I found it interesting that most of the highlights of Lesnar's career that they showed on RAW was him whooping up on top TNA stars. They showed him whipping Jeff Hardy, Hulk Hogan, and Kurt Angle. Suppose they did that on purpose as a jab at TNA?

Anyone else think that this thread should be renamed and changed to be the official WWE discussion thread? We could really use an official catch-all thread for WWE discussion.

Nope. Wrestlemania is worthy of it's own thread. Don't see why there can't be two.

I think the reason we don't have a dedicated WWE thread is because there is a group for discussing it I think. If someone in the know could clarify I would appreciate it. I have no problem with a WWE thread, but I think for some reason long ago it was segregated.

There was a board started for the wrestling fans here. I know a few folks still post there, but I kind of stopped myself.

Firefly started something. I just joined up the other day.

I heard a reason why it was started but I don't remember. But that's not the question at hand.

I didn't start it. Camaro did in 2005. Camaro is the administrator of the site. There used to be a lot of wrestling threads popping up here in the Other section then, and a lot of those wrestling threads were combined into one big one, so Camaro started up the offshoot forum made up of mostly he-man.org members. It was a somewhat popular site its first couple years. Now, it is pretty dead these days (even Camaro is MIA), although there is still a predictions league that is active for each pay per view (generally 7 to 12 people participate).

For he-man.org, I think one WWE thread would work fine, or maybe three (one for Raw, one for Smackdown, one for pay-per-views) so people could avoid spoilers.

I'd support that idea! Be nice to have a WWE thread here again.

I remember back in 2004 we had about 5 wrestling threads on the front page alone in this section. I believe it was Val who outlawed the wrestling threads cause they got out of hand and became spam to the non-wrestling members.

I know about Camaro's forum, but plainly, I don't want to join another forum to talk about wrestling. If I wanted that, I'd go to Wrestlezone or something.

I can also see how multiple wrestling threads here would be bad as well. That's why I think one main thread like the video game thread would be good. It doesn't have to be this one, we can make another, but to me, this one would make sense since it's already far off the topic of Wrestlemania.

We can start a wrestling thread, or I can change the name of this one. I think we should keep all of the WWE brands and TNA in the same thread.

~Wrestling Legend Paul Orndorff Slams Ultimate Warrior, Bret Hart and Ric Flair~

    From 411Mania:

-"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff was a guest on Inside The Ropes' 15th episode, where he talked about several topics and slammed a few legendary wrestlers. His interview stars 42 minutes, 20 seconds in.

On facing Ric Flair for the NWA World Title in 1982: "He was just another body. Some are better than others. I believed in making it look real. I was probably hard to work with because I wanted it to make real and I knew how to wrestle."

On working the first Wrestlemania in the main event: "It was special. There were so many people. It was the largest crowd to ever watch it. And then the pay per view of it was just ungodly. This was my opportunity to be really noticed and be seen. My paycheck….it was huge. I made more money in that 30 minutes than I did in a whole year with the NWA. People expected it and they were gonna get it from me."

On working with Mr. T: "I wasn't crazy about it. I was very protective WrestleMania 1of the business. I was taught that. You take care of it. You don't give out all your trade secrets. But then again you look at somebody like Ric Flair and you can say how can you hide something when they look like that? So I guess I started to give in a little bit."

On the transition in WWF from wrestling to entertainment in the 1980s: "It depends on your personality. I protected it. To me that wasn't protecting it. As you can see right now, because they didn't protect it, where it is now, there's only two shows now. Look how many there was, there was one in every state, now look where it is."

On Vince using bigger guys like Warrior: "I thought it was the worst move they could've made. Vince did it on purpose. He did it so he could be the only one."

On Warrior: "He never paid his dues. You gotta pay your dues, go and learn your trade that'll make it better when you are on that big stage. It's called experience and nobody has any now, because there's nowhere to go to get it."

On giving the belt to smaller stars like Savage and Bret: "No. Absolutely not. It's like putting the belt on someone who wants to be a wrestler. It didn't work. It downgraded, made the belt worthless. When Terry Funk, Harley Race had world titles, it meant more."

On the rumor that Hogan wouldn't drop the belt to Bret in 1993: "I don't blame him. I wouldn't have either. Bret Hart was a nobody from Canada and Hogan was the greatest star in wrestling. I don't blame him. He did the right thing."

He also gave some quick fire thoughts on several wrestlers:

-Ultimate Warrior: "I gotta go to the bathroom………………..NEXT!"
-Vince McMahon: "One of a kind."
    -Hulk Hogan: "Great."
-Bret Hart: "I don't care much for Canadians."
    -Randy Savage: "OK."
    -Ric Flair: "A Joke."

I agree with him totally on Warrior, though I completely disagree with his stance on the Macho Man and Bret Hart. You don't have to be a big guy to competently carry the World Title.

It don't shock me one bit. I never knew anything about his personality in til his hall of fame induction, and he just totally came off as an ass to me. He seems waaaay too conceded. And the Bret thing, it sounds to me like it's just because he's not American. Both times he mentioned him, he derogatorily followed it with Canada, like it helped his case or something.

