    Gwildor gets killed!!!!!!!!?????

"By the time Spector gets the suit in the future, Gwildor (like most inventors during conflicts/war) is long dead."

"Bad guys are always trying to take control of new technology and bumping off the inventor is one way to do this."

OMG! Flashbacks to death of Sorceress!!!!!

(UPDATE - Wow! This thread is really getting out of hand, lol! I only created this thread as a parody of the response to the Sorceress dying a year back, and thought the thread would be closed within a few hours, as it probably wasn't deemed relevent!

    For the record -

    *I like Gwildor.
    *I like the MOTU movie.
*I really like the MOTUC Bios Storyline and I understand where it is going, and I'm realy glad all continuities are tying all together!
*I have no problem that Gwildor dies in the future, as I feel it adds an extra depth to his character.

Just wanted to put that on record!)

    It's from this interview here

    http://www.motucfigures.com/2012/03/...-toy-guru.html

To be fair, it's at some point in the far future, but it's interesting as (as far as I know) no other heroic main characters have ever been referenced meeting their demise, apart from the Sorceress. (EDIT: oh yeah, King Grayskull and He-Ro)

I think it's pretty dark (but I admit, I do not necesarily have a problem with it)

    Yeah, this sucks.

But what were you expecting ? We all knew for a long time that TG would do anything to put his "creation" forward. And if Gwildor needs to get killed so The Mighty Spector can "save the day", that's not a problem to TG.

Now wait to see TMS's bio: I think we'll probably have more reasons to be concerned.

In my cannon, Gwildor is still alive, and Spector is just a wimp who just happened to be whipped and beaten to death by Beast Man.

Dateline! Gwildor, master inventor and locksmith of Eternia. Most known for his development of the Cosmic Key, letting Skeletor nearly win, and wearing Earth women's clothing, died today in a vehicle crash involving his "FifT9 Cata'l-ack" and Skeletor's Battle Ram Chariot. Gwildor was killed when one of his famous bar-b-qued "Rybs" lodged in his throat after, according to witnesses, he cut Skeletor off and Skeletor retaliated by ramming him. Skeletor has this to say, "I don't know what you are talking about. This pink thing stopped in the middle of my charge on Castle Grayskull and I hit it. If I knew it was Gwildor I wouldn't have stopped to see if the driver was ok. Stupid little trype cost me everything!"
He-man's look-a-like Dolph had this to say. "Gwildor was slain by Skeletor this day. His fuzzy face will be missed in the halls of the palace. Eternia will mourn this great man's, uh, things passing. We will honor his name and defeat Skeletor once and for all!"

Poor Gwildor. Too bad his demise doesn't mean Mattel won't waste a slot on a figure. The cosmic key must be cursed. The two action figures bearing it so far have been the worst designs yet. When produced, Gwildor will surely carry on the tradition.

To each his own I guess. I personally love the film. It is no more blasphemous to the MOTU franchise than the DC mini-series was to the original Glut mini-comics, or than Filmation was to the DC mini, or 200X was to vintage, etc, etc, etc...

The MOTU lore is filled with so many different takes on the story. The live action film is just another one and shouldn't be disregarded just because it doesn't mirror Filmation (which I think is the problem MANY people have with it). I think the film gets pretty unfairly blasted... especially compared to the garbage that passes for toy/ cartoon adaptations nowadays (Transformers 3, G.I.Joe).

... and Gwildor rocks, plain and simple. He offers a great bit of variety to the musclebound forces of good. I can't wait for him to join MOTUC.

For once, The Mighty Scott made a good decision regarding the fate/story arc of a character.

    May Gwildor's death be hideous.

To be honest, I think Gwildor dying (in the future) adds to his importance in the mythos, not detracts from it ...so I am fine with this
It adds a bit more depth to the character, and makes him a bit more important IMO.

I was referring to the soon to be released purple Deadpool variant and that classic masterpiece of a figure, Preternia Disguise He-Man. Maybe they should release a three pack with an unmasked purple Deadpool, an unmasked Preternian Disguise He-Man (they do need to find a way to re-use those awesome brown robes), and Gwildor. It can be the first large item in the subscription next year.
