    Changing Your Information without calling.

I really really do not ever feel comfortable, ever , giving my Name, Address , and Credit Card information to anyone over the phone. Pretty sure I dont need to explain why.

Recently , There was an announcement that the ONLY way to correctly change your information for your subscriptions was to CALL and DIRECTLY GIVE YOUR INFORMATION to a live person over the phone.

I am here to simply tell you this is either BS , or sheer idiocy . If MattyCollector.com Customer Service believes this , then they dont even know their own system, which might surprise just about nobody familiar with the track history of jagaloon central.

Here is an email I recieved (ON MARCH 13th BTW , well PAST the March 9th DEADLINE)

    Dear Aaron,

As a MattyCollector.com subscriber, we'd like to make sure you're aware of how to update the payment and address information for your subscription(s).

If you need to change your subscription information (credit card, shipping address, email) please call 1-877-GO-MATTY. Be sure to tell the agent you're changing your subscription information, not just your regular store account (they're separate). If you change your information in the My Account section at MattyCollector.com, your subscription information will NOT be updated! My Account is only for standard purchases made in the shop during the month, so you will need to change your information both there and at 1-877-GO-MATTY.

Thank you for being a valued MattyCollector.com subscriber - we appreciate your business!

    Sincerely,

    MattyCollector.com Customer Service
    Now here's my experience.
On my account I have 3 payment options.
    1. The Original Credit Card i signed up with.
    2. My Bank Card
    3. My Paypal Card

As of last month I had my payments for my subs (voltron and eternia) set to #2 . Bank

Within MOMENTS of seeing the announcement that we had to call to change info , I went to mattycollector.com and did it myself.
I changed it to option #3. Paypal
    And waited.
March 12th I get the renewel email , and sure enough the charges were right there on the recently changed information I did myself without calling and giving critical information to a live person over the phone. #3 Paypal Card was charged. No problem.

So this is how I did it , I dont know if this is how its been done by others , but anything is a better option than the phone call .
    Step 1 : www.mattycollector.com
Step 2 : click any link (anything that brings up the Left Menu)
Step 3 : Click on Order History
    Step 4 : Log In
Step 5 : Find and click on your ORIGINAL Order # from signing up to this years Subs.
Step 6 : Scroll down to Subscription Details
Step 7 : on the right side of Payment Information there small link called edit . Click it.
Step 8 : On the right side is "Saved Payment Options" - click "Save for Subscription" on the one you want or
Step 9 : Enter new information and click Submit .

You can do the same for Shipping Address .

I hope this helps anyone who is like me and refuses to give my Name , Address , and Credit Card information to someone over the phone.

    Cheers
    MrB

Well done sir! I'm sure this will be helpful to many. you deserve a pie of your choosing!
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

Yup. It's worked several times for me without fail.

This has been brought up before, and probably will again. The problem is that most people think the default card is the one to change. I think Matty just found it easier to have people call than to try again to get people to change the correct card. I can't say I blame them on this one.

    Wow, that's great!

A shame that it's hidden so damned well, but good to know where to find it!

I will be PMing you for all my CS issues Mr. Blitzer. You should get 2013 Sub. for free. Thanks for this as well. Why in the world does every single person need to call every single month to change something if they need to. Ridiculous......

    Nope.

    Sorry.

    This doesn't ALWAYS work.

I did this last month and when I followed up with a phone call, I was told that neither subscription had been updated.

I am smart. I'd thought about putting the new credit card info into the original orders a while ago. I thought it made sense because a rep had told me in 2009 that the sub orders renew based on the info in the original order (I moved and had to update my address, and of course, changing it in the account section did nothing). So last month when I had to change my card (due to the security issues we have already discussed) I entered the new info into the original orders. It remained when I checked it later, but when I called CS to confirm, they still had the old info. Ridiculous.

So, I'm glad it's worked for some of you, but the system is garbage. It didn't work for me, and I know others for whom it also did not work

I had a renewal problem, that I manage to fix myself.
My original card had been tried scammed (G.I.Joe club...) but my bank picked up on it and cancelled my card.
So I went and entered the new information on matty when I got my new card. - I also, and here is the kicker, made sure that card was the one that was supposed to be used - I had to do this once with my old card when there were no funds in the account, basically enter the card again and put that entry as the one where they would draw the funds.

Well lo and behold, it didn't work, suddenly I get that there is something wrong with my card. It took about 2 days to get a response to my email. In that time I had edited my older cards with the new card information.
    Voila it fixed itself.
I did send another email telling them that it was working and got a fairly quick response about sorry for my troubles. But I do find it strange that what worked last time there was a problem, didn't work this time.

Might work with a card, doesn't with addresses. Well, not for me, anyway. Even e-mailing them with, "This is my new address, please update your details for this sub." didn't work. I'd call them Muppets, but I think Muppets are infinitely more intelligent.

I called CS and asked them to delete a credit card number I had on file with them. I was told they were not able to delete any credit card info but if it was not saved as default then it would not be charged.

About 2 weeks ago I found my original order for my subscription, went into it, found the 'Edit' link, clicked it and deleted it myself.

Yes, it does work if you go into your original subscription order and make changes.

I hope this works as I have tried everything else. Wish I would have seen this thread three weeks age before having to contact CS multiple times only to keep having the same problem.

You don't have to do it on the "original order".

Just find your last sub order scroll down to where it says payment info and there is an EDIT button. Click it and follow the commands. Pretty easy.

I did it again this month and it worked yet again. This is the third month in a row that it worked for me.

I know several people who have done it this and it has always worked for them..

I moved from another state a couple of years ago and had a nightmare of a time trying to get my sub info changed. Since then I've changed addresses and banks a couple of times and always used this method after I stumbled upon it. It's worked perfectly every single time. But check out Bonehead's post. You don't have to do it on the original sub's order, just the most recent of the sub you're trying to change.

Received notice this morning that my April subs are shipping after trying this method. Thank you to the OP for creating this thread as it was much more help than numerous correspondence with their customer service! I wish I would have seen it sooner so I wouldn't be getting doubles of Thunder Punch He-Man but I guess there is always Ebay.

Damn, wish I had known this in Feb, it would have saved me from having to go complain in person at their offices. Anyway, way to go! This is awesome information.

I am also fighting with CS team cause they can't seem to get all figures in the same box. So I totally understand what your going through and yeah they have asked me for personal info and I don't give it to them. I tell them NO WAY and its private so if you want to know it look it up and if you use it for fraud their will be consenquences.

I changed the payment info (card number and billing address) for my subscription myself earlier this month, and it all seems to have worked out fine - my card was successfully charged and the figures got delivered, all without having to interact with anyone at Digital River.

My card needed an expiration date change the other day. Before I found this thread, I simply went into "My Payment Information" and changed the info on the default card and thought nothing more about it. Then I found this thread this morning and per the discussion above went into my most recent sub order to change it there. Lo and behold, the expiration date on the sub orders, both the most recent AND the original, had the changed expiration date information. I'm crossing my fingers and not calling CS.