Hart, Savage, and Flair had more talent then he EVER did, and he knows that.

Whatever, Orndorff was a jerk and barely relivant.

People really slam Warrior... sure he wasnt the best technical wrestler but damn that was his gimmick and he did it great. I wouldnt want to see him in a 60 minute iron man match, the point was come in, kill, leave. Damn these guys are so bitter twords him all because they didnt get on the box of WWF Cereal (yes it existed).

I agree with his views on Warrior. His whole gimmick was stupid and he could never carry a match. Vince was smart putting him with guys who could carry him and lay out matches like Savage, DiBiase, and Rude. Why people still try to defend him is beyond me. He screwed over all the fans who supported him for years by no-showing those events, on 2 different runs with the WWE mind you, and then threatening to walk out on a PPV.

His views on Flair are pathetic. Their rivalry goes back to the 80's where Orndorff made a pass at Flair's wife. Years later in WCW, Flair called him out on his **** after an incident and it ended up costing Orndorff his job at the WCW Power Plant as a trainer. In one occurrence at a WCW Nitro event, Paul Wight AKA the Giant AKA the Big Show had to break them up. Orndorff ended up with a broken nose after Wight pushed him into a wall.

Mr.T was never liked in the WWF. Everyone except Hogan liked him. Piper really did hate him and a lot of their fights were shoots. Their WM2 match was a complete shoot after Piper got ****** off in the middle of the match and completely changed the ending when he threw his chair at him.

As far as his views on Hart and Savage, Terry Funk was no bigger than them so there goes that theory.

Wouldnt you walk if you werent getting paid the money owed you? I would. If you honestly believe the WWE burial dvd, then you probably believe that the audience isnt altered on smackdown Everything WWE does paints them in the positive. Sure warrior was difficult at times, but compare his current positivity to that of any former wwe talent now, and you simply cant hate the guy. He made it out when no one else did intact.

It wasn't pay he had coming to him. It was a lump sum he demanded that day. Hogan likes the guy and even backed that story up as well as Slaughter.

It was a sum of extra money owed to him, warrior wrote all about it from their most recent court case. Are you guys basing your info only on a burial DVD? It was mostly proven to be a work/burial cause warrior didn't participate in the DVD the same was to happen with Bret, his DVD was originally called "screwed".

Hogan isn't excatally the most credible person... Recently even claimed metallica wanted him as their original bassist. Guy is a disaster..... Even has a porn coming out. And after all the stuff he said during his sons trial I grew to loathe him.

I base my views on the Warrior on the fact the Warrior is absolutely nuts and lives in his own world. This comes from seeing him speak at college and watching his many, many, many videos he puts on the web spouting his views on any and everything

Not to mention watching him in person in the WWE, and having watched wrestling for 30 years to know what talent is and how it is used.

I am sure the WWE DVD was a hatchet job on some parts, but the man does himself no help in the things he says or what he films.

No it wasn't. The story has been confirmed with several people including some of Vince's own enemies. Randy Savage said that he actually loved working with the man since their matches turned out great but even he confirmed the story. Everyone know how much Savage hated Vince. Why would he lie?

Before Warrior was in WCW, others like Gene Oakerland and Bobby Heenan who left WWFand were in WCW confirmed it. They no longer worked for Vince so why would they lie?

Warrior himself bragged about it when he was in WCW. Sting himself has confirmed the story that Warrior bragged about holding up Vince at Summerslam and no-showing those events. He thought he was bigger than the WWF and Vince showed him he was no Hogan.

I'll take their word over anything Warrior says. He was and still is a complete idiot and lunatic. The man's views on politics, religion, and race alone show how pathetic he truly is.

I've seen some of his videos and the guy is seriously deranged. He's his own worst enemy. I see no "positivity" in anything he says or does.

Well, like him or not, he did make it out way better than Hogan and Flair did. Watching those 2 go now is like a car accident waiting to happen. One of them is gunna die in the ring, wich is heart breaking considering all they did to entertain, due to their current financial woes and egos.

The no showing was warriors fault for sure, I just never saw the summer slam thing more than a dude demanding what he thinks his services are worth OR owed, whatever the truth be. Maybe im one sided because I myself have walked from jobs when I was short paid.

As for the positivity stuff, check out his newer video's. Everything is based around that. Im glad he for the most part keeps his political views out of it... that stuff has no place in trying to be up beat lol!

Ultimate Warrior has always come across as bitter. Look at Wrestlemania 12, he showed what little respect he had for his Opponents or the Profession they chose.

Hunter Hearst places Warrior in his finisher the "Guillotine"(Now known as the Pedigree) and succesfully finishes the move. Warrior instantly starts jumping up from it and pumping his arms.

There is always one thing you do, You sell the other Guys finisher no matter what you think of the Move or him!

Yeah, HHH said Warrior ruined the night for him just by the way he acted.

He disses Savage and Hart for being champions, yet praises Terry funk? What an idiot.

He doesn't think much of Canadians? Well, I can't say we think much of him. Hell, we don't think of him at all. That's how insignificant he is.
