I honestly don't know if you're being serious or not. I've never heard of the Cheetahmen before this post. They all look too similar to offer any variety in a toy line. They just seem like dollar store knockoff Thundercats.
Hey gang.
We all love the attention that the big-name 1980's/1990's franchises are getting right now. It seems there's "classics" toys coming out of the woodwork from every conceivable angle. We have Masters of the Universe, GI Joe, Transformers, Thundercats, TMNT... But among all these there's a name missing. One franchise that I feel would be the last big one to bring back in the form of a high-quality collector toyline.
I'm of course talking about the Cheetahmen.
For those of you who don't remember, the Cheetahmen were the stars of a famous Nintendo game series, and even had their own comic book which explained their origins (packed in with the game). Basically, a ruthless scientist named Dr Morbis captures three cheetah cubs in Africa and mutates them into his henchmen. But as adults, the Cheetahmen (Apollo, Aries and Hercules) refuse to serve Morbis as they can now clearly see his wicked ways. Instead the Cheetahmen resolve to fight Dr Morbis at every turn, prompting the mad scientist to create ruthless mutant monsters to try and destroy them!
The story of the Cheetahmen is a classic kid franchise one, telling a story of struggling with being different, making hard moral choices and trusting your friends. Every kid back then wanted to be a Cheetahman, and they even had a TV spot advertising their best-selling NES game. The second Cheetahmen game (beautifully entitled simply "Cheetahmen II") is one of the most expensive collector's item video games of all time.
But how does this relate to action figures, you ask?
Well, the Cheetahmen were slated to have their own action figure line!
Advertised in the Cheetahmen comic book, this tantalizing look is all we ever saw of the planned action figures. I think it's safe to say that had they arrived they would have been totally unique on the marketplace and made a huge impression. And isn't today the perfect time to finally realize this dream? While I know that getting a 4H-sculpted line would be unlikely, perhaps a company like Bandai could take up the mantle, providing us with the line of the Cheetahmen and their friends and foes. Just looking at the pictures above virtually makes them spring alive on the page, doesn't it?
So here's hoping that the big toy companies will get their act together and make Cheetahmen Classics a reality sooner rather than later. Better late than never.

HA! Cheetahmen. The best part about that game is the "II." Like there was a "I." But anyway, you're a little early for April Fools!

Well, if they made these, they'd clearly kill all of teh lines before them. Who needs MotoCKs, Thundercats, or TeeMeNTees if we have Cheetamens!!! ..wait.. who?
Moby games made some of the worst abominations of video game entertainment ever.![]()

Even though it's obscure, the internet has given it attention and I'm sure whoever somehow holds the rights would sell for the right price. And hey, if Hasbro can bring back that godawful Jem cartoon series(they're not even changing the horrible character designs, everything's still going to look like Hunter S. Thompson's worst nightmares, and they're still ripping off an actual band's name for this abomination and getting away with it!) then much anything's bound to get a revival.
white rhino looks amazing. i want a custom NOW.
been thinking that we could maybe appeal to a broader audiance too with these...
