I'm wiling to BET that others will die too...
This is all much ado about nothing. You know which other character will most likely be "long since dead" in the future?
All of them. Or at least 99% of them. The statement wasn't about Gwildor getting killed it, it was just reaffirming that Spector comes along at some point far in the future, far enough that a lot of characters aren't around anymore.

Was it assumed that Gwildor was an immortal? I just assumed he'd die eventually just like most characters. It's like saying He-Man got the power sword long after Grayskull and He-Ro died.
One of the true fan minority - happy MOTU fans!
www.marveltoys.net - the source for marvel figure information.
That's ok. Billy Barty died in 2000 so, in my mind, Gwildor died with him. I say this because Billy Barty was all kinds of awesome and was in many movies from my childhood.
Ask not for whom MOTUC is made, it's made for thee.
Why are people upset Gwildor dies? For one we don't know when or how, but seriously if everyone lived forever in MOTU then that would take away the fear of dying
King Grayskull died, He-Ro died, Tytus died, Sorceress dies....not sure what the big deal is besides a chance to either hate on Scott some more or be upset that a character dies
As long as we get the figure I don't particularly care when he dies

Gwildor never really struck me as a survivor anyway. He we was too goofy and annoying. He was like Orko but without even the magic going for him...
Just considering how many times he 'almost' died in the movie... and He-man can't ALWAYS be around to protect him.... and that Key was just TOOOOOOO big a target on him. He was too valuable and impossible to protect forever.
Had to go
THough, I gotta say I disagree with the 'in the far future/He-ro' comparisons... he DID say that Spector and Lt. Spector are the same guy... soooo I don't expect any kind of 5000 year gap here.
I think it would be awesome if Mighty Spector is some kind of 50-60 year old Lt. Spector who keeps coming back and kicking butt with his younger self
About Liam Neeson age would rock.
I don't see how Spector can get the key long after Gwildor dies because The Mighty Spector and the Royal Guard Spector are one and the same so unless he is very long lived it can't be compared to Adam getting the sword long after King Grayskull
I actually like Gwildor. I think he's kind of a fun character in the mythos. That being said, I think it's interesting that he dies. I always thought he was quite old even when we'd met him in the movie. I think it's an interesting little note, and if it happens it'll be some time in the future he'll have plenty of time to have tons of adventures we're not getting to see.![]()
Probably by "long after" he means 10 - 15 years. That would give enough time for theera to be introduced which we now speculate is when the Mighty Spector originally comes into play....based on the
Also would tie in to the END-GAME scenario of the MARVEL / STAR comics which I believe is set a similar amount of time in the future...(if they ever get STAR comics licence)
So based on that, if Gwildor dies around the end of the 2nd Ultimate Battleground or during the NA era, then that fits...
I think it does suggest Gwildor gets "killed" rather than simply dies, based on this quote -
"Bad guys are always trying to take control of new technology and bumping off the inventor is one way to do this."

I'm not sure if people care so much that he dies, it's just that he's being survived by Spector. That would be like selling your DVD player to buy a VHS player. One that pops open at the top.
I'm only PRAYING that these bios don't stick, and that the next person to control MOTU ignores them like 'upper management' has chosen to 'retire' 200X.
Good riddance!!
Seriouly though, obviously Gwildor is going to die someday, just like He-Man will, Teela will, MAA wil, Evil-Lyn will, etc. The only one that I could see not dying by age would be Skeletor because of the magic within him.
Nahhh... I think SOME people just like Gwildor.
I'm not ONE of them... But there's no accounting for taste
I've seen a lot more 'I can't believe he's dead...' Posts, then I have 'THIS is what he's replaced with?" comments.
Myself, I like Spector BETTER then I like Gwildor. at least he comes with weapons and looks like he can manage himself in a fight...
Gwildor is a walking hostage.
Wait, where was it mentioned that Sorceress meets her demise???

Um...we don't even know WHEN he dies. Of COURSE he dies! He-Man will die sometime, so will Skeletor. Hordak is gona get killed too! EVERYONE will die at some point! Why is this some sorta surprise? Is it that he dies within the timeline of the main story? Is that the problem? I don't GET IT. Explain why this is in any way worthy of news, whatsoever. Please. I'm dyin' here. We don't even have ANY information behind how, why, when, or whether or not it was with the friggin' candlestick - HOW CAN THIS BOTHER ANYONE?!

lol, I actually started this thread purely as a parody to the over-reaction to the Sorceress dying last year....![]()

Hi MISSILE-TOE, what was the end game scenario in the Star Comics?
