So, I'm starting to open a back-log of figures because I wanted to take nice pictures of them MOC before I opened them, but was waiting for my professional lighting to come in (it's a very long story).
Anyway, so I was going to open one of my two King Grayskulls and noticed they each have different half swords: old style (like He-Man) and the new style. I thought that was odd. Does anyone else have the old style? Also, how has this happened? I thought it was going to cost big money to tell China not to glue Stratos' wings or swap something out, but that was done in this set. It's weird.

You're right. I haven't seen any pictures, but after a lot of reading, I've found 5 other KG's mentioned to have the old swords. Six, including mine. I guess I'm just unlucky.
I opened my King Grayskull with the new half-swords and I'm SHOCKED and AMAZED at how expertly they fit together! I haven't been so impressed in a long time! There's a tiny little gap in the middle of the blades, but other than that tiny gap, it's really hard to tell that this isn't really a full Power Sword. Very well made.
I hope they can find a way to get all the old half-swords released from the new mold somehow. I didn't care for them at the beginning of the MOTUC line (because they couldn't stay together), but now that they can...I'm really excited for half-swords!

My KG came with the old style. I'm still new-style deficient!
Mine had the old style. I have no use for the half swords but it irritated me that they advertised an upgraded product, and then put the old one in the box.

i got the new style with both grayskull and keldor, i had to use the hot water trick to get grayskull's swords to stay together (and later had to repaint the swords
argh, I didn't buy Keldors re-issue because they said there was no changes and now I see the half swords I so love. I wish their was some kind of way to request those pieces outside of buying the whole figure.
I made a thread in the marketplace, but if anyone is selling their let me know.

Yeah, my Skeletor and He-Man sword halves don't really go together very well but Keldor's are perfect. I've skipped on King Grayskull for now so I'm glad to hear that they updated the swords on him. I'd like to have a classic light/dark power sword that actually works!
I have 2 KG's.
One came with the new half swords.
The other came with one half new and one half old, so they don't join together.
I've got the new ones and they don't stay together above the hilt. Hilt is perfect, but above that it just ends in a big "V". Utterly useless. I ended up gluing them together and giving the resultant full sword to my TRU He-Man who, inexplicably, never came with a sword!
I also noticed another difference between the two. The hair (pigtails) is straight down on one and bent on another.

My KG had 2 Male versions of the new sword. So utterly useless! I bought 2 so I wished I'd noticed before I open this one (sold the other).
