-27$.

If this is the case, i need things like ram-man and modulok more often, to be motivated for the sub.

    Do you read this, Toyguru?
