Mer-Man repaint

Has anyone done any Mer-Man repaints?

I always thought he looked a bit dull, especially his armour, & I'm considering repainting it.

Can anyone inspire me?

Well I painted my old 200x Mer-Man. I didn't like the plastic color and the fact that his trident/sword/scale looking armor that appears to be made of tooth/bone was all this glossy brown. So I painted the plating on his chest and the tooth like parts of his trident bone white, then I dirtied it up a bit with a light brownish yellow. I think he looks good.

Try some bone white. Add some yellow to make it look decayed. If you hate it, wipe it it off and do something else.

Yes, I was thinking of making parts of his armour white & perhaps darkening other parts a bit brown. Right now it's just a block of colour.

I want to do a aqua marine/teal like the vintage version w/ orange armor. i just need to pull out my vintage toy for reference to color match.

the detail i will prolly go the coral color route since he is the master of the seas.

gave him a orange loincloth. the gold armor i touched up & repainted extra details.

I considered doing a Finding Nemo repaint.
I think it would really pop, but didn't start on it yet.
