Nope, I'm waiting until the season officially hits. My wife watched it and said she loved the character Korra as the next Avatar.

She really is a likable character but it feels kind of empty without the familiar faces imo. You expect them to pop out any second, but they don't.. With one exeption that is. I am glad it's finally here though.

I didn't realize it was starting - will they re-air the pilot? When does the show itself start?

I cant wait to see the show, but has anyone read the ATLA book "The Promise" by Dark Horse? Its set just after the war and shows how the Gaang go about rebuilding the world after the war

They didn't broadcast the pilot with much fanfare if it's been shown already. Was this on their website or something? I've been looking forward to this for a year but I didn't know they were showing anything yet.

It officially airs on Nick on April 14th I believe, but they did a little viral marketing thing and enough people shared it on facebook to "unlock" the pilot episode. You can watch the pilot at www.korranation.com I haven't caught it yet myself, but really looking forward to it.

I tried to watch it twice on the net but for some reason it kept freezing on me so i gave up. I watched the first 10 mintues though I don't like the way the character is drawn. Another blogged mentioned this too. She looks too manly or something. She doesnt look like a woman to me. Although sometimes she does. I dunno its weird.

i watched the 2 min trailer and it looks like more of a side story than another epic.

It is only a side story, they're only doing one season. They said they don't want to make it as huge as the original.

Wow, my wife and i just finished watching the first two episodes, very cool! Seeing the children of the characters we grew to love was very neat...Toph's hardcase daughter...Aang's son...awesome! Even Gran-Gran Katara!

Thanks for the heads up via this thread, I would have had no idea this was even happening!

For those who can't find it or having difficulties on the website, I ended up torrenting it off of piratebay. Video quality isnt perfect, but good enough for the moment. Definitely looking forward to DVR'ing it in April!

I really enjoyed it, it's a bit light in comparisson, but to be fair Aang had a LOT of work ahead of him, thus far Korra has it pretty easy, but it's fun and as always with this series, the fight choreography and animation is FANTASTIC! I absolutely LOVE Tenzin's youngest son! he's NUTS!! hahaha

I'm a bit let down hearing it's just one season as I love this universe, but to be honest I'd love to see more Aang and company instead of offspring or offspring of offspring .

the good news: it's already been given a second season.
the bad news: the episode count of both seasons appears to be only slightly longer than the average season of avatar.

tenzin's son looks like principal mcvicker's son from the christmas episode of beavis and butthead.

I really like how they've built up the story for the one-hour season finale next Saturday. Really looking forward to it. From the preview it looks like Amon will take Korra's powers away but I'm guessing that when he tries to do it, he triggers the Avatar state in her.

This a good series so far, I just hope they defeat Amon by the end of this season and get a new villian for the next season instead of Korra loosing her powers and hafting to get them back through some kind of quest or spiritual journy.

This has been pretty good, I hope they go for three seasons even though they are criminally short compared to the original Avatar series. I wonder when Korra is going to figure out how to airbend. If she loses the other bending abilities, would she still be able to learn airbending?

I liked that Amon wasn't Councilman Tarrlok since that felt so obvious, but Amon by now is incredibly powerful for a non-bender. He overcame the Bloodbender's powers when even the Avatar had trouble doing the same. I wonder what he really is as I think he's more than just a guy who knows pressure points. Also I would think what gets taken away can be given back. Don't any good guys know pressure points and can undo the bending blocks? Maybe Iroh, who I guess is Zukko's grandson? Also I could do without the love triangle, I like Asami a little too much to root for Korra and Mako.

    Lin :-(

They need to stop taking everyone's bending away. Lin's earthbending was too great to lose. I think she'll get it back after time. Maybe Amon's power to take bending away is just that much greater than Ty-Lee's, so it just lasts a longer time than hers did. I hope they'll get it back.
